  • Amazing! I love it!

  • brenda fricker is still alive....

  • wats the song!! it's amazing!

  • Only a standing ovation is good enough for this woman.

  • Great presentation, but the tool that introduced her was embarrassing. A 20 second speech too many hems and haws. Embarrassing!

  • Great moment.

  • It's such a touching moment but some of their faces just make me giggle - 'what am i meant to do? smile? clap?'

  • Anna Paquin???

  • I have it on good authority that this is the most beautiful woman to ever have lived.

  • Wow! Luise Rainer was still a stunner.

  • @2legit64 I saw her in person at the Royal National Theatre (London) when she was interviewed on stage (with film clips) for her 100th birthday celebration in January 2011. She was magical, enchanting, and very very funny. Oh, and still VERY beautiful (inside & out!).

  • Kirk and Michael next to each other. Like father like son.

  • Wow. Ms De Havilland, no need for teleprompter. Class Act!

  • the academy is beautiful remind so many film luminaries, i'm so proud :D expeccially. olivia de halvilland, and The start Julie Andrews

  • Still astonishingly beautiful!

  • Was there an 80th Oscar Reunion?

  • @Rentisgreat Nope, and I really want to see another one.

  • Red Buttons, Jennifer Jones, Karl Malden, Patricia Neal, Jack Palance, Cliff Robertson, and Tersa Wright have all since passed away, but their talent and legend still live on

  • Does anyone know what Barbra said?

  • - Olivia de Havilland = Epitome of class.

    - Julie Andrews deserved thunderous applause.

    - Ben Kingsley is a gent at 9:05 for telling the audience to recognize Mickey Rooney (as is Martin Landau for patting Ben's shoulder)

    - Rita Moreno is the most glamorous living legend.

    - Sissy Spacek is adorable.

    - Meryl and Barbra together? Wow!

    - Denzel Washington looked very uncomfortable when they mentioned "Training Day".

    - Catherine Zeta Jones was glowing.

The1998 reunion is still the best though!

  • @MatronicBabe Olivia de Havilland = Epitome of class... no not class ...the word is style...

Rita Moreno is the most glamorous living legend...1 million% agree with you ...

  • This is one of the most magical Oscar moments of the past decade. When Olivia de Havilland came out to "Tara's Theme" in that blue dress, I got freakin' GOOSEBUMPS!

  • oh, and how cute is the expression on Teresa Wright's face. RIP

  • It's interesting to see Luise Rainer and Julia Roberts seated together, because in a recent interview miss Rainer said she is a big fan of Julia.

  • HILARY SWANK WON HER NEXT OSCAR JUST ONE YEAR LATER !!!!!!!!!!

  • olivia is an icon

  • Where's Glenda Jackson?

  • Kirk should not be here. So was that Claude guy, Margaret O'Brien & that Hayley woman. With all due respect to Mr. Rooney too. As much I was delighted to see Mickey! They were all only winners of Hononary or Non - Competitive Oscars! Sorry to say. Now, why didn't they include Mr. Poitier although I'm not his biggest fan?

  • @ConfusedSponge I'm pretty sure they invited every living Oscar winning actor and actress at the time. If you don't see them here, they're probably either too busy, too sick or simply didn't wanna go. They should do this again on the 85th!

  • @ConfusedSponge He won an oscar for Lilies of the Field in 1964.

  • @ConfusedSponge He won an oscar for Lilies of the Field in 1964. Also, he did do the one for the 70th.

  • A ton of people missing in this oscar family album, too many to name.

  • michael douglas looks exactly like his father!!!! I also loved seeing barbs, meryl, pollyanna ;), cloris leachman, susan sarandon, julia roberts, mary steenburger, sissy spacek and what about jane fonda? she won two oscars and was nominated for a third!

  • michael douglas looks exactly like his father!!!! I also loved seeing barbs, meryl, pollyanna ;), cloris leachman, susan sarandon, julia roberts

  • michael douglas looks exactly like his father!!!! I also loved seeing barbs, meryl, pollyanna ;), cloris leachman

  • michael douglas looks exactly like his father!!!!

  • I wanna be apart of this! Acting is my dream, and I would love to be apart of movie/oscar history, and meet some of the legends of Hollywood.

  • Personally, I would have invited Joan Fontaine to this little shindig. If Olivia got invited why didn't she??

  • @senoritamercedes they were probably all invited......whether they chose to show up was probably a different matter.

  • BARBRA STREISAND!!!!

I love this dress she is wearing - regal and sophisticated!

And I love that she and Meryl Streep are sitting next to each other and seem to be enjoying themselves!

I hope they work together sometime in the future!

    (=^_^=)

  • Is BARBARA STREISAND insecure to the dress of MERYL STREEP?

  • My God....KATHY BATES smiled like she has been CEMENTED.....

    A CEMENTED-SOLID ROCK-THICKED WALL SMILE.

  • she was so beautiful and fantastic she is one of my all time best films with errol flinn and others new stars cannot compete with this verey classy lady and all the stars that were there and gave of hours of enjoyment thank you all. kevin, clark, john ,kirk burt, robert redford paul knewman. vivivanleigh jack nicolison judy garland clint eastwood kathy bates i could go on and on.

  • a cameron diaz deve ta pensando quem é essa ai ?

  • beautiful

  • engraçado é a cara da cameron diaz ela deve ta pensando quem é essa ai?

  • Olivia De Havilland, Dignified and Great Star, I just wonder if we have regressed not progressed, what we have today on screen is so violent, cruel and vulgar.

  • Such a lovely lady; all of the actors should be grateful to her, since it's thanks to her that they're not treated as mere cattle by the studios anymore (look for the "De Havilland decision").

  • A TRUE LIVING LEGEND...

  • haha Berry's action was put up and what's up with Geena's lips, they're so luscious. Purr.

  • Whoa Luis Rainer, Teresa Wright, Celeste Holme, Rita Moreno, Margaret O'brien etc all in the same room.

  • I remember being stunned and thrilled that Olivia agreed to appear that night. Still one of the most beautiful, elegant, dignified and classy actresses ever!! One of the last few who define the word "lady"!!!

  • Isn't it wonderful to see the understated Miss Teresa Wright - another 1930s legend

  • @myrnaloysboy You are right!!- I LOVE Miss Wright, and I remember when at this Oscar night I saw, here, I nearly cried. So many years without seeing her!!- A wonderful and beautiful actress, one of my fav !!- Thank u for remembering her!!- Sorry my English. Carlos

  • How lovely to see legends, Margaret O'Brien, Jennifer Jones and Miss Luise Rainer (another 1930s actress just like dearest Olivia De Havilland) and MGM star Claude Jarman Jr

  • Just look at Julianne Moore straight to her feet - she knows old Hollywood alright!

  • Oh my goodness people - we are getting close to Oscars family album in 1998!!!! ARGHHH

  • I kept having to stop myself on Hilary Swank and Daniel Day-Lewis, since they hadn't won their second Oscars yet.

It will be interesting to see how many updates will have to be made. Also, Sean Penn hadn't won either of his Oscars yet. Hmm.

  • This is so amazing. Juxtaposed among all these recent and somewhat recent winners are actors and actresses who were in movies SIXTY years ago. I can only imagine what both they and those around them were feeling.

  • There were more former winners at the 70th awards. Some who were not at that one (Tatum O'Neal, Sissy Spacek, Mary Steenburgen" made a point to attend this one. Many did not attend because the country was involved in a war. Elizabeth Taylor, who was slated to attend dropped out at the last minute. The next day papers were unanimous in panning the segment. They it stopped the show cold and made diparaging remarks about the former winners. Quite a contrast to 5 years prior when it was raved.

  • And at least a third are no longer with us. Luise Rainer remains, however, the oldest living Oscar-winner at 101.

  • @librarybob1958 @librarybob1958 as does Olivia deHavilland and Mickey Rooney, the latter who is still making movies even today. Incredible huh?

  • awkward!

  • I love this video so much, and Olivia de Havilland looks awesome!

  • How old was was Claude Carmen Jr. when he won his Oscar? I'd swear he must've been 10 at the oldest.

  • @KristianKronicles No he was older.

  • Al Pacino? Marisa Tomei? Joe Pesci?

  • @whoapacino they were at the 70th celebration.

  • If only Marlon Brando and Katharine Hepburn had been able to attend...

  • bellissimo ma manca l'oscar a Doris Day

  • @sarocammar sono daccordo con te!! Honorary Oscar for Doris Day!!

  • @TheBigValley and Eleanor Parker please

  • nice, but they are just actors...

  • Oh God!! They Forgot Mercedes Ruehl!!!!

  • woooow , the stars, one of the stars of the golden edge of hollywood

    amazing olivia

  • Ottimo...molto interessante.

  • Great moment!!

  • we also need the 70th Oscar Winner Reunion (1998)

  • @dimitrismihas Can we please have the 50th Reunion - when they did the same sort of thing with the likes of Bette Davis and Miss Edith Head etc.........................

  • @dimitrismihas i had that on tape somewhere with shelley winters sitting next to wright

  • @dimitrismihas its available....just search "oscar family album" its uploaded through someone else

  • @dimitrismihas 1997!

  • too bad oscar-winning sister, joan fontaine, couldn't have attended!

  • @VTMCompany Well maybe she could have, but I'm pretty sure that none of them would have wanted to stand next to each other:)

  • c'est émouvant une grande dame le plus grand film du monde

  • No writers or directors? . . . .

  • Very impressive! I'm watching and keep forgetting this is a bit back (in 2003) and wondering is she or he alive...we lost several of them recently...but the memories of film make it seem like yesterday...time goes by and each screen legend is immortalized. Olivia does a beautiful, touching introduction! Thank you!!

  • How lovely to see Olivia deHavilland still looking lovely. And so fantastic to see her moved by that standing ovation. But to see all those winners, from the past 75 years, is just incredible. Thank you so much for uploading.

  • Helen Hunt?

  • @jpatrick1967 It's not that the actors you mentioned were forgotten; they just weren't able to attend the awards that year. Past winners have an open invitation to the ceremony.

  • Angelina Jolie????

  • Ellen Burstyn????

  • Where was DeNiro???

  • Half the actors and actresses in the crowd are going, "Who?"

  • SECOND.

  • second!

  • Thank you for posting this. I remember this and it was so touching. She will always be one of my favorite actresses. She was amazing in every film she was in from "Captain Blood" to "Gone With the Wind" to "Snake Pit" to "The Heiress." A true living legend.

  • Oh God, I wish that Vivien Leigh was also still alive...

Well, anyway, Olivia is simply amazing, eternally.

  • FIRST.
