I think Nick is the only man that Brooke has loved the same way as Ridge. I guess it could be due to the fact that they're brothers(same biological father). Maybe it's the stuff they inherited from Massimo that makes Brooke love them.

Although, when Ridge found out that Deacon was Hope's father, he was furious and told Brooke that she found her soulmate, DEACON SHARPE and threw her out. I actually agreed with Ridge on that, I think Deacon really is Brooke's soulmate, they're A LOT alike.

After Hope was born Brooke and Stephanie, I believe asked Deacon to stay away from her for Bridget's sake. They felt that if Bridget had to watch Deacon raising this baby, it would make her feel even worse. They said that Bridget's been through enough, but Deacon wasn't going to give up his daughter without a fight. A fight where he eventually threw in the towel.
