The point is that all microsoft can do to keep up with the other cutting edge operating systems is to release a new version copying features from other OSs. I am becoming primarily a Mac user now, but still use my Windows XP/Linux machine daily. I totally agree that the user is the source of "the suck" but I've really grown tired with the lack of real evolved UI over the spectrum of window's lifetime. OSX is really a beautiful piece of aesthetic architecture.

I have a presentation that outlines a very simple scaled down three tiered application an enterprise developer would build with a database, SOAP services in the middle tier and a user interface which is the client. It can also be deployed to users simply by copying the files to a web server and it updates itself automatically if a new version is copied to the server. Business rules are stored in the middle tier and it is built in a three panel layout style.

Linux is Open Source and FREE. PC Manufacturers pay a licensing fee for Windows for each machine sold. Your Windows Disk can only be used for your machine only. So No Windows can't be installed on anything. Try getting Windows Media Player or Internet Explorer off your system...you can't do it. Try to buy a PC at a store..without WIndows..maybe they might have a few models with Linux preinstalled. But, otherwise..part of your money will go to Microsoft...like it or not. That is a MONOPOLY.
Actually I have removed IE and media player from my system, it was actually very simple to do as they are removable components, you don't seem to know very much if you cannot do that little task, so you fail.

WRONG...you can remove IE and WMP from the Shortcuts and Start Menu..but this doesn't remove it from your system. So they are not removable components. If you uninstall IE 8 in Add/Remove Programs..it only removes the update..IE 6 is never listed in the list..because it is BURIED IN WINDOWS.

Comparing PC gaming to the Wii or any other console for that matter is Apples to Oranges for one thing. Consoles nowadays are essentially gaming PC's, albeit weaker, but still the internals are like a PC. So if you are looking at the sales of consoles (including PC) the PC is last. And as far as your apps argument goes, I would rather have less software and all of it be the best software, then more software and most of it be crap. And as far as PC gaming goes well, that's 1 advantage of windows over mac.

we charge $500 because it's quality products. When u buy pc you look at stuff like 2g ram, 250g HD, etc... right? the 2g of ram most don't know if it's dd3 or dd2... in most cases it's 4g or ram of DDR2. Apple has DDR3 install 1066mb. Hard Drives on iMac standart 7200RPM where standard pc's 5400, i can go on and on... Pc's are cheap parts put together in a cheap cases. Some pc's are good though, and they run more expensive than macs. Macs are made to work together.
Apple makes over priced laptops. U can get the stuff they put in those laptops for half the price with a pc. If apple would make their OS support other computers but their own, then they would be good, but until then fuck OSX

You maybe are referring to home built systems in which case that may or may not be true. HP and Dell on the other hand have very clean systems that rival any Mac. As for the parts they use you should do your home work because even Apple's hardware is manufactured in China, and now that Apple went with Intel, the chipsets are similar. If Dell has junk inside of it, you can bet that Apple has similar junk as well - don't fool yourself. As for the OS, Windows is not the only option.

ive compared windows 7 and osx 10.5.6 directly using cinebench, photoshop, zbrush and several other applications and benchmarks and my Core i7 based system actually performs better in osx.
A "little bit of speed and glamour" -- I think you haven't used Windows 7. It's LIGHTENING fast compared to Vista and XP, and just as fast, if not faster than OSX.
The new taskbar blows away Mac's dock - and features like Aero Peek remove the need for something like Expose, the peek gives you full size windows, instantly.
Look around, even the mac junkies are pretty much saying that the Windows 7 taskbar annihilates OSX dock.
The new UAC handling, better tray handling, etc... better than OSX.
The windows taskbar doesnt annihalate the Dock. I still prefer the dock to the windows 7 taskbar. Thats my opinion. You can't deny that. As long as people still think the Dock is better. Then the talkbar will never be superior.
ive been a PC user for my entire life. Im 29 now and in the last few months I have spent alot of time with OSX.
A friend of mine does programming and got a macbook through work and after playing with it, i was very impressed by the interface and how solid it runs.
I did some research and bought a version of OSX and with some tweaking, i was able to get it installed on my gateway laptop (made for vista)...since install it hasnt had a lockup, error, panic...nothing.
7 RAPES osx. I use macs and I hate em. They are like a reversed engineered version of windows. Windows is 10x more straight forward. When i tell it to do something it will do it. If a program crashes i can always end task and start up a new one. When a program doesn't respond on a mac. The system sometimes locks up or gets the color wheel of death. Anyway my pc can easily out preform any imac.

what i like about windows is that if you don't like something it is always changable vista to slow? disable useless services, set powerplan to high performance, use the tweak for the boot up that enables more than one of you cores to boot(make boot ALOT faster, you can even use readyboost which is very good and works.

look i am running windows 7 beta on 768MB of RAM 2.2GHZ 64bit single core proccesor AMD and it is a 4 year old computer i have 6GB of readyboost flash drives and i have my power plan set to high performance my computer so far is about as fast as a 4GB - 6GB ram computer running vista home premium and i have used them in stores and my friends computer so i know it is that fast windows 7 is actually faster than OSX in my tests

There's a reason 90% of computer users are on a PC, and less than 9% use Macs.
There is also a reason 90% of Mac users have Windows installed on their system as well.

The point is that all microsoft can do to keep up with the other cutting edge operating systems is to release a new version copying features from other OSs. I am becoming primarily a Mac user now, but still use my Windows XP/Linux machine daily. I totally agree that the user is the source of "the suck" but I've really grown tired with the lack of real evolved UI over the spectrum of window's lifetime. OSX is really a beautiful piece of aesthetic architecture.

I have a presentation that outlines a very simple scaled down three tiered application an enterprise developer would build with a database, SOAP services in the middle tier and a user interface which is the client. It can also be deployed to users simply by copying the files to a web server and it updates itself automatically if a new version is copied to the server. Business rules are stored in the middle tier and it is built in a three panel layout style.

Microsoft is a Monopoly in the Business World...they are almost a monopoly in home computers. It sucks because it can suck...and get away with it. They keep copying Apple and add features that people want..and keep the legacy too..because they can get away with it. Manufacturers tried to sell Linux on Netbooks..but the lack of development and consumer's lackluster response..won out. I hope Apple never sells out OS X...because its the hardware/software coupling that makes Macs so superior to PCs.

Linux is Open Source and FREE. PC Manufacturers pay a licensing fee for Windows for each machine sold. Your Windows Disk can only be used for your machine only. So No Windows can't be installed on anything. Try getting Windows Media Player or Internet Explorer off your system...you can't do it. Try to buy a PC at a store..without WIndows..maybe they might have a few models with Linux preinstalled. But, otherwise..part of your money will go to Microsoft...like it or not. That is a MONOPOLY.

Actually I have removed IE and media player from my system, it was actually very simple to do as they are removable components, you don't seem to know very much if you cannot do that little task, so you fail.
Also you can install Windows on any PC, unlike OSX which is locked to Macs. If you bothered reading my comment you might have had a slight understanding of my point, again you fail miserably.

WRONG...you can remove IE and WMP from the Shortcuts and Start Menu..but this doesn't remove it from your system. So they are not removable components. If you uninstall IE 8 in Add/Remove Programs..it only removes the update..IE 6 is never listed in the list..because it is BURIED IN WINDOWS.

Comparing PC gaming to the Wii or any other console for that matter is Apples to Oranges for one thing. As far as market share is concerned Windows is vastly more popular - there are many, many more apps, and of course there is the gaming aspect as well (PC gaming is a 10 billion dollar industry BTW) - whether Windows is better is just a matter of opinion. Consoles nowadays are essentially gaming PC's, albeit weaker, but still the internals are like a PC. So if you are looking at the sales of consoles (including PC) the PC is last. But the wii is first and the wii sucks, much like something else that is first in marketshare. And as far as your apps argument goes, I would rather have less software and all of it be the best software, then more software and most of it be crap. And as far as PC gaming goes well, that's 1 advantage of windows over mac.

While... everyone is certainly entitled to opinion and I definitely respect yours, something being better or worse due to what is copied DOES have to recognize all instances of ownership and incorporation into individual products in order for a valid basis of judgment to be formed. You consistently had to make exceptions to validate your take on the OS debate. If you truly believe OSX is better, then don't dance around what Windows can do as an OS or with apps, explain how Apple did it better.

we charge $500 because it's quality products. When u buy pc you look at stuff like 2g ram, 250g HD, etc... right? the 2g of ram most don't know if it's dd3 or dd2... in most cases it's 4g or ram of DDR2. Apple has DDR3 install 1066mb. Hard Drives on iMac standart 7200RPM where standard pc's 5400, i can go on and on... Pc's are cheap parts put together in a cheap cases. Some pc's are good though, and they run more expensive than macs. Macs are made to work together.

1) HDD is 7200 standard in pc's , it's 5400 for laptops but thats being replaced by SDD now.
2) DDR 3 is pointless if the HDD is too slow to get infomation from and if you're not using anything ram heavy like games or videos.
my £200 pc can out perform most macs on most tasks, since it is 2 years old.

Also PC's dont have tons of wires... they have the exact same amount as apple computers unless u get that all in 1 piece of shit which u can't do anything on. You maybe are referring to home built systems in which case that may or may not be true. HP and Dell on the other hand have very clean systems that rival any Mac. As for the parts they use you should do your home work because even Apple's hardware is manufactured in China, and now that Apple went with Intel, the chipsets are similar. If Dell has junk inside of it, you can bet that Apple has similar junk as well - don't fool yourself. As for the OS, Windows is not the only option.

ive compared windows 7 and osx 10.5.6 directly using cinebench, photoshop, zbrush and several other applications and benchmarks and my Core i7 based system actually performs better in osx.

A "little bit of speed and glamour" -- I think you haven't used Windows 7. It's LIGHTENING fast compared to Vista and XP, and just as fast, if not faster than OSX.
The new taskbar blows away Mac's dock - and features like Aero Peek remove the need for something like Expose, the peek gives you full size windows, instantly.
Look around, even the mac junkies are pretty much saying that the Windows 7 taskbar annihilates OSX dock.
The new UAC handling, better tray handling, etc... better than OSX.

The windows taskbar doesnt annihalate the Dock. I still prefer the dock to the windows 7 taskbar. Thats my opinion. You can't deny that. As long as people still think the Dock is better. Then the talkbar will never be superior.

im a true convert now..running true osx 10.5.6 on both of my "windows" PCs...
i can still boot to my windows HD if i need to...but i havent once since installing.
benchmarks even run faster in osx on these systems..very impressive

ive been a PC user for my entire life. Im 29 now and in the last few months I have spent alot of time with OSX.
A friend of mine does programming and got a macbook through work and after playing with it, i was very impressed by the interface and how solid it runs.
I did some research and bought a version of OSX and with some tweaking, i was able to get it installed on my gateway laptop (made for vista)...since install it hasnt had a lockup, error, panic...nothing.
now its on my core i7 vid incl

7 RAPES osx. I use macs and I hate em. They are like a reversed engineered version of windows. Windows is 10x more straight forward. When i tell it to do something it will do it. If a program crashes i can always end task and start up a new one. When a program doesn't respond on a mac. The system sometimes locks up or gets the color wheel of death. Anyway my pc can easily out preform any imac.

what i like about windows is that if you don't like something it is always changable vista to slow? disable useless services, set powerplan to high performance, use the tweak for the boot up that enables more than one of you cores to boot(make boot ALOT faster, you can even use readyboost which is very good and works.
don't like windows appearance that is changable with themes and online apps
in windows 7 if you hover over an icon and feel the thumbnails opens to slow change the regestry

look i am running windows 7 beta on 768MB of RAM 2.2GHZ 64bit single core proccesor AMD and it is a 4 year old computer i have 6GB of readyboost flash drives and i have my power plan set to high performance my computer so far is about as fast as a 4GB - 6GB ram computer running vista home premium and i have used them in stores and my friends computer so i know it is that fast windows 7 is actually faster than OSX in my tests
