  • Lalalala,la la la la la -Hark it'a a new Frank Sinatra..Which is way better than another folk singer! -I just love this song

  • Cracker rocks!!

  • ....and that's why the 90's where cool friend's.

  • @Skyedward1313 I'm sure if early 90s bands were put on American Idol or some such ilk they'd be sent packing...

  • @Schimmel1972 i cant tell if your joking or not, the fact that American Idol is the way to go about testing for musical talent.... ya.. I'll take it as a joke. Good one :)

  • What the world needs now is milk and cold zingers while I smoke a bowl to my head.

  • I would go see these guys in a heatbeat...and there better be planes, trains, dogs and dirtbikes.

  • Jim Beam never tasted better than to to this track.

  • @HotelBar83 I will have to test this for myself!

  • Maybe I've had one too many Dortmunders but I think this song ranks in my top 25 favs of all time.

  • crazy train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was just great/

  • A great song

  • Love when the drummer's all running like he's tripping at the camera during 'fa la la la la la la la la'.

I still think of that line every time I see an overly earnest pseudo-folkie playing in a coffee shop...

  • Beer Meee!!!!!!!!

  • Cracker - Nirvana for the thinking man. Bring back the 90's dude, when bands played true guitar rock.

  • Cracker is the mad note. David Lowery can be a bit much.

  • The lead singer is a fabulous dresser!

  • Check out CRACKER live in concert at the Indie West Fest 2011! June 4th Ventura, ca

    indie west fest dot com

  • ROCK N ROLL LIVES.

  • It's an all Cracker playlist tonight!!!! (Copious amounts of brown liquor) So I feel like adding that this is such a great Petty song....

  • Sounds like the new Social D song, Machine Gun Blues.

  • I saw Cracker and the Smithereens open for the Stray Cats at Asbury Park beach in the Summer of 1992.

  • sooooo good. real rock and roll.

  • This was the best show I saw in '91-'92...with Social Distortion and the Vulgar Boatmen being in the running as well.

  • Haven't heard this one since college. Had a great time at many keggers with this tune. THANKS for uploading it!

  • this band should make a new album

  • @longdock133 Yes! But the EXCELLENT Sunrise in the land of milk and honey is from 2009, so...

  • I heard this sing on the radio last month for the first time...found it a couple days ago...can't get enough of it!!!

  • @killtroy811 song...I'm drunking...slurring my typing

  • True words of wisdom like LA LA LA LA LA is still one of my all time favorite lyrics

  • Tremenda canción !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Early 90's music was the best even though I did not realize it at the time.

  • Cracker is the shit.......

  • Personally I was listening to Cracker, Nirvana, NIN, Pixies and all the great bands of the era....

  • @jimbagya Me too!

  • will see them up front and personal at the Windjammer SC this Friday night!

  • This video should have 50 bazillion views. For my money, this might be THE song of the 90s. Cracker...an under-appreciated band if ever there was one.

  • This video is strikingly similar to 'Someday I Will Treat You Good" by Sparklehorse ( V2hBIK5QrhY ). Almost same scenario, almost same bike, almost same dogs. But this one is from 1992, the video by Sparklehorse is from 1996. Very strange coincidence anyway.

  • @sorbole750 Sparklehorse has some serious connections to Cracker

  • @sorbole750

i assume you are serious. mark linkous was crackers guitar tech. this is the farm he lived on that's he and david riding the motorcycles. I think david is riding the motorcycle in the sparklehorse video.

  • @crackerrocks Man....You guys are all over it. I love that shit. Must learn something new everyday, and I'm now well informed. Thanx!!! Can't see a good side veiw of Moto, but I think it's a 1977 Yamaha IT 465. Great bike, Great Band, Crap on EMI 9 out of 10 times!!!!

Anyone Know of what Studio or otherwise Cracker does their recording now or lately? ? ?

  • ShastaspritelillinguiniBravo!!!

  • I am dancing in my office chair.

  • Is that Howard Stern playing the drums?

  • One of the best shows I've ever seen was Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven. Miss those days.

  • @daveyb1972 +100 to Camper Van Beethoven.

  • Amazing tune...never gets old

  • that is wisdom i laughed at

  • i finally got to see cracker last week, it only took about 18yrs since this release but i always loved this band, they just dont come to connecticut very often

  • VINTAGE '92, i miss the rootsy simplicity honestly

  • @setzerlock sup you dickless troll??

  • What a great song. I remember hearing Cracker for the first time in my early teens, but I didn't fully appreciate how great they were, or how much this first album rocked.

  • Check their web site for tour dates. This is one band you have to see live. UNREAL. Coming to NYC Jan 15th 2010.

  • I always missed the person getting hit by a train back in the day... Great song!

  • Cracker is legendary!

  • While everyone else was rockin' out to Nirvana, my life was being changed by Cracker.

  • amen brother

  • @fizzygillespie,as they did for me,too..saw 'em 7 times, and they just kept getting better..Cracker-last great pure rock band.

  • think i'll drive to find someplace to be "surly"....

This first album was soooo fucking brilliant!

Dr. Berniece is possibly the most beautiful song ever!!!

  • she got hands like a man

  • with hair on the back........she'll crush you in her embrace.

best song on an equally amazing album!

  • haha, yup, great album.

  • This is it. Why anybody even bothered making music after this is beyond me, because anything less than this is an epic fail.

    Excellent.

  • @michaeltgrace ,Right on bro, the song is so shallow yet so deep- if ppl. get it. Love it.. A very under rated band and it took me a while to find out who the band even was. Also props to YT and who posted. Rock on. .

  • what the world needs now is a new frank sinatra so i can get you in bed

  • This is one of the best tunes ever written. My Fav from Cracker

  • white cracker music

  • Cracker........the Shit.........

  • back when music was good

  • the world needs a labotomy.

  • What the world needs now is people to rediscover this song - deep cut, oft forgotten - what an era of music

  • Stream of consciousness on the comments:

What the world needs now is another government run program.

Why does this song remind me of

    "Secret Agent Man"?

They all be Crackers in this band. (wink)

  • Good song....why the fuck are you all putting up percentages?

  • It has been reported that 92.47% of all percentages are wrong.......

  • i love this group, this and tits

  • Couldn't have said it better my friend...

  • Fucking Cracker= Bad motherfuckers....LOL

    Great tune!!!

  • i was in a pool hall in providence rhode island and these guys were the band. it was spring of 1992. "some band id never heard off" they were great. i was on a road trip from college. i bought the cd as soon as i got home.

  • JokerneckQ

    Some

    Times

    Joking

    ......

    Sometimes

    We'll!!!!!!

  • when i was young i always liked the line. A V8 engine is all i need. reminds me of high school when u didnt worry bout gas. a great era. know days the world needs more cracker

  • Cracker's newest album, just released this past May, rocks just as hard. Get it, it's called Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey.

  • I've bought it as soon as it came out! GREAT rock record, maybe their best since Kerosene hat! At least their "rockiest" record since Kerosene hat!

  • man, Dave Lowery is awesome... Camper Van Beethoven & Cracker are both great bands :D

  • awesome setting

  • Best band of th 90s ..by fucking far

  • i remember when they were on The Dennis Miller Show and did this song. the guitar player was in a short blue dress. Dennis was boppin' and tappin' his pencil like a mad man. when it was over he said something like "Now that's a song that makes you want to put your short blue dress on"

  • wow. i was at a pool hall in providece RI, and these guys were playing. the guitar player was wearing a short dress. i didnt really notice until half way through the night. they were awsome. they were unknown at the time, and were really just back ground noise at the pool hall. they were great.

  • I saw them on Letterman and David remarked to Paul "the guitar player was wearing a skirt" They were fantastic

  • I honestly had no angst until I hit my 20s....

  • guitar riff in the beginning is awesome..David Lowery, reminds me so much of Woody Harrelson..hopefully he doesn't have his temper..lol

  • People immediately remember Nirvana, Pearl Jam first coming onto the scene and the whole grunge thing taking over music industry... but during this time ('91-'92), this song was extremely popular as well. It was #1 song on the modern rock charts for a couple of weeks. Based on its initial popularity, Teen Angst might possibly by the most forgotten about song of the early-mid 90's alt/grunge era. (and believe me, there are many, many songs from that era that were popular then, but not now)

  • i was 2

lol when the song came out

  • my favorite song by them is mr.wrong. lol. and this song

  • I was all of 7 when this song came out. Damn look what I missed.

  • lol I was 8

  • I was only 12 when this came out and 14 or 15 when Kerosene Hat was released, so I wasn't really old enough to appreciate good music. Damn, what a band.

  • David Lowery is the shit!

  • this whole cd is awsome one of the few that you can listen to start to finish and not get sick of.

can i take my gun to heaven?

  • David Lowery-what happened to you. you have talent!

  • Every time I hear this song I fire up my Suzuki and take a ride ( =

  • what U say??? U seem to have problems you might want to examine. I don't hear any politics in this tune, dude.....

  • Comment removed

  • We don't need either party. We need a revolution. A major shakeup. Let's face it. The country is stagnant because these two parties serve only to oppose the other now.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from

time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from

time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

    ~ Thomas Jefferson

  • Goddamn right. Level DC and start all over.

  • here here!!

    my thoughs as well.

  • Avidity, I humbly disagree.

Have u considered the possibility that both parties only appear to "oppose" ea other, bcs they're both really opposing all of us, to serve their masters, the Fortune 500, & the 2% of Americans that own over 50% of all wealth (true!)?

Could that be y they can't pass health-insurance reform that'll actually work, even tho over 70% of Americans want that?

Or y they killed the estate tax, causing over 1/3 of the deficit, to benefit only 2% of the pop?

  • A) Statistics mean nothing without their sources.

    B) The Health Care will tax people because they manage to become successful whether or not they're part of that "evil" elite or not.

    C) Do you REALLY want to discourage the people who hold 50% of the nations economic power in their pocket? Think about what they could do.

  • 70% want free health care ?

free sounds great but we all know nothing is ,,, and this plan is nothing but

    another pyramid scheme.......

  • A very young Cracker. The Cracker album is their best in my opinion.

  • hey its just good

  • Yeah !!! Total chaos !! More smashing guitars and destroying drum kits and motorcycles and guns and hookers and bombs going off and explosions !! They should have burned that barn at the end. Damn thing's about to fall down anyway.

  • heybigtex must have a hard time looking for cd's, because every place that sells them labels them to a degree by their genre, not by their Country of origin.

  • cracker isn't country alone, i don't think. i mean it has the roots of country but it's too heavy to be country...ya know what i mean? it's too awesome to be country...its gotta be alternative, cuz this stuff is THE SHIT!!! YEAH!!! cracker owns. they're one of the bands whose new stuff sounds good along with their old stuff. cracker owns.

  • It's American, which is a country.

    Alternative to what?

    Embrace your hayseedness.

  • referring to musical genres. taylor swift = country. johnny cash = country. and no shit america is a country. alternative to the mainstream shit that the recording industries pump out day by day, like all american rejects or fall out boy or some shit like that.

  • As soon as you get over the genre business, you'll understand what I'm telling you. For example, Taylor Swift is about as "country" as new curtains from China. Quit worrying about genres, look for quality.

Cracker are an excellent alternative a lot of the shit pumped out. But they're not "alternative."

  • i'll take you're word for it...

  • This is rock if you look it up

  • is cracker concidered country

  • They are a grunge era rock band.

And a pretty good one at that.

But this song sounds like modern folk rock.

  • kick ass stuff. who are cracker?! need more of them i think!

  • Have a look at their site, crackersoul !

    Then buy their albums.

  • kick ass beat, lyrics are crazy, i remenber when we called it alternative music, when this camr out. what a jam. i still love .i sing it on karaoke all the time
