Everyone HATES this game, however I know what the game was intended to do. and it "almost" seceeded.

it was ment to do the following

~show how dinosaur reincarnations would look like if it was possible. they seceded with that

~show off the Xbox's better graphics. again they seceded this was a very beautiful game for its time (like DC1, and DC2 where)

~make a good story, and gameplay physics. THIS IS WHAT THEY FAIL'D HORRIBLY AT!! the physics and story where total shit. Which in turn made it BAD!

I read somewhere that this game wasn't intentionally supposed to be Dino Crisis 3. It was an original game but because Capcom couldn't think of a title, they decided to slap the name on it and call it 3.

it looks strange how those things are badass and scary in the cutscene and how easy they're eliminated in the actual gameplay. It just doesn't fit :D

i was a huge fan of Dino Crisis 1 and 2. never had an xbox, if 3 was for Ps2 I'm sure I would have played it. The difference in time, setting and characters is a little too much of a change of pace. 2 was already a far enough stretch in gameplay. 3 looks like it went further down that road instead of going back to its origins. at the end of the day I never felt compelled enough to go out and try it.

The T-rex was shit in real life. Because of it's stubby little arms, it couldn't hunt properly. It had to wait for others to catch prey, then scare them off. nothing more than a big stompy scavenger. (That's a popular theory anyway).

@killzonesoilder #2 is incorrect, it wouldn't explode, it just wouldn't go off at all since there is no oxygen in space and you need hydrogen (2/3 of oxygen) to start a fire, hence why stars are made mostly of hydrogen

One of the missed potentials that this game could've developed would be a choice between multiple party members accumulated over the course of the campaign. Each member could've boasted their own type of weapon, the main rifle, double of that single handed weapon, grenade launcher and so on.

It may have detracted from the feeling of being alone and struggling to survive though.

DC3 was innovative. It was a letdown only because of the lame camera system and disloyalty to the first two. (Talking about disloyality, nothing beats Far Cry 2 - which is actually a fine game too.)

If you asked "What happened to Capcom" being concerned about this storyline, I would rather question why they decided not to make Dino Crisis 4 for so long. The retirement of a franchise is far more miserable than having some poor sequels.

ugh i really disliked this game... Some decent ideas thrown in but they took a MASSIVE step backwards i thought in regards to the genre. It went from surival horror in DC 1 and 2 and then they went and turned it to some sort of half-ass arcade shooter with this game. There was never a moment in DC3 where i got a shock.
