Yeah! It's an Aviat Husky on floats using a guided flotation device for remote water landings. The handicam he is using is probably a Sony VC-12 on spot check somwhere in Europe.
Come one! This is no "Challenger II" this is a Husky! You guy's do not know your aviation.... please. If you do not know aviation; then please do not comment on such a beautiful Sea going Husky, Aviat.
This was probably filmed in Europe during the Summer months too....
Cessna 172 is what I use to fly. If you cannot see that this is a Husky then you never flown one to date mate. Look @ the tail section..... it has floats and struts. Cessna182tpilot, sorry to make you feel bad; but you are wrong on this one mate.
Look @ the speed. It is slow and smooth just like the Husky. Bright yellow indeed!
Aviat makes great aeroplanes... just like this one mate.....)
I'm just Kidding Mate! :)p Just having a little fun with this site. Saw the other comments and figured I'd chime in too. No worries mate... it is a joke. This is not at all a Husky! -And this is no Europe in the Summer time..... )
Pardon me if I got you this fired up. It is a joke i was playing.....
Haaaa..... No worries mate! Will keep at'em! Sorry again for the getting you "Pissed Off" HAaa! :D
Heah! Anytime you would like to chat about Aviat, Husky's please let me know. I would some day just love to purchase one when finances allow. I have never riden in one, but I am told by some Alaskan forest rangers that it is a beautiful aircraft to fly and camp in. Is this true?
F.E. Potts', Guide to Bush Flying I have read over and over again and man what a book! Here in Oregon we have the Lancair, (Now Cessna) and Glasair aviation plants to marvel over. Although, I love the Husky's! May you please include any and all websites on this page of your most interesting finds? It would be a treat.)
@Aonexia Looks like a Challenger II to me... I mean I am by far not an expert... but look at the tail... in the video it is edged... the husky images are with rounded tails. The cockpit is open, and there's no way it has those huge floats that a "husky" has... at least the ones found at this website: aviat's website ... it MUCH MUCH more resemble a challenger II
That is a "Challenger II" made by Quicksilver. A very nice "push-prop" model and fun to fly. a good buddy of mine bought one (out of the box) and assembled it in a hanger in Lincoln, Ca. It cost him $20,000.00 bucks. It was nice though with the electric start. He told me that with the right tune up, it would max out at around 110 m.p.h. I know this is accurate because one day we flew it and on final approach, we were gliding in at 80 m.p.h. at no problem and set down at 50. It flew very nicely.
These people don't know much about ultralights. This Plane is a struted drifter two seater tandam. A Quicksilver MXL 2 is a side by side. Quicksilver only made an enclosed side by side called a GT500.
Can you please tell me how you made this?
