I love your intro ''..more about the ART than the science''. I myself love to practice the basics & master all the correspondences etc. However, this has also stopped me from progressing from the basic thelemic rituals to something like goetic magick. Simply because I cannot attain magickal weapons by crowleys design...This video has encouraged me to worry less about that kinda stuff and go more with the art...

    Thankyou!

  • Thank you very much! The highest aspect of art is improvisation, isn't it? ;0)

  • Your videos are some of the few I watch more than once. I've always enjoyed the concise and simple way the German people have of explaining things.

I think it would be interesting and helpful if you could make a series (22) of each backward path. With maybe an intro for a total of 23?

I haven't seen anything on youtube about this and you obviously are well informed and familiar with Grant.

Ask not want not, right? :0

  • it's also preferable to avoid designing rituals that require participants to fly, to disappear, to play banjo or walk through solid objects :)

( well i was checking out Aiko flying animations which was fun )

well i take it back, you can have rituals involving flying, in secondlife and other machinimas :)

  • Actually, about ten years ago (so before second life), there were some dudes in germany that wrote a magick mod for half-life to perform traditional rituals online. I still wonder how boring that must have been for the candidates during those rituals where the candidate was blindfolded most of the time... :0D

  • mmm I bet... hehe

  • That would be an interesting read, the Typhonian Trilogy, very useful combinding the two, thanks great video as always.

  • Actually it's three trilogies... and they are really magickal, having an effect by just owning them. With one of my copies it was extremely strange: I had to order it (as always) and it took very long until it arrived. When I went to the store to pick it up the guy made a mistake (that I didn't correct) and I payed the dollar price in Deutschmark, which was about half the price the book did cost. And I learned a lot from that tome...

  • nice opening sequence.

  • Thank you very much! Little Levi A. Thundings is sometimes a little difficult to handle...

  • I would hardly equate my past rituals to making love lol ...I could definately sharpen my skills

  • Well, it's both acts of art... when done with the right understanding of what one (or two) is doing... ;0D

  • hmm true... Well aren't you lucky that making art comes so naturally to you ; )

  • Well, sometimes it's a little bit exhausting... ;)

  • The Tree of life is really a roadmap, that shows where all energy originates, and where it manifests. From Kether to Malkuth.

  • Oh, yes! The TOL is great! Especially when you connect it to the chakras. The connection between the hebrew system and the indian yoga systems goes at least back to the times of Alexander the Great. But Kenneth Grant describes a completely different connection, I think his "Typhonian Trilogy" would be very interesting for you... you have the right sense of humour to not misunderstand it. ;)

  • Awesome vid! With the holiday coming up, I am looking to make a solitary ritual for Lammas. I haven't really celebrated it properly yet..celebrated Mabon with a group which was awesome, and of course have been to a Samhain in the park which was beautiful. Something about harvest this year feels more significant....

  • Thank you! Well, I learned a lot in that lodge while serving as a "master of ceremony", who does not much, but has to oversee the whole ritual and aid the chairmaster in celebrating the whole thing properly. And writing the setlist for concerts with my bands was a kind of training for rituals, too... the ritual has to create a certain kind of "flow". If you like to I can help you with arranging your rite. :)

  • Will let you know :) I am kind of in a pickel so to speak, because I don't neccisarily consider myself pagan, Thelemite, or Wiccan...just a spiritual soup with influenes in each and the ever unpopular Christianity as well lol! :D I haven't been to a public sabbat in a long time...(bout six years now) :)

  • Well, I prefer the free-rocking chaosmagickal path (the "funambulatory pathway"), what basically means that I use what I want to use. My offer to help you is basically about checking the rite's flow and maybe asking some questions to make you find your style and what feels right for you.

  • Cool :) I will contemplate a bit on some themes for it. Usually though it's something really simple with me like smudging and then sitting in meditation for a bit...maybe a libation since it is a harvest or something...

  • I wish I could have seen this 10 years ago. I got my peanut butter and jelly sandwich on my 777 now. It's become my morning reader along with a book on mediums by Kardec. It's taken me a long time to understand some of these basic concepts you refer to. I remember walking the streets of Seattle making a parody of the victorian verbage Crowley so loved. It really did seem a bit much at the time but I'm just grateful that things seem to be coming together for me now.

    Thanks again my friend.

  • Solve et coagula... or as the saturnian brothers phrase it: we have to dissolve and re-crystalize our self over and over again.
