Please, can someone tell me what happened to Cameron English, the actor who played Paul on the movie version in 1985? I have searched on the net, but have found nothing about him or about his career, after Chorus Line, except that he acted as a dancer in "Death becomes her" in 1992.
i saw her playing the role of the dance trainer in "show girls" and she was still cool there. so sharp, powerful and yet graceful. she is a great dancer.

I enjoy this clip SO much that when I first found it here I watched it 10X in a row. I agree she's the best dancer in this movie and her character really should have been fleshed out more. Just empathizing w/the character and her struggle to make it, how she felt ugly etc, this clip almost makes me want to cry from happiness.
I can't believe other people love this bit as much as I do!!! I must have watched this 10 times the first time I saw the movie!!! She was incredible!!!!!!!!
I met Terrence Mann in SF when the current A Chorus Line premiered at the Curran. Of ALL the things I could have said to him, he introduced himself, and I said "I know who you are. I am a huge theater geek, and you and 3 other people were then only reason I watched the movie "A Chorus Line".
He burst out laughing but was really nice. I only wish he'd had Charlotte with him, too. Oh well.
I wish they had eightified the whole damn movie... Then you would get this scene, the Surprise Surprise bit, and perhaps some other wonderfully electrifying stuff that makes us jazz dance lovers go into a state of ecstasy...
It's true. The 80's vibe just doesn't go with the musical. BTW, what happened to the black and white video of Donna McKechnie's "The Music and the Mirror" from the original Bway production? True you can't see everything but the dancing just hits you.

Is that the original choreography?
It all looks so 80s...
caitlinette 5 years ago
Nope. It's not. It's very 80s-fied.
Which makes the movie bad because A Chorus Line is a very 70s show, as it should be.
blackpython 5 years ago
yeah the 80s vibe is soooo wrong for the musical. gross. where can i watch the original broadway version? is it on dvd anywhere or something?
prancingmorons 5 years ago
There's a few clips from the original cast on youtube, but there aren't many.
