    You're joking, right? I eat McDonald's A LOT and I'm nowhere near overweight. All you have to do is eat moderately and DO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. I repeat, there is NOTHING wrong with fast food. Fat people just find excuses cuz' they're too lazy to get off their butt and use their self control!

    Yes, I have. It's gross, haha. But when I said I eat Mcdonald's everyday, I eat it in moderate portions, and balance it out with fruits and vegetables, making sure I burn all of it when I in my sports.

    and eating 'junk'food is NOT healthy regardless of whether you burn it or not, it's still processed food(filled with chemicals) going in to your system.

    You can burn the fat with exercise but not the chemicals...

  • @Manganese5 you are not fat, I went through something similar. I was 114lbs and 5'8". My health suffered even after I got up to a reasonable size and weight, I ate well, I exercised.   • Obesity is dangerous as well as anorexia... My friend had a stroke at the age of 20 coz of her weight... so she went to a vegetarian diet to help her and so far it work for her, she just stays away from McDonald and pizza and junk food and no more cola.

  • If you exercise regularly you can eat "junk" food in moderation. Like drink, people who abuse it get fat.

  • there is no benefit to obesity. You're slowly destroying your life and eventually you will kill yourself. You can't diet to lose weight. You have to change your lifestyle to eating the correct portion sizes and daily strenuous exercise to lose a significant amount of weight. I did it so I know what it takes. You have to have a definite reason and a definite goal. You cannot stop until you get there. That takes real discipline and determination. But instead people give a bunch of excuses.

  • Agreed. I'm obese. One of the things that some people think is that they can lose weight just by cutting out junk food & fast food. But it's more important to keep track of portions and exercise because you can still be fat & eat "healthy" food by eating that healthy food in larger portions and not getting any exercise.

I went from 22% bodyfat to 10%. but to learn how to get there and maintain it I had to work out with weights and cardio and watch what I eat for 4 years! short term diets have never worked and never will. I would know cause i went from having manboobs at 16 to having a six pack (well, almost, it's a 4 pack) at 19

    Not all obesity is due to overeating. Some are genetics. Still, it is ultimately the people's choice if they want to remain a marble.

  • BMI isn't always accurate. For example suppose a female softball player who is about 5'4 is over her BMI weighing 140. Female softball players have a unique mass of muscle build up mostly around their legs, buns, and hips. They store little fat, have small waists, and built upper body strength. SO people with high muscle mass shouldn't depend on BMI.

  • Obesity isn't as serious as a health threat for the individual as cancer but it's more prevalent which is why it's more of a social problem. But as long as you are healthy being a 'little' overweight is probably better than being underweight.

  • i was fat i started working out(p90x) and took care of my diet and i feel great. workout hard and eat every 3 hours and try to get sleep. remember eat every 3 hours and control ur portions. anything in excess is bad. make sure to have protien in ur diet. and a balnce with carbs. and take ur multi-vitamins this way u never get sick. and DRINK WATER!! no juices of anykind. its just sugar. good luck
