At least the downriver tribes still have fishing seasons. The headwater Tribes of Klamaths, Modocs, and Yahooskins have not experienced Tribal fishing seasons since 1905! Over 100 years of interrupted sustinence taken away! Life taken out of the mouths of all our babies since 1905! And the USA's CDC speaks out against native cooking and wants us to learn White America's cooking foods with their cooking methods for survival! CDC is full of BS! Native Cooking has kept us here for Centuries!
A few dams have been taken down in the Santa Barbara and Venturs areas.Why not further up north?..Now,I'm going to apologize ahead of time for this,being part Yurok,Hokan anf Nataqua myself,but---the Yahooskins??? Here in the L.A. area however,the DWP has gone up in all the local canyons and capped evry spring and redirected evry stream.Even in Big Tujunga and the Angeles National Forest...And the cooking thing.That goes way back.
I feel for this group. I really wish the dams were gone. However, Warren Buffet has never been one to interfere with an idividual company's polices or way of working. He trusts them to do what is best for their buisness. I really hope the company sees the light though, or one of the local politicians there.
