  • Amazing cover, love it *__*

  • Does anyone know the name of the vocal technique in the beginning of the song? The AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @AraxieAndPlecto It's just a scream. You basically shout at the top of your lungs with as much power as you can. :)

  • @GigaRagnaSlave haha seems like a great way to screw up your chords if you don't know what you're doing xD

  • @AraxieAndPlecto Falsetto

  • @MetalMattSnyder Thanks a bunch

  • I'm really sick and fucking tired of these fight pop comments, Metal is a niche, therefore there is less of a market, for those who are differnet, and or intelligent. Pop is for all the conformists and retards... if all the jocks at my school listened to iced earth that would suck balls. If al lthe chicks listened to it ... well being a guitarist i'd get laid alot more but I'm sure there'd be a down side there to.

  • @dreadlockjones919 LMAO this is exactly what I just thought :D

  • @dreadlockjones919 YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to listen to pop but then I took an Iced Earth album to the knee

  • @Kyussfan96 .... Shut up.

  • The more I listen to this, the more I think: This very song inspired the Battlestar Galactica series!

  • matt barlow is just showing off \m/

  • @PuDdLeS6666 Thats not Matt Barlow Its Tim Ripper Owens

  • lol dont stare at the picture. it will hurt your eyes

  • Reminds me so much of Iron Maiden <3

  • @PhilM284 Same here. I've always described Iced Earth as the raw power of early Metallica with the epic grandiosity of Maiden.

Not a band combo in my opinion.

  • i don't normally like metal but this is awesome

  • the rippers voice in this song reminds me so much of Dios.

  • @pyromaniarules I thought exactly the same^^

  • Reminds me of "Wolf" by Iced Earth

  • me gusta

  • 8 ppl need more than 10 thousand strong to win the day

  • the american power metal is not so melodic as the european (german, scandinavian) power

  • I agree... it is a Tim Owens song 100%, but Barlow has sung it live, hence the original question. Also, the song "A Charge To Keep" sounds great with Tim as the lead... and even better when Matt sings it!!

  • Is there a studio version of this with Matt singing?

  • @noblecause Are you kidding? I have a deep respect for Matt Barlow, hes a great singer but this song is all Tim Owens and i honostly cant picture anyone else singing this song as well.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ZOSOrulz1 Then it has a lot in common with your father :D

  • @ZOSOrulz1 rofl u get all thumbs down

  • and for having a great metal voice too

  • \m/ hail Tim...a true metalhead for giving tributes to Priest and Dio \m/

  • Tim shows all his rob halford influence here \m/

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • wow, cool!

I put in the search exactly "ten thousand strong" because I knew in my heart there had to be some song with the name. Never heard of Iced Earth before but this reminds me of of Arctica so I'll have to check them out i think.

  • @robertwalters Check out the "Something Wicked" trilogy. Possibly their finest work.

  • I'm new to Iced, and personally I think Matt, Stu and the Ripper are all awesome vocalists, impssible to choose a favorite ;)

  • @rkrokberg you are missing some....john greely, gene adams...also very good

  • i was walking trough a store, and i saw a picture of iced earth - dystopia(i thought it was ked earth xD , soz), the picture looked awesome, so i thought, i have to watch it at youtube. And Damn.... Its freekn awesome \M/

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • This is the first time ive had the pleasure of hearing iced earth. I belive my ears just had an orgasm... Just sayin i fukin love this music \m/

  • Dude he sounds like a young Ronnie Dio!

  • @brokusstudios Tim" Ripper" Owens sounds more like Rob Halford not Dio no disrespect to Dio may he R.I.P but no one will sound like a young Dio. Dio will always be Dio

  • @resdsox1 He sounds like a mix of Dio and Halford, and sometimes his voice has a little dash of Bruce Dickinson, but mostly Halford, yeah, that's probably why Priest wanted him.

  • @rkrokberg so he sings like 3 of the greatist singers of heavy metal? that alone would make me a huge iced earth fan.

  • \o/\o/

  • @dreadlockjones919 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "and though our hearts are broken, we have to wipe the jizz away" That's what I heard! XD

  • @brettbed i hear it too xD

  • Gods..... and nothing all @_@

  • TIM OWENS!!!!WHAT A VOCALIST!!!!

  • It just dosent get any better than that

  • Simply Epic. Adventurous

  • HIT THE REPLAY BUTTON!

  • THE TITLE IS OVER 9000!!!!

  • Hello metalheads.

Instead of a Metal rebellion i propose a new plan.

    1. Don't bash other metal artists, we must unite! We cant fight against pop music if we arent even together

    2. Watch more and more metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vid list

If you like this idea, thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and also spread it around if you like this idea

Lets show that metal kicks ass!

Copy this text in every Metal video you watch and we´re getting the power

  • @PaulTraycay you don't have to fight against pop music. Music itself is beautiful, even pop and house, as long as is born from love and commitment. We must fight against those who commercialize music and fake talent, those are the true enemies.

  • @phantasmalconcealing yeah like how they commercialized the bieber era

  • @PaulTraycay Why do we want power? Then we have the best world music, if the Metal was popular, it will become like the pop, and will thus trivializing by the radio, TV ... I prefer to keep my good group for me, that I look to see that all people deserve not to listen to and demeaning.

  • @PaulTraycay What your plan isn't:

    You didn't propose it.

    It isn't new.

  • Reminds me of the late Ronnie James Dio

  • @blahwoozle

Angel of Death by Slayer. That opening scream, and then the infamous first verse.

  • This is the second best song ever

    Gentlemen Behold Framing Armageddon!

  • I <3 POWERMETAL :)

  • The BEST SONG EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EddieTheTrooper88 same here brother same here. although S.W.T.W.C. is better :P \M/

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHGASM.

  • Was checking my upload of this song when I saw yours in the related vids, makes me feel pathetic cuz I only have 32 veiws lol

  • Comment removed

  • This is the song and album that got me into Iced Earth. The Glorious Burden is also a fantastic album.

  • epic!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH KADUSCH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

  • Their best refrain ever.

  • a great song!

  • If I get 100 thumbs ups, I'm gonna do the opening scream to random ppl for a whole day.

  • @leftysmith83 200 and you do the whole song?

  • @cubby3o5 300

  • @leftysmith83 i gave you the 100 like

  • @MetaITV Thanx!

  • @leftysmith83 and now your throat is fucked up :P

  • @AdamWarlock666 I cover alot of rock and metal songs and everyone says I kick ass but I always struggle with this song. I NEVER get it right lol. Even Matt Barlow sounds like shit when he does this song and he can sing.

  • @leftysmith83 LOL

  • @leftysmith83 have fun dude lol

  • I'm about to rape the replay button.

  • ripper is one hell of a singer awesome vocals even tho i dont like iced earth much during his era but this is one awesome shit

  • I can tell this guy is inspired by Halford. Love this guy's voice.

  • @MrRagalshnagal

tim ripper owens was in a priest cover band, and actually took over vocals in priest when halford left in the 90's

now hes in a dio tribute

  • @shogott Really? I wouldn't be surprised. He's got a godly set of vocals. Didn't know he was in a Dio tribute band. That should be good.

  • @shogott and he has a band called beyond fear aswell

  • @dellamortedellamore0 Iced Earth rules no matter who sings. They just kick everyone's ass.

  • Owens is SUCH an better singer its not even funny, this band sucked ass before Owens, and as soon as he left they returned to making horribly mediocre music that isn't even fit to pirate.

  • i've been wanting to put together a compilation of some of the best introductary vocals, i've only just started but so far i've got:

    Iced Earth - Ten Thousand Strong . . . . . Manowar - Call To Arms

Steel Panther - Eyes Of The Panther . . . Nitro - Machine Gun Eddie

    Judas Priest - Dissident Agressor . . . . . Holy Grail - Fight To Kill

i'll be doing knockouts for the best ones only, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know . . . thanks, ROCK ON ! ! \\m// >_< \\m//

  • @blahwoozle die motherfucker die- dope? not that much of a vocals song but its a rly pump up song, it could join these in a compilation.

  • @godevil1313 yeah i know that song, i myself am an "80's-70's only" metalhead most of the time. the funny thing is i was listening to that on my headphones that are broken in one ear . . . so the intro was kinda weird lol

  • @blahwoozle xD good song tho

  • @blahwoozle Pathfinder - Beyond the space, Beyond the time. They definitely need more recognition :)

  • @blahwoozle Also Dream Evil - The Book of Heavy Metal

  • @JakkaLakkaDingDing holy shit ofcourse . . . how could i forget that, i've got the album

  • @blahwoozle Iron Maiden Hollowed be thy name, starts out low and slow and it pick ups quickly

  • 7 people didn't wipe the tears away

  • I've officially fallen in love with this band.

  • continuation of my explanation of context

after they're brainwashed by the setians, the humans lose all their advanced tech and forget that they came from a distant planet. the setians lie in wait until their savior, set abominae (the dude on the album art) is born/created (however the setians produce offspring). set abominae kills off powerful human empires, but eventually realizes that the brainwashed humans are less dangerous than the originals, and spares them rather than fulfil his function

  • Some of this song (like the Setians) doesn't make much sense without context, so:

The Setians, an alien species, are living on Earth. The humans, a species that has just discovered space travel, attack it to secure the beginning of their conquest of the galaxy (see the track "Motivation of Man", space marines FTW). The Setians are massacred, but manage to keep 10,000 of their elite soldiers, who initiate "the clouding". This brainwashes the humans to think earth is their homeworld.

    continued

  • dude, i love Ripper and Iced Earth, but hes better off with Charred Walls of the Damned. that music is MADE FOR RIPPER. search Charred Walls of the Damned - Ghost Town. itll make you take off your pants.

  • why the fuck didn't they call Ripper back??? why did they take Stu Block? Ripper is an awesome singer? why did they treat him like this? And wtf is Barlow thinking? he is returning and then leaving again??!!! shit man!

  • @WarrioRAbsolutE Stu is awesome too. Fuck, I rimed.

  • @WarrioRAbsolutE

*IE* does NOT deserve a singer like Owens. If Schaffer doesn't wanna act spinelessly (what he unfortunately did in the past when he fired Ripper to take the "ordinary life pissed" Barlow back), he won't even dare asking Tim to rejoin (besides I assume he has sth better to do - no individual wants to be treated like that for a 2nd time).

  • @WarrioRAbsolutE

    2) Matt's recently made decision to leave the band is not very surprising to me - considering he left some years ago for a very weird reason (but who doesn't dream about becoming a police officer one day *hehe*). The new singer Stu is not bad but isn't able to hold a candle neither to Owens nor to Barlow.

  • this battle or wolf's cry is the best??????

  • EPIC! :)

  • Sounds like Rob Halford at times.

  • @NGib100100 well, the singer was in judas priest

  • What? Iced Earth have a great vocals, Bruce Dickinson is a good vocal, but the best of all time is JAMES LABRIE... Ten Thousand Strong, man... \m/

  • @luisslb89 James Labrie used to be good, but his voice has really went downhill. I'm not saying he's terrible, but there are definitely better vocalists out there in my opinion.

  • @cocolukia21 I can't speak for live situations, but my impression was that Labrie is much better on the last album then he ever was.

  • bruce dickinson should sing this

  • rIPPER #1 now that Halford can no longer sing...no disrespect he "waz" my favorite.

  • Ten Thousand Strong man \m/

  • So much meaning and Brutality.

  • Seeing these guys, Lamb of God and the almighty Dio 4 years ago was one of the most eargasmic experiences of my life. XD

  • @omnisearch T_T You lucky man, Dio was a huge loss to everyone. RIP

  • this song is song fking amzaing!

  • this might seem like a stupid question to you guys but im new to ICED EARTH and love them so far, is this MAtt Barlow?

  • @gearsofwolf This is Tim "Ripper" Owens singing.

  • @Nekron0221 oh ok, thanks man. i like this vocal style, what are some good songs he does?

  • @gearsofwolf Framing Armageddon. I love his vocals at the end of that song. And some Judas Priest stuff. Just look his stuff up.

  • @CrimsonFlagg i have a few Judas Priest albums, like the "nastrodamus II"

  • I keep thinking he sings *we have to wipe the jizz away* hahha

  • kinda reminds of Dio a bit, good shit

  • I think I found a new favorite song

  • Tim never gets enough credit for his stupidly powerful voice, he is usually overshadowed by other great musicians like Rob Halford or Matt Barlow which results in people complaining about him.

  • damn i think this is now one of my favorite songs now OVERKILL is my fav. band but this song is total badass!!! ICED EARTH is a kickass band it's great how you can hear one song by one vocals then hear the same song w/another vocaliest more bands should do that cuz that makes alot more fans cuz everybody has different taste. but anyway ICED EARTH FOREVER!!!

  • One of my favorite Iced Earth songs! And Ripper is perfect for this song. Barlow is awesome singer, but i dont think he couldve pulled off this song, or most of the Glorious Burden songs either, like Owens did!

  • It is not Metal, it's a MASTERPIECE

  • @Drake45100 A METAL MASTERPEICE!!

  • @Drake45100 metal is a masterpiece! COMBINES aggresion beauty evilness and melodicness, and had a good rythmn, can any other from of music accomplish that? i think not

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @agentcamo Haha

  • @agentcamo You got it all wrong man!! it's AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh!

  • @Asixtirids DAMN RIGHT!!

  • @Asixtirids DAMN RIGHT!!

  • @agentcamo sounds like a very special orgasm

  • @agentcamo you forgot the rest... HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • they are very good,...heavy and fast like demons like!!!!

  • Who's singing the vocal's in this version of the song? I have no idea who's voice belongs to who in this band.

  • i almost wanna hit dislike because its not matt barlow but just for john here's another thumbs up.

  • best song ever!!!

  • Ten thousand strong will seize the day!

  • Awesome

  • a metal masterpiece

    simply perfect

the something wicked saga could seriously be made into a fucking MOVIE, and it would kick ass

  • @JohnEddieable I was literally just talking to my friend about this today, a Two Part epic movie. Each movie would take place of each album, it would be amazing.

  • Fucking epic chorus

  • .... Six people have pressed dislike on this. SIX PEOPLE. The good news is, we now know for sure that there are at least six people in the world who are fucking retarded.

  • NOW THIS IS POWER METAL!

  • *head bangs*

These guys are epic live though I did see them with Barlow. While I didn't mind the Ripper, and would have liked to have see just one show with him for this album, Barlow ftw.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @Chimairamania bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb.... lol

  • Weird that a song (and a complete saga) about mankind`s eradication can sound so epic for human ears..... :)

    IE ftw.

  • Comment removed

  • I would start with decleration day, excellent stuff

  • This is an intensely awesome band, I thought power metal was boring crap (Sonata Antartica, DragonForce....Bad references) until I heard these guys and Avantasia. Thank you, Iced Earth!
