Now there are brilliant parts of this series but if I'm honest, Lost was a perfect explanation of the plot. It's all over the place and far fetched, few things are answered, I can understand some people enjoying solving mysteries, filling the blanks so to speak, though...It's, quite over-rated in my opinion.

@darthkazden everything that happened on the island was real life. they all die at different times. Purgatory was the world they where living in when they didn't know each other but then all bumped into each other and slowly everyone started to remember.

The ending is basically like a flashforward when everyone including hurley and ben eventually passes away and goes into purgatory. But I hated this ending because it was such a damn cop-out. The island becomes just a dream world created by Jack and the others, as explained by Jack's father; yet we have this entire big pointless back story behind Dharma, Jacob, randomly planted A-bombs, and tropical polar bears ;p
As amazing as this show was, I feel that the finale was just a hugfe middle finger to all the viewers, I mean, they were all dead from the start! Love the show but the ending was dissapointing :(.

There is no where or when before they move on all people died but some later on in life but since the main character "Jack" died it show the moving on part. Them making it off the plane wasnt real it was just a way for all characters to find each other and to move on.
Wish lost could have went on but, lost was a show that had to have an ending. Fans only understood lost and when we lost I cant imagine how lost someone that never followed the show. A perfect conclusion lost.
I love how carefully Michael talks about what happens in the last episode/season. We meet characters we've talked about for a long time, we lose characters we've loved. etc. It's awesome.
When they killed off Jacob, I stopped watching. That ruined it for me. They have always killed the awesome people off. First Boone, Eko, Charlie and then Jacob too, the coolest character. Bye ABC.

Things weren't answered well were the point. Like Inception. They can just do whatever they want and claim, "oh its raining because you have to pee." Both create their own worlds where they can explain things and just say oh it is the way it is, but even listening to the creators, they say its about the characters and relationships. They basically were saying we didn't have an exact plan for the whys and created them as we went. People wanted their minds blown and it didn't happen.
I wasn't too big on the whole "weird sideways reality that they created to all meet each-other once they die" thing. It just seemed unnecessary...i did however find the ending on the island, quite inspiring and emotional. That was very good.
Aside from that, even if the ending was a pile of crap i would still love Lost. Im not gonna ignore all the other phenomenal writing(Dr. Linus, anyone?) that went into the show just because of one lousy ending.

@JohnPorkLord They did answer and explain nearly everything, all the important things anyway such as the monster, Jacob, why they were all there, adam and eve, black rock, dharma, the others, whispers, numbers, the incident, etc etc a few things like Walt and the outrigger scene weren't but things like that weren't exactly important to the story anyway. Season 6 wasn't as good as it could have been (although i still enjoyed most of it) but when people claim nothing was answered they're wrong.

I seriously discourage anyone who still hasn't concluded the series, to watch it. Just let it go. Whatever plausible explanation you've dreamt up yourself for the 11,254 questions you have, is 100x better than what the writers of Lost have come up with. They flushed the series down the drain. 1/10.
I must say, that I absolutely don't agree with all of you people, because from the very beginning till the very end LOST was just the best damn thing I have ever seen. It is just impossible the write a Finale which releases every question and which makes everyone happy. I think it was incredible emotional and I loved it.

Emerson is a rare case, when he praises his own acting I don't consider it anything like bragging because he's more than entitled to it. Emerson and O'Quinn made the show magical more than anybody, and yeah Holloway and Garcia and everyone was amazing, but these two...acting gods.

The ALT is the afterlife, but what happened on the island, that was damn real (even afterlife Christian said it, that they were dead, but that the island thing was very real. Although it might not be "waking up" exactly, it's still a very similar idea. It just means you don't have to explain anything! Although I can see how it was difficult to end it any other way, It's still a weak ending and if you don't understand that, it's you that lacks maturity and intelligence.

What a stupid tv show that should of ended at the 2nd or 3rd seasone. The stupidity of the show went on for to long. And the ending and explanation was horrible. All the passengers should of died in the crash and went away to spare us this idiacy we call tv entertainment today.

You know it is about journey not the destination, and the journey was mysterious but the destination did nothing but piss everyone off because it wasn't complex, or satisfying conclusion to what we where all expecting. In fact it was lame. The fact that we got it is the problem. The problem is that it doesn't make sense why we had to sit through it all.

Things weren't answered well were the point. Like Inception. They can just do whatever they want and claim, "oh its raining because you have to pee." Both create their own worlds where they can explain things and just say oh it is the way it is, but even listening to the creators, they say its about the characters and relationships. They basically were saying we didn't have an exact plan for the whys and created them as we went. People wanted their minds blown and it didn't happen.

I wasn't too big on the whole "weird sideways reality that they created to all meet each-other once they die" thing. It just seemed unnecessary...i did however find the ending on the island, quite inspiring and emotional. That was very good.
Aside from that, even if the ending was a pile of crap i would still love Lost. Im not gonna ignore all the other phenomenal writing(Dr. Linus, anyone?) that went into the show just because of one lousy ending.

Why present them at all if you're not going to answer them and just going to end it by killing everyone? My question is what was the point of all that stuff in between they put? @JohnPorkLord They did answer and explain nearly everything, all the important things anyway such as the monster, Jacob, why they were all there, adam and eve, black rock, dharma, the others, whispers, numbers, the incident, etc etc a few things like Walt and the outrigger scene weren't but things like that weren't exactly important to the story anyway. Season 6 wasn't as good as it could have been (although i still enjoyed most of it) but when people claim nothing was answered they're wrong.

Lost Finale = biggest collection of all-theory-negating disappointing crap, pulled out of an ill-inspired, plot-hole factory of a collection of writers a-holes. I seriously discourage anyone who still hasn't concluded the series, to watch it. Just let it go. Whatever plausible explanation you've dreamt up yourself for the 11,254 questions you have, is 100x better than what the writers of Lost have come up with. They flushed the series down the drain. 1/10.

Emerson is a rare case, when he praises his own acting I don't consider it anything like bragging because he's more than entitled to it. Emerson and O'Quinn made the show magical more than anybody, and yeah Holloway and Garcia and everyone was amazing, but these two...acting gods.

Although it might not be "waking up" exactly, it's still a very similar idea. It just means you don't have to explain anything! Although I can see how it was difficult to end it any other way, It's still a weak ending and if you don't understand that, it's you that lacks maturity and intelligence.
