  • You have me extremely interested in Budda amps, but damn they are pricey!

  • Did you make any modifications to your pickups? BTW, your rig sound fantastic.

  • @zonie9872 No mods. Everything is stock, and thank you.

  • What is the name of the tune you said is one of your son's favorites? Nice progression.

  • @thozzman Firehouse, by KISS.

  • how much is repairing the bodys of carvins? mine was chewed about an inch into the little spot that comes out of the body and is next to the neck its the bottom one opposite the strap holder

  • What do you think about their M22 pick ups?

  • @zonie9872 - I've never personally played a guitar with them. So I really don't have an opinion of them.

  • @zonie9872

Much smoother sounding then the C22s. The C22s are a bit harsh. Also, generally more pleasing to listen to for some reason.

  • Cool riff at 1:24. Great looking guitar.

  • love your guitar. nice carvin. Im going to order one without finish on it, black hardware and pickups with floyd rose. I cant wait

  • I've started to get into carvin a few months ago so I don't know much

  • nice carvin just loves the 22 freters

  • @thebeerfest2008 Carvin started selling 24 fret versions of the double cutaway earlier this year, but I don't think they do it in the single cutaway (yet.)

  • ok how many frets?

  • @thebeerffest2008 22 frets, Ebony frretboard, abalone inlays, satin finish on the back of the neck, 12" fretboard radius.

  • How big is the neck?

  • @thebeerfest2008 - IMO, not overly large. But nowhere as thin as say an Ibanez Wizard II neck. But not quite as thick as modern Fender C neck either. Honestly, it really reminds me a lot of the neck on my Taylor 314ce acoustic.

  • these guitars kick the shit out of gibson, that being said carvins are the only guitars i would spend over a grand for.

  • pretty guitar dude

  • love your carvin...makes the gibson company look like a bunch of greedy bastards

  • Omg i almost jizzed my pants @ 0.35. Thats a really crunchy and milky tone. gives me the shiversss

  • you sucks in the improvisation D:

  • @riackm Thank you for the constructive criticism! You "sucks" at grammar.

  • @bytor1975 bytor greta response to riackm lol

    nice guitar and playing BTW

  • The amp is so clear and articulate in its distortion.. good quality tone.

But this guy is afraid the crank the gain past 11 oclock :)

  • Now THAT'S what I'm talking about, Firehouse by KISS!!!

  • what is the neck shape and thickness like on this model?

    thanx

  • Nice guitar man. Curious about a few aspects of it as I'm currently CS6 shopping right now. Mine is gonna be aesthetically like the Manhattan Blue Gibson LP from a few years back. I was wondering if your inlays were abalone or MoP, and also about the stop-tail verse string through thing. They say string throughs sustain better but it seems a bit iffy to me. What are your thoughts on that since you have a stop-tail version?

    Thanks!

  • @HabitZero - Those are abalone. I've had guitars with both stop tails and string throughs, honestly, if the guitar is well made to my ears there isn't much difference. I've got an Eric Johnson Strat that will vibrate throughout the body up to the headstock as much if not more than than the Carvin or any Les Paul, or any Paul knock off I've had.

  • I sure don't have any issues with the Carvin sustaining as long as I need it too. Personally, I don't think the LP style guitars look right with a string through body.

  • Great tone...great playing. Did I mention...I love that Carvin. Of course...if I was playing it...it would probably sound like s**t. I'm having fun watching these!! I wouldn't be surprised if a Chupacabra bit me on the arse.

  • You did a good job. It sounds real good. I have a Carvin Bolt with 3 AP11 pickups. That sounds great also.

  • Aside from the estetics, what's the difference between this and the CT6?

  • Pretty much the only differences are the cutaway, and on mine I have the Stop Tail (the S in the model name), and the Les Paul style 4 knob layout. I don't think you can do the 4 knob with the CT series, but I could be wrong. But pretty much materials and construction are going to be similar - other than the uniqueness of the woods used of course.

  • Thanks. Bough the CT6 recently, and it's by far the best guitar I own. Great balence of sustain, tone and playability

  • @superstringbender You mean other than the fact they are completely different body styles? lol. With Carvin, you can't really 'compare' guitars. Because everyone gets them with different woods, finishes, pickups, necks, etc.

  • Carvin is the way to go. Always.

  • woa! solid and sweet sound

  • i love it <3

  • Sounds sweet, I like the guitar alot. Way to play some deep cut Kiss too! You never hear Firehouse...

  • Love the crunch tone with that Budda!

    Guitar is slick too.

  • Sweet...great tone!

  • Oopps..accidentally rated it 1 star when aiming to pause the video...

Youtube really need to fix that.

    Sorry :(

  • Sunsetburst CS4M came in Friday! I am sooooo stoked!

  • Cool guitar. How's The SnowDog?

  • Great playing, nice Carvin. By the way your voice sounds like Tom Arnold.

  • i am so stoked!

  • You are gonna love it! Congrats!

  • Just ordered a CS4M Sunset burst! Can't wait!

  • damn bro nice shredding

  • That's my next guitar, but in a different color and with a floyd.

  • how much do carvins usually run for?

  • $1500 to $2000 roughly. It all depends on what options you choose. Mine cost me $1700.

  • oh... =/ thats out of my range

  • yea you could get carvins for under 1000

  • Check out their website. You can get guitars alot cheaper than that. He has the top of the line model to begin with.

I own two Carvin guitars. You wont be disappointed with them

  • Nice guitar. How does it play compared to aan Gibby lp? I know you are more of a blues player, but Could you make a video of some more high gain tests with it? Im curious of how hot the pickups are and how versatiole the guitar will be.

  • Mine was $950 shipped, custom made. Amazing American made guitar, flawless build quality. Took 6 weeks for them to build and ship it. Comes with a tour quality hardshell case too.

  • i just made a Carvin CT6 for 799.

you can get a bolt, which is like

    a strat for about 700

  • im completely sold on carvins at this point, single coil, double coil, set neck, bolt neck, all of them. Im not goin to get rid of my gibson or my fender but but i definately want to match each up to its carvin vertsion. very nice.

  • I just don't care for Carvin pups. Love the necks.

I'm dropping some Dimarzio's in mine.

    They just seem weak.

  • Yea, I did the same thing. Absolutely incredible guitars and even better with Dimarzio's or even Duncans dropped in.

  • Sounds killer! Blue, Green, and Tiger eye were the colors I had to decide from. The next I get will be a quilt with either that new green they offer now, or the tiger.

When you get some photos of it, please PM me or get me a link to see them.

  • Comment removed

  • BTW, how smooth are those SS frets? Killer eh? I assume you got SS? This thing sounds better than a Les Paul IMO.

  • Oh yes, got the SS frets. I like them alot. From now on out, when I have the option I'll be choosing SS.

Hope you enjoy your CS6. What finish did you choose?

  • Here are the stats, will be here Monday!!

    QDG6 - Deep Green Quilt

    BST - Blackburst Edges

BGB - Black Gloss Back & Sides

    AB - Abalone Block Inlays

    STF - Stainless Med-Jumbo Frets .048" H .103" W

S22B - S22B Bridge Pickup w/ Metal Cover to Match Hardware

S22J - S22J Neck Pickup w/ Metal Cover to Match Hardware

    I CAN NOT wait.

  • I just ordered a CS6 which is just stunning and will be here tomorrow. Those s22 pups are killer and some of the best IMO. I am rocking with a X212B combo which is STELLAR!!

    ROCK on fellow Carvinite!

  • Awesome!!

  • I have to disagree. I can't see spending that kind of money and covering up a beautiful woodgrain with paint. :-)

  • Get the Firehuose!!

  • do u think guitar is good for metal somebody help me beacuse there no vids on this guitar with that playing style.....

  • Thanks for making these vids. I'm planning on getting either a cs4 or a ct4 and was curious what one of the california singles sounded like (theres like no vids of them!)

  • I have the double & single cut and they both hum when I split the pickups... I hate that about Carvin.

  • That's in the nature of a single coil pickup. But I don't find all that much hum in the Carven when in single mode. I get alot more from my Strats in the 1-3-5 positions.

  • Get the firehouse !!!! Whoo hooo

  • carvin beats gibson for the price.

  • hey man nice playing but how does this guitars tone compare to a new les paul?

  • I've compared it with a 2002 LP Standard with Burstbuckers and IMO the string/note clarity is more defined in the Carvin. I haven't A/B it with '57 Classic pickups, so I can't comment on those.

  • I cant believe people could say carvins pickups suck. That sounds great. Thanks for solidifying my decision to get a CS. 3rd carvin guitar here I come! A few questions. Would you recommend going with the 2 tone and 2 volume knobs? If you go with just one volume and tone can you still get the split hum-buckers option? Lastly, What finish is that? Thanks for the vid!

  • As far as the knobs are concerned, I just wanted to go with what I was more familiar with. It was as simple as that really. I also like being able to split one pup and not the other, and being able to use the middle position on the selector switch to give you two more possible tonal options. I don't believe if you go with the two knob layout you could do that, but the both buckers will still split.

As far as the finish, this guitar is Deep Blue Triple Stain on a Flame Maple Top.

  • yeah, nice guitar. Love the amp. Great tone. I got one too. Check my vids.

  • I think the guitar AND amp are nicely matched . If forced to choose I would say that the GUITAR is driving the amp a bit . I may be partially biased , I was a painter for Carvin and I've been playing guitar for 35+ years . I've owned 50 + gtrs , but overall I think his sound and pairing for the style he's presenting is fantastic !

  • nice guitar nicer amp!
