well, as i know when a animal live together with human (or other kind of animal) since young, they will have become accustomed to each other and become friends forever, it happens in indonesia, a crocodile become friends (even as family) with a woman and they live together for some years now and it's very strange but wonderful thing

There was an AFP article that came out about this story in which the zoo keepers said that they did plan to separate them after a month or two.
