  • he made that

  • I love the Bobcats dearly, but there was nothing like a Hornets game. I'm mad they left when I was nine :(

  • lol @ tracy mcgrady laying on the floor

  • incredible... refs must be retarded

  • Clearly Good!!!

  • thanks for uploading this, I remember trying to find this once and it wasn't on youtube. my favorite Baron Davis moment and it didn't even count.

  • A ref of 23 years shouldn't make that kind of mistake.

  • wtf? jajajajajajja i really hate the refs

  • ALL REFS ARE FUCKING BLIND, IN EVERY SPORT!

  • @ebou196

ALL REFS ARE not perfect cause' they are human too like us...

  • If you look before the inbounds pass, that ref is giving the usual 5 second signals with his arms. He got down to one when the pass was made. I think in his head he just kept counting down to zero and mistakenly went by that timer instead of the actual game timer/shot clock.

Fixed game? I don't think so.

Stupid ass ref? You got it.

  • @LakerLandLegacy Bernie Fryer claimed that there was no way Davis could've completed that motion in 0.7 seconds, and even though it was released before the buzzer, that was only because there's a natural lag between when the player touches the in-bounds pass and the clock starts.

When Fisher hit his 0.4 shot, I was thinking of this exact play. If this one didn't count, Fisher's probably shouldn't have, either, but whatever.

  • who won this game? just wondering

  • @DEWMOUNTAINDEW Charlotte Hornets

  • Most fixed shit ever that ref needs to die

  • you shoud change yer user name to kobe5rings

  • @ColoredUnderwear I would if it was possible. I had kobe4rings back in the 03-04 season, took me 5 years to finally get it right lol

  • if derek fisher made the 0.6 shot that time it won't have been counted as well, then the spurs will went back to back champions

  • @jayjoetube14 was on 0.4

    :p

  • my brother said to me, players need to release it before 0.3 seonds.. he lied

  • 0:40 yes, and it happens

  • the ref is even waving off before the shot

  • I searched for this coz I remembered this shot. I can't forget this shot. This wat 1st nba playoff I followed.

  • lol. the one(Tmac) who guarded baron davis, knew that it was good. He lay down at the floor after the shot. Embarrassing display of referring a game.

  • that should of counted d fishers made a shot with 0.4 left in the clock and it counted that was bull shit

  • wow. this was also in the year 2002.

  • how did that not count u dumb referee 0.7 secs is enough time and they didnt review! :/

  • Comment removed

  • dum ass ref tht shit d.a. counted the worse call ever

  • rather than brawl or fights of oppositions fans, sombody smack the damn refs

  • wow that was so clear!

  • they have to review!

  • Charlotte won twice b/c the refs know good and damn well that shot counted.....Paul Silas was pissed

  • they wont review that shit? wow

  • baron shoots

    gets waved off

    buzzer sounds

  • is this guy deaf/blind?

  • cheatin ass crackas lol jk jk

  • press 8

  • Charlotte won anyways but Charlotte got robbed on that one.

  • 00:04

  • Typo 00:4

  • Pause at 4:00

  • this play actually change the rule from next year.

  • Man i would of hit that nigga

  • BAD CALL! even though charlotte won this game regardless still, davis got the shot off way b4 da buzzer sounded. a blind man can see this!

  • One of the WORST. CALLS. EVER!!!!!

  • is that Baron Davis or Kanye West!

  • that was some bull shit.

  • theres 310 million people in the United states as of 2010. i like at LEAST 309,999,999 would agree that baron davis got it off in time. Bernie Fryer is the only one that says otherwise. im not even a hornets fan but this fucking pisses me off. fucking dumbass

  • Thatsbullshit

  • It looked good... unless the sound is off

  • the ref had a bet on the game

  • Man they're just bitching I mean Lebron can do it in 0.1 sec

  • what a fucking dumbass

  • I remember this like yesterday,I miss my hornets, baron had a triple double he beasted mcgrady, this is his best shot and it should have counted we got robbed but we won in Ot!!its all right we about to get our name back I don't like the bobcats untill they get hornets name back I'm a laker!!cam newton carolina panthers#1 the real steve smith deangelo stewart double trouble

  • wow, unbelievable call, unfair.

  • Wow the NBA where fixed games happen!

  • WOW...Can u say FIXED!

  • everyone knows the NBA has refs thats cheats they do it all the time

  • i remember this game very well, I was rooting for Orlando, and once baron hit that shot I was pissed cause even I could see it counted lol. But prior to the 2003 season there was no review on last second shots, and the idea was listen for the buzzer. After that game, and the pacers Nets game 5 where reggie miller's shot should not have counted, they decided to put instant replay for last second shots at the start of 2003

  • i'm sure the ref heard it, he wuz on pay role

  • the ball touch the backboard before it has to touch the rim

  • NBA: where match fixing happens

  • its out of his hands with 0.2 left ?????

  • @LebronForMvp231 lebron sucks

  • @2pacisthebest90 The best you wud come up with. Fucking Idiot.

  • If this didn't count, then how can Fisher shoot in .03 secs?? Horrible

  • I'm a Magic fan and that was a horrible call, I remember that like it was yesterday. I'm still surprised it took numerous bad calls in the 2002 playoffs to convince Stern to use instant replay some 5 years later when they finally started using it.

  • the orlando magic general manager paid the ref dollars to suck his motherfucking fat dick

  • @thejejelo I AGREE MAN!THAT SHOT WAS GOOD! the ball was already half way on 0.3...

    fucking ref

  • Yeah, that ref was trying to fix the game.

  • Regardless.. Hornets still won the game in overtime..

  • I remember this so clearly, even 9 years later. I was jumping around my living room when it went in and it took me a while to figure out what happen. This play was one of the main reasons they now have instant replay in the NBA.

  • it was still 00.2 sec

  • wow, thats some fucked up shit, that ref can eat a big fat dick

  • There was no light behind the backboard or replay back then.

  • pre-Donaghy scandal rigging...

  • Bernie Fryar....what a dick

  • Wow not even close, he beat it be a good .2 seconds.

  • I dont think the ref was watching the game

  • thank god for replay now!!! this was a heart breaker!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Crazy shot, one of many controversies in these playoffs, but at least the team should have won did win in the end, unfortunately as good as this game was it pissed me off cuz the phantom overtime caused me to miss the beginning of the Kings game that day

  • they didnt have review back then and it seemed like he wanted to wave it off b4 he even shot the ball

  • @daboyx This, the ref had already predetermined that if the ball was caught and not tapped in, he was waving it off regardless. What a prick.

  • Dumbass ref was a Magic fan!

Sometimes refs ruin games. ex-THIS ONE!

  • Love comment here "No! Yes! No!"

  • I would have committed murder if I was Baron and Charlotte lost.

  • wtf? U can see its good without replay.

  • @akt0m what I don't understand is US as the fans, we KNOW it's good by just looking at the replay here on youtube but the refs who actually have it on camera in front of their eyes can't notice that the shot is good or what?! woiw Baron was robbed at least 1 game winner in his resume`

  • Oh man I remember this! If memory serves me correctly, at the time, the nba rules stated that with less than a second left, the only allowable offensive play would be a tip shot without touching the ground...no two-footed catch and shoot. Because of this, they changed this rule after the season ended.

  • Ok - some missed calls I can understand, but that is not even close. How can a referee good enough to officiate a playoff game miss a call that badly at such a critical time? I'm sorry. That is terrible.

  • They Didn Review Back Then So It Didnt Count But Still Hornets Won In OT...Da Reff Appoligized Later

  • he clearly got it off in time...who won the game btw???

  • @illman300 baron davis team won...charlotte

  • the shot clock light was implemented because of this play. That's why it was introduced.

  • The ref said no shot could be off in .7 tenths of a second. Clearly, he was wrong.

  • i love that slow mo shot of baron davis popping his collar.

  • i have been looking for this video for a long time. i was a big hornets fan. shoulda counted...

  • Im guessing the Hornets went on to win the series anyways cuz T-MAC is the second round virgin.

  • @JSqAuD14

You are correct. The then-Charlotte Hornets defeated the Orlando Magic 3-1 in the best of 5 series

  • This should have counted unlike the Reggie Miller bank shot 3 pointer in game 5 vs. New Jersey! I love B Diddy but I have stated before Davis is "a player you love to hate unless he plays for your team"

  • they didn't have replay when Baron was in Charlotte, if anyone is wondering

  • Guys, Guys, Guys....

This shot didn't count because at the time the rules didn't allow you to catch and shoot the ball with less than .8 seconds left. Its not that he didn't get the ball off in time, because he did, it doesn't matter when points do not count if you are in possesion of the ball with less than .8 on the clock. you must tip-in, or 'dink' and shot. of course, now the rule is .3 to catch and shoot.

  • @enad58 oh wow, that was a very stupid rule then.

  • NBA ref sucks

  • Dude they reviewed that and didn't over turn that? Man there really is crooked ref's in the NBA if that was the case.

  • the guy who rebounds the ball is soo close to booting the ball in the stands

  • So glad this is on youtube, been looking for the clip for years. This was one of the most disappointing moments of my childhood as a sports fan lol

  • I totally remember this. Great memories (well, not specifically this moment) from the days when the NBA was actually good. I was 14, and I was BIG TIME into the Hornets. I had a rented big screen TV at my house, and after Bernie Fryer (worst official of all time because of this call) waved it off, I slammed the remote down on the ground, slightly damaging it. It's easy to laugh about now, but man... I was FURIOUS. We sure took out our anger in OT, though.... we ended up winning by 10, I believe.

  • so this didn count? or they reviewed it and counted it

  • Didn't review it so they waived it off immediately.

  • were they not allowed 2 review back then?

  • @lakerfanroei20 I think so, might be wrong.

  • that probably would of stunk 4 baron tho

  • @kobe4rings no they werent after this year they instituted the instant replay and red lights on backboard because of numerous call problems

  • @kobe4rings

videoreview doesn't exist on this year

  • @lakerfanroei20

no they were not allowed to revie wback then....but after the playoffs..this was one of teh shots that made them implement a review

  • @lakerfanroei20

at that it was not allowed to review

Also in that same year Reggie Miller made a controversial 3 pointer to tie the 5 th game in the first round against the nets.

As for this game the hornets won it ( twice)

  • @lakerfanroei20 reviewing began in 2003

  • @lakerfanroei20 i think video reviews began only in the 2002-2003 season

  • @lakerfanroei20

    they aren't, unfortunaetly
