@poupeejolie I made this animation a few years ago, It was a flip book animation i made on my way to college. I ripped out the pages then scanned them. To answer your question the software i used was Mac imovie. :)
Hi thats really good i like it, just wondering, at the start, when its dark, did you invert the images so they came up negative? or is it simply black paper and white chalk pencils or something?? really love the effect! :)
Also, thats a very interesting animation style. It must've taken a long time. I certainly don't have the patience for something like that as a solo project XD
Just for future reference, the standard Frames Per Second for an animated short is 20 frames per second. This allows you to double frame the parts that don't need to be quite as smooth, while giving you room for making in-betweens at parts that need more frames to look good. I am by no means a professional, but i have taken a few animation classes, and thats always been the standard.
Wow I love this, needs more publicity, please - how did you make this? Is it pencil to pen and simply a case of drawing lots of frames as close picture wise as the last.
thank you. I did everything on an a5 notepad... it started out as a flip book. I ripped out the pages and scanned them, then used the most basic editing software at my disposal.. Macs imovie. then just looped most of the frames
Is the shakiness in the beginning scene intentional? How do you do it, just keep changing the position of the character so it creates a wavering effect?
Wish I could say it was intentional, but it wasn't. The reason it's so shaky is because I drew the same frame multiple times, then looped them round with a slight variation.

its called the Boyle effect, you do it by drawing the same image twice and alternating between the two.
milo5641 1 year ago
thank you. i used a range of 10 - 12 fps, then just looped the rest with a slight variation.
gkevolution 2 years ago
this is great, were you using 24 drawings per second or 12 and doubling them up?
