this anime was my favorite for sword-clashing anime 2-3 years ago. now, still after knowing sakuga n seeing amazing fighting scenes, i still consider this as a good one. there are good frames out there =\
but i guess the only good characters in the anime are Jubei, dad, n Freesia.
@Borgorg thanks for the info, it's just that having watched a lot of animes I developed a taste, and it does not include such animes, no offense meant to those who loved it. btw did you see sword of the stranger? if not I really recommend it :)
@Borgorg you r right, and I think it's not even fair to compare a realistic anime to a super powers one. it's just that from a swordfight aesthetic point of view, showing two sword edges meeting and throwing wood logs at each others no longer appreciates the value of a fight even for super power animes (well at least for me). I 'm not sure if you understood my point
@Borgorg what I really mean is I personally hate it when all you see in a fight are flash lights of swords clashes and destruction but no actual moves. unlike fights in sword of the stranger and serei no moribito.
This would've been the best sword fight if it weren't for those stupid faces appearing. Honestly it's irrelevant and only serves as comic relief when it doesn't need it. It's so epic that all comic relief does to it is kill the moment.
@HaloLvl43Legit yes and no it is good when they do it as a way to show you how very strong people feel about the fight when they do it for randomness (comic relief) then that it gets soo annoying x_x
@HaloLvl43Legit Not really. Even if the faces weren't there, there are just too much repeated frames at each scene, and alot of the movements are stop and go. Also, plenty of the scenes are like dragonball Z hwere they tried to halfwit all the movements with just blurs and shortcuts. This isn't a good sword fight. It just looks cheezy.
@realSOnoYa This was nearly a year ago and I have to admit in that time I've seen much better. But a lot of the fast paced movements need to be blurred as movements at such speeds wouldn't be caught by a human eye. While I agree it isn't the best I wouldn't go so far as to call it cheesy.
@HaloLvl43Legit From 1:57 to 2:10 That was only one pose where they could have been trying to hack and slash at each other. They are not showing the art of movement in anyway what's so ever. It's just a pose through on out. A simple moving picture with dimensions.
Good, but too over the top...Sword of the Stranger fight scenes are still the best so far

It's an amazing comedy series, very action-packed but with some twist to it, yes it's cartoonish, but it's meant to be like this.
