The problem with the iPhone is that it keeps you in a "walled garden" where you spend money with Apple. You can't do anything unless Apple likes the app.

I have some really off the wall apps on my smartphone that nobody has ever heard of, because I searched really hard and found them. Maybe only 3 other people and the developer liked that app, but at least we can have them. Apple wouldn't let us.

iPhone was a neat marketing idea, executed exceptionally well. Lots of people felt that their "tech cred" was wrapped up in whether or not they owned one. While we real tech-heads and system developers were laughing at them for even having one, let alone each time they posed by displaying it, much like the muscle head who flexes his muscles conspicuously any chance he can get.

I had a smart phone in 2005. I could even telnet or SSH with it. Plus, it had a slide out keyboard.

iPhone was a neat gadget, geared towards neophytes and wannabes, but the Pocket PC was 3 years ahead, and has only advanced since then.

However, I would like to remind you that the droid interface is nothing like the iPhone.

Apple is all about the "walled garden", and everything they do is designed to keep you in their "store", while droid has its own type of interface and it is open.

Trying to compare Windows Mobile to iPhone would just be wrong altogether. They are two totally different platforms designed for two totally different audiences. iPhone is obviously for entertainment. Windows Mobile is a business power-horse beast. iPhone has fart apps and "crazy birds", WinMo has full flash, Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint in your pocket). They both have YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, games ect. They are both great platforms in their own specific way.
