What have you set the colour and brightness settings to? On mine it seems quite bright and the colours are washed out.

i've got a SyncMaster 206BW..like..it's 4 years old..was thinkin of changing it to this one..thou i dunno if the colors will be the same or "brighter"..coz i'm an artist and i wanna use the same view i have with the colors used in my monitor to this one..is it possible?..or...what? <<;..
