How can you claim to be protesting peacefully when you've left a trail of destruction to property behind you? Innocent people who supposedly had nothing to do were arrested and don't blame the police for that, you protesters are to blame because your too much of a fucking coward by covering your face. you may also want to take a look at what the legit protesters were saying, they defended the actions of those few so if they're not part of the protesters they why back them up? b/c they probably support those actions, they are just as guilty. The police were also well within their right, they and the Olympic security contingent moved in to keep the area around the games secure and if that meant they had to be a bit rough, well the damage they caused didn't help the police rethink what they were doing. The choice was obvious.

The masks are to show solidarity as a single unit as well as to keep away from the prying eyes of the authorities cameras.
The buildings smashed were mostly building with some sort of symbolism.
The protests have been non-violent, with no physical harm being done onto innocent people - Property damage =/= violence.

Peaceful protest is legal right now. If enough of that sort of shit happens at high end events, protesting may soon be declared illegal. Part of a plan to basically introduce (slowly) the need for a "police state" (put bluntly).

Maybe you do not realize the debt, homeless people, and what it means for the post-Olympic classes weak. The police were also well within their right, they and the Olympic security contingent moved in to keep the area around the games secure and if that meant they had to be a bit rough, well the damage they caused didn't help the police rethink what they were doing. The choice was obvious.

I've seen this exact type of covert protest many times, and the police are ALWAYS far to easy on the destructivet protesters. In some cases, the destructive ones were discovered to BE cops. To me, that explains their leniency.
