Umm I thought that Pope uses his faith to protect himself... why does he need an army and stuff? Is it really necessary in order to protect the christian phylosophy? Believing in Jesus... It belongs to the Holy See and not to the Vatican State. This means that if the Pope had to change his residence, the Swiss Guards would move along with him and not stay in VC to protect it. m8 vatican soldiers are made to walk nice and dress nice, but they are not trained to fight.. they are real nice showers, but vatican dont even need a real army, its not in any danger, the soldiers have middle ages weapons, they are trained to look nice and walk stright, but not fight

Everyone of them has gone through the Swiss Army's training as a regular Swiss conscript where they are trained on modern weapons. They then apply, compete actually for a spot in the Swiss Guard but to be eligible they have to be Catholic of good morals and from only certain Cantons in Switzerland. If selected they then continue their weapons training w/ more medieval stuff as well as pistol training etc.(it used to be micro-uzis?) as well as keeping current w/ the SIG assault rifle.

m8 vatican soldiers are made to walk nice and dress nice, but they are not trained to fight.. they are real nice showers, but vatican dont even need a real army, its not in any danger, the soldiers have middle ages weapons, they are trained to look nice and walk stright, but not fight

@davidds0 Actually, they receive extensive training, first by the Swiss Army, and then at the Vatican. Hidden inside their uniforms are pistols, submachine guns, and/or assault rifles. The level of training they receive increased dramatically after Pope John Paul II was nearly assassinated in 1981.

US and UK are total pussies. Nobody can stop the Swiss guard. Gun power does not get through their metal armor and they are always moving, so it is not easy to get them ABC weapons/artillery.

There are hardly any extremists in Britain, it's nowhere near as bad as most pople say it is. Not one church in the UK (that's a fact) and probably in the world has ever been turned into a mosque.
And they are not no go areas, you can go there if you want, you just don't want to. But believe me there really are no go areas for Muslims.

I wouldn't discount the Swiss Guard. They are an elite trained army. There are more twisted nuts out thier trying to off a pope the most world leaders.
The Rangers, Delta, Seals ect serve the same purpose to serve and protect. The vatican is considered a country with in a country. The Swiss Papal Guard is thiere army...however the swiss guard wear thier dress uniform 90% of the time. Whilst most others have dress uniforms for certain events.
