  • Wow! Such a beautiful song and interpretation. The torch was passed to Natalie Cole by Ella, Sarah, Nat, Frank, Carmen, Billie and all the other superstars of yesteryear. She killed this song and deserved a standing ovation.

  • They were all fabulous. Natalie is the best scatter alive today. She is truely from the Ella Fitzgerald genre. Natalie is elegent, classy, sophisticated, beautiful and talented. There is no genre of music that Natalie can't sing. They were all playing so well. Ella I am sure was so proud.

  • Oohhhhhh... this song gets me every time. I've seen it performed terribly (oh how painful) and, of course, I've seen the video on Youtube of Ella... oooooooohhhhhhhoohhhhhhh

  • beautiful pure bliss

  • she does sing more effortlessly than whitney houston. i honestly think she's a better singer/performer than whitney houston.

  • Thats Natalie... effortlessly the song just becomes her.

  • The whole song throughout, I was expecting a sax solo (or interlude) by Wayne Shorter, but that loud and insensitive dabadobidabba was constantly interrupting Shorters tasteful playing :(

  • Natalie is working this song over. She's one of the best scatters around.

  • Classic Natalie Cole singing the blues & jazz love her much!

  • She did amazing justice to this song! I mean, she hit it JUST the way would have hit it. Not saying she's as good as Ella, However, I think any modern singer to do it better than NC.

  • great, but would've loved to just hear the band play it's almost a waste to let them not solo

  • Natalie is awesome. She is so talented and beautiful. Can sing Jazz, Blues, R&B, Pop, Rock, Gospel. What can she not sing. That is why her career has lasted over 30 years. This whole performance is great, all the players are simply brilliant. These singers today cannot touch Natalie with her style and grace. Thanks for the post.

  • I'm without words to describe this woman and her beautiful way with this song. I'm sure Ella would approve.

  • That a girl ms. Natalie!....... still got it crackin!

  • he he he he hehe you said crack-- I don't think she wants to be remembered for that anymore.

That was why her family was so mad at her using her Dads name/songs because for so long she was estranged from the family.

    hehehe crack.

  • There is no one more magnetic and exciting in concert than Miss Cole!

  • @bsteinesq Amen

  • No, that woman can sang!!!! She is truly serious!

  • classy singer she is

  • Great Natalie Cole! She's so talented! Perfect! Thanks for this special moment...

  • I didn't know she was SO good.

  • This is a real and genuine singer...so unique and classic. Natalie Cole is one of the best singer the world has had so far...of course with our great Ella.

  • BRAVO! SUPERB! I I love you Natalie. Thanks Bunny!

  • Bunny, I'm your fan, you're great

  • AMAZING! Ella would be proud...

  • Amazing, she has Ella's energy but has a charm all her own.

  • Natalie was fantastic! She can sing anything.

I love when she's in her Jazz mode best! What a cast of awesome musicians backing her too!

  • My Girl Natalie. You know you can sing anything. You go girl.

  • i love natalie cole

  • Great__just__great i've always thought she has one of the best voices in the business

  • Wonderful...you have to understand this to truly appreciate it. Thanks for the video.

  • I love this song. Natalie does a great version of it.

  • What´s the title of this song?

  • You Have To Swing It (Mr. Paganini). I saw Natalie and Patti Austin sing it live at the Ella 90th birthday celebration last June. I almost peed my pants. Those two need to record together.

  • Natalie recorded this with another great... Chaka Khan for the Ella Tribute CD `We All Love Ella

  • What's wrong with Bunny?

  • get her cd unforgetable it is a great cd

  • WTF! -- they couldn't get Ron Carter or Dave Holland on bass??? Thanks for the great vid!

  • ...why?

  • Why, to make the apparent ex-miles reunion complete. Why spoil the sound with the Brunel?

  • Bunny does a great job,

    ..there's new sheriff in town!

  • love this video...and natalie and herbie and wayne..

  • Natalie is amazing with style and grace. Thnaks for this I loved it!

  • Natalie, you rock. Please come back to Auckland, New Zealand. You're the greatest.

  • Really interesting combination of players to back Natalie Cole at the Grammys. Considering how much each player is capable of streeeeetching time. Still sounds awesome!

  • That was remarkable, thanks for posting!

  • Nice but they should have let Wayne have a solo.

  • Thank you! I wanted to see this performance since 1997.
