microevolution is the random shuffling of alleles in gene pools. macroevolution is the creation of new gene pools (speciation). new alleles are created by mutation and they get shuffled in microevolution. when a population divides, creation of new alleles makes each group more different from the other. this is macroevolution. there is no difference in the mechanisms between the two.

But Evolution does not explain the Universe or planets. That was my point. If you talk about life, you use Evolution theory. This thing about "healing amputees" is interesting. If you ask God to heal an amputee, you can be 100% certain nothing will happen. With scientific advances in genetic engineering however, it may one day be possible to make humans regrow lost limbs, just as salamanders do. Maybe you were responding to someone else, since I never spoke about amputees, but the point they are probably making is this: gods are always said to have saved people through healing miracles (like healing someone of cancer, for example)... but not once has this happened to an amputee. Infinite universe seems the most plausible. Space still existed before the big bang. There was nothingness. Evolution explains variation and diversity in plants.

In principle, evolution WOULD be easy to disprove. All it would take to blow evolution out of the water is to find a fossilised organism in the wrong stratum. Or as J.B.S. Say my brother and I are being chased by a leopard. He has a better immune system than I do, because of an inherited genetic trait. I can't run as fast as he can because my body has been using resources to fight disease. The leopard catches and eats me before I have a chance to reproduce. That's evolution by natural selection. Whether it's eyesight or hearing or any other trait that increases survivability. He passes on superior genes. It's a brutal and effective way to improve the species.

Well, that scenario is flawed to begin with. In todays era, you wouldn't need to run from the leapard, as you would more than likely be carrying a weapon if chose to be in that particular environment, you would shoot the leapard and lazily walk away. Natural selection, is not evolution, animals kill for food, that is survival, it's nature and it's life. Because the leapard ate you, does not mean, that your brother was superior, just means he was luckier. He could have tripped and fell. :)

Here's the problem with both, that people always choose to ignore. They are both based on faith. You either believe in creationism, or you believe in evolution. Neither one has any more proof than the other. That's the straight, and skinny of it right there. It's your belief, and if you believe it, you have faith in it, if you don't you think it's bullshit, either way, you can't prove either, well at the moment anyways.

You've exactly missed the mark.
Evolution has a mountain of evidence to support it. It doesn't require faith or belief, all it requires is the ability to understand the mechanism and the raft of evidence that supports it.
The theory is both descriptive (it binds together facts we know, like the common descent of species) and predictive (it predicts things that are later found when we go look, like the stratification of fossils).
Creationism has nothing.

Well, here is the problem with your theory, and it's a huge hole in evolution. If evolution were true, wouldn't you see animals and insects currently turning into something else? Where is the half man half ape? If we evolved from apes, wouldn't there still be apes evolving into neanderthal, and then into modern man? Wouldn't you see species of fish doing the same thing? What about man as a whole, would you not see them evolving into something else beyond human? I would think so.

It sounds good you realize that the "theory" says that "advantageous" traits are successfully passed on due to survival advantages but tiny steps toward a new organ or system are useless untill said organ is fully implemented. How many parts to the simplest functioning eye? But without all of them blindness is still the outcome and has no evolutionary advantage. Pick any major change and incrementalism is not a intellectually honest answer.

If you care to examine the Miller experiment, a small assembly of protein was synthesized in a environment of ammonia and methane however it is agreed now that such atmosphere never existed on Earth. But even if it did in order to be stable that same nucleotide chain immediately would need an oxygenated atmosphere. The two atmospheres are incompatable so experiment abject failure to prove evolution but yet it is cited.

Selecting variations based on advantages of short vs long beak does not explain the existance of the beak. Do you know what atoms are? How does our star manage to sustain itself and provide energy and hence life to our planet? How a chemical reaction works?
If you aren't some stupid loser, and have a sense of mathematical probability, you will see that the chances of random atoms colliding together to produce complex protein chains is quite possible
PLUS early earth was a cesspool of carbon/hydrogen/nitrogen/oxygen atoms, everything you need for life, no lightning involved.

I respectfully and completely disagree with you. What you just wrote is scientifically equivalent to say that, to accept theory of gravity, you must accept Big Bang theory. Evolution and abiogenesis are theories for "different parts of the story". Life is a fact and evolution studies how it evolved and differentiated. Darwin's book (evolution's kernell) is on the origins of species not on the origins of life. Moreover, I do reject "water+rocks+lightning = life", but I don't reject abiogenesis.

microevolution is the random shuffling of alleles in gene pools. macroevolution is the creation of new gene pools (speciation). new alleles are created by mutation and they get shuffled in microevolution. when a population divides, creation of new alleles makes each group more different from the other. this is macroevolution. there is no difference in the mechanisms between the two.

Because they are different theories explaining completely different issues. Yes they are connected in the way that without a Big Bang, no planets or stars would be formed, so life would not exist. But Evolution does not explain the Universe or planets. That was my point. If you talk about life, you use Evolution theory. If you talk about the formation of the universe, you use the Big Bang Theory. If you talk about how Planets and start formed, you talk about Cosmology.

Tell me why does it take faith to believe in what scientists say? Proper scientists will have data and evidence that gives proof or substantiates a theory.
For example, if a scientist tells you that smoking is bad for your health, you don't have to believe it, but the scientist can show you studies where they tested people who did and did not smoke..and obviously people who did died earlier.
Science = observable/tested/calculated truth

This thing about "healing amputees" is interesting. If you ask God to heal an amputee, you can be 100% certain nothing will happen. With scientific advances in genetic engineering however, it may one day be possible to make humans regrow lost limbs, just as salamanders do. Science can achieve what prayer can't, it's the scientists who perform the REAL miracles. Despite this, religious extremists seem set on blocking scientific / medical research, even though they don't understand science.

Maybe you were responding to someone else, since I never spoke about amputees, but the point they are probably making is this: gods are always said to have saved people through healing miracles (like healing someone of cancer, for example)... but not once has this happened to an amputee. It's supposed to point out how strange for all underlying illnesses to somehow vanish, but a very obvious injury has never ever been healed.

the big bang simply tries to explain the beginning of the universe, the problem with a finite time period is that causation of time requires time as well. That is a paradox. Infinite universe seems the most plausible. Space still existed before the big bang. There was nothingness. Evolution explains variation and diversity in plants.

In principle, evolution WOULD be easy to disprove. All it would take to blow evolution out of the water is to find a fossilised organism in the wrong stratum. Or as J.B.S. Haldane said, "Fossil rabbits in the precambrian." But this has never happened. Nevertheless, creationists continue their desperate search. They spend their time and money trying to prove evolution wrong instead of providing any credible evidence for "intelligent" design.

He is right,something alot of creationists do is try and disprove evolution.That does not render creationism the correct answer.If you disproved evolution,creationism would not win by default.Evolution is a fantasically logical explanation,whereas humans popping out from nowhere is backed up by absaloutley nothing.The Bible,nor any other holy book does not pass as evidence,it is merely mythology.
