@nimzo47ify This is what we in the racing world call a blowover... It's where the car is turned around backwards at high speed, allowing air to get under the car and picking it up.
It's like if you take a piece of paper, and then blow under it, the air lifts it up and off the desk
And it still goes back to my comment that its the Bugatti circuit and i know its not the small track this is the 8mile long track still connects with the BUGATTI CIRCUIT and who said grid is good? lmao how many people still play that? like 30 people right? that game will never compare to forza...
@forzamotorsports You're really stupid, i'm french i going to la mans each year, and i can tell you this is le mans 13km685m. Not the bugatti one. you're such a douche ....
@forzamotorsports Circuit De La Sarthe smart guy. the Bugatti is only 2 1/2 miles long with 10 turns. dont think they could fit the 24hr grid of cars on that lil fucker. Circuit De La Sarthe is over 8 miles long. the Bugatti circuit does share the Dunlop curve/chicane with Sarthe but that is it. 2 diff. tracks.
@forzamotorsports Nope, this is the part of the street course where you turn into the series of esses that lead back to the pit-straight and Bugatti cuircit
the rear did suddenly oversteer. this could has been caused by a braking mistake or too much acceleration in front of the last curve which might has been supported by ground wave or something.
the races are really hard because if something like this oversteering suddenly happens in a race on a high speed track, you cant do anything and will crash. all you can do is never being inadventertly!
This RARELY ever happens, especially when i watch racing footage...... but that blue light had my attention for the entire time i could see it... maybe im devolving
How is a lifting front end of the car in any way connected to this spin? If you lift the front end, front tyres lose grip. You get "understeer" or better yet, you lose the ability to steer. In this crash he had the ability to steer, but the back end stepped out too fast(lost grip in the back) to be able to correct it, when he spun, he started going sideway, car list all aerodynamic ability it took too much air underneath and with no downforce from aerodynamics it slightly lifted off the ground.
that car had aerodynamic problems earlier in that race, according to eurosport! apparently on the mulsanne, the front end kept lifting off slightly! that accident could've been a replay of Dumbreck's incident in 99, glad it wasnt!
@sunnysang no there's a bump on a part of the porsche curves that causes a car to lift and when these cars leave the ground even a little bit they act like big wings, especially at those speeds. so he hit the bump and it lifted his car off causing it to spin and flip :\ nothing he could have done, luckily he was alright, the Circuit de la Sarth is a dangerous one no doubt about it
youtube user "Gamer901" has video coverage of the entire 2008 24 hour race of lemans. I am not sure in what hour this crash happened. but if this car has an onboard camera, why is it that we never saw this video from this camera after the crash??
Yeah, the Muscle Milk car took it out in a three car scuffle at the 50min mark at the start. Only did front end Damage then. I think this was oil or a puncture. Love the ALMS teams but their LMP1 Lola caused some other teams grief that year. Interesting footage, as far as I know at this time of night ACO sends most of the Camera men to sleep intil about 6am, so no wonder this wasn't on TV. thx
oooh, looks like the brakes might have locked up. Also that part of the track is pretty bumpy

I would say the rear wing broke or flew off, that looked really similar to other wrecks ive seen where the back rotated that quickly.

Pretty similar to the way Rosberg and Perez crashed at monaco last weekend? The way the back suddenly goes ape-shit.

Cause its the teams own camera that they used, no TV channl had access to this camera, this footage was only released several months after the race.
