Ive noticed that the amiga fanbase can be incredibly biased and elitist...WITH GOOD REASON! Their system was wwwaaaayyy ahead of its time so in that regards it's bundled in the same category as the dreamcast. The OS was a blast to use and i suspect upgrading from something like a zx spectrum or even a C64 must've been like going from a pergeot 305 to a aston martin db9!
The real problem with Amiga was that the whole range of multithreaded bells and whistles were overwhelming the processor and mass storage, while singlethreaded TOS for ATARI made it professional workhorse as well.
still have A500 with the box as you show at first frames of the video. It's still a great machine. Many of us learnt(looking a the top side of screen) a 1meg was 1024576 bytes!! .it was very useful for knowing if a program was loading :) . And yes, multitasking was a shock: i had a 3d program rendering at the background while i was doing others task like wordprocessing. And about WB3.1 on Amiga500, i think at Escom era, u can buy a 3.1 ROM kit an d install it. Thx for the video!!
i have a C=128 with multitasking enabled at NaOS (made in part by me ;) ), with 512 expansion card and i can run lots of applications at once... but be patient ;)
i can run D.O.S. based games, too and compatibles..
I went with my Dad in Nov '92(maybe the wrong year) and I had a choice between Atari or Amiga for xmas present (very lucky boy 'eh!) and there was no contest. I had played Stunt Car Racer and Buggy boy on a friends Amiga the week before.
I also did my homework on Amiga and printed it out, the first true Geek in my class! Good times.....
Ah, brings back the old days...I had a 500 and later a 1200. ha! I remember playing around with the cursor editor. Dune 2 was an excellent game. Have you played Obliterator? I'd love to see a clip of that...thanks for the vid. :)
Yeah I know that WB 3.1 works on a 500 ; )
But it look like it runs alot less smoother or is that the recording equipment ?
Amiga for the win !!!, not WINdows ; )

With my A500, I used to drag the main window down to see running at the background a 3d Graphics rendering software...running at the same time!!
By the way, thank for the video. Stunt Car Racer is a wonderful game!!
