A Chao trick: Keep chao from evolving/dieing

I tried this glitch together with a friend and we let the game run for the whole night (we were trying to get a Chaos Chao fast). Instead of a shell, we used a skull, and the chao wasn't even upset at all (after a WHOLE night...)

the only use for this i see of if you wanna age it without evolving it.

and why don't you just leave it climbing?

Can somebody tell me how to keep it from evolving?? My big brother used some sort of trick to keep his chaos from evolving. I think he did it with my chao Buddy who has lvl 52 running and he's still a baby, age 0, transformed 0 times!! Does somebody know a trick he might have used???

A normal neutral will be bluer, a darker ball thing, and a rounder tail

A normal hero will have a blue halo

And a normal dark just has a spikeball. I forgot the color because I haven't taken care of my chao in a while...

Actually, some chao that can swim will sometimes climb the wall. I did it with one of my chaos chao once :3

I just started this glitch ten minutes ago. Will the chao die or reuncarnate when u take it out?

If you just leave it alone as soon as you take it out, it will probably die. So take it immediately to the Kindergarten, leave it in the classroom so you can save, then come back as a different character and give it as much of its favourite food as you can. The chao will only die/reincarnate, if you leave it alone in its idle animation. Whenever you put the chao down, always occupy it with food or petting

Personally, I would reccomend having a backup of the chao garden save data, just in case.

How long do you have to do this? Many hours, one hour or less?

Chaos age by 1 year every couple of real-time hours.

If you just want to get the chao old enough to evolve, then 3 hours should be enough. If you want it old enough to reincarnate, then you probably need to leave it for 12 hours, though you don't need to wait that long all at once. Do be aware that there is an inherent risk of the Chao dieing instead of reincarnating if it isn't happy enough. So if possible, you should always have a backup of your chao garden data on another memory card

I don't know, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on the Dreamcast version.

The point of holding an object over the chao is to knock them back into the water every time they try to climb back up. The chao does not interact with the object in any way other than "this thing is in my way", so performing the trick using chao drives won't increase their stats. But you're always welcome to try, just in case I'm wrong.

First, get your chao to somehow be still. Now that might involve waking your Chao up, but just do it. It pays off.

Now, if you have drives in the garden, pick up the one you want your chao to have good skill in, stand kind of close (not really close, or this won't work) to your Chao, facing it, and drop it. If done correctly, the Chao should gain the stats needed out of the usage of the drive, and when it's done the drive will float back behind you. The drive will be floating while in usage. :D

it will effect other ones due to neglect,so put them behind the fallen pillar so it wont count as neglect or copy the chao and paste it on a different game card and do it,and its like the chao are just sitting there with GIANT eyes and running away screaming

you don't have to do the egg part, just leave it against the wall. it works the same, i've done it before while waiting for a chao to evolve.

Whenever I try it without the egg, they stop trying to climb after around 10 minutes

Anyway, I need to find a way to do this trick with a chao that can swim...
