  • so how do you put it in Natural again when you want to stop ?? Please replay ...

  • FINALLY!!! thank you ebay.. i mean ehow..

  • do you hold the gear down once you've changed gear?

  • jean claude van dam teaching us how to shift!

  • camera man = absolute faggit, shit and anoying, show us what hes doing we dont want to see his fuking chinese ass!! sorry forgot my pills :L

  • never driven a motorcycle but is changing gears like an atv exept u also need to use the cluch?

  • i put too much RPM and crashed :[

  • u suck

  • how do you take a poop while your riding the bike?

  • how do you put gas in the tank?

  • Press 0 for a leg scratch!

  • taking too long to shift gears will cause wear and clunky changes. if you apply light pressure to the gear lever beforehand, as you pull the clutch in you increase the pressure on the lever (not even always necessary) the gear will immediately switch and you should have a seamless shift

  • Dude what model bike is that? Its sweet!

  • @027Erik its a suzuki sv650

  • You should work on getting that HIDEOUS license plate thing offf your bike.

  • That's not a sportbike ;)

  • @StarbreezeDigital LOOL i was going to say the same

  • bro? you look like gary valenciano a pilipino artist here in the phillippines" heheheeh " your video is good it helps a lot" for the beginners" gdblss"

  • if your revving hard, can you change gear without holding down the clutch?

  • @ferrarithedude never gear down without the clutch it will mess up your gearbox

  • if i brake when down shifting will that lower my RPMs faster?

  • @killyoubitch27 yes if the speed of the bike is holding your RPMs up. When you're not holding the clutch, it will hold your RPMs higher. If you slow the wheel, it will allow the RPMs to drop. If that's confusing, think of downshifting, then pulling the clutch in and out. When you pull the lever, your RPMs drop to 0 because the engine and transmission are no longer connected. As soon as they connect again with the clutch out, your RPMs go back up to the transmission's speed.

  • @Dexi Thank man for the reply. i am going to buy one this summer i have saved for 1 1/2 years to buy one.

  • wats half a click?? just a cli?

  • yay sv650f...i think they stopped making these now...stupid suzuki...now m gonna have to go for a ninja 650 when i buy one in a year or so..ninja looks awesome but suzukis perform better from what i hear

  • @herambbarve Honda is the way to go :P

  • Clear as mud!

  • didnt know an SV was a sports bike.. dam, gonna sell my R1 now and pop the clutch slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • @Toewipe SVs look pretty cute with full fairing

  • Haha what the heck there is no reverse on a bike, you put it in neutral and physically walk your bick backwards >.<

  • There is no reverse. Ever try riding a bike in reverse? Yea. does not make much sense doesn't it?

  • @FordTruck72100

The bike well let you know if you're letting out the clutch too quickly as the shifting will appear to be "jerky." However, there's typically more feathering of the clutch when getting the bike going compared to shifting while in motion. When at speed, the entire pull in clutch, roll off throttle, shift, release clutch, add throttle, etc. sequence happens quite quickly.

  • Your feet are the "reverse gear".

  • how about a zoom in??

  • I can't believe people are asking how to reverse. Good Lord...

  • so to shift the peg isnt like a six individual clicks its really like down or up yes?

  • I'm a beginner as well and today I was riding with first gear then I kicked up to 2nd gear...but I forgot to squeeze the clutch and the motorcycle stopped completely. Is that harmful to the bike? If this sceneario were to accur while driving on freeway (God forbid) on 5th gear would the motorcycle stop like that?

  • @uzi2004 Yes ... coz it can damage the cogs and wheels inside the gear box .. can be costly to repair ...

  • Not true. When you are moving, you can still shift into neutral if you do a half shift. I do it all the time. I shift from 1st to neutral way before coming to a stop. If u want to go into 2nd, you have to do a full shift. Sometimes I accidentally shift into neutral when I'm trying to shift to 2nd just because I didn't do a full shift.

  • Yea when you are moving it skips neutral but when you not moving it shifts to neutral

  • So to shift from 1st to 2nd you only click up once? even though neutral is in between. I'm a beginner lol

  • Hey mate my dad told me i dont need clutch when I shift on my dirtbike is this true I havnt riden yet

Oh and btw befor you start hating my dad he dosnt ride motorbikes

  • Great filming on the highway keep up the good work

  • How do you put it in reverse :D

  • fucking retard

  • What a bike?

  • @vaporX60man just some advice. if you get a ninja 250 youll be bored with it after a week of learning how to ride. get something bigger and dont let your testosterone drive

  • I'm looking to get a sports bike. i have money. i need to learn how to ride a bike first, but would this be a good starting bike, and a good bike to have for awhile in my case?

  • @vaporX60man personally I don't have a bike myself, but Ive heard from multiple people that a kawasaki ninja 250r is best to start out with, not as much speed as say a 600cc+ bike but then again more agility on it and you're less likely to get yourself killed, how ever they get up to like 90mph I stock. I'm trying to save up for a 250r I think they're like 4-5k new. Oh and look into frame sliders in case you do wreck the bike it minimizes the damage done to the sides of the bike I believe.

  • Good explanation, better than others i've seen on the 'tube.

  • How do you put the motorcycle in reverse?

  • @xlioilx ok. umm.. retard?

  • @manoouu You do know the stupidest question is not asking a question at all. Apparently you're not smart enough to understand satire.

  • @xlioilx There is no reverse on a motorcycle as it is uneccessary to have it. Try going backwards on a moty at about 15-20 mph and tell me if u keep control of it. Motorcycles are not cars. Different ballparks here buddy. Put the bike in neutral (N) and back it up with your feet.

  • @PlatinumRomance I know man I was just joking around =)

Although I'm learning how to put a semi truck in reverse now as I get my CDL! =D

  • @xlioilx Me too, they do have reverse :D

  • @xlioilx

Put it in gear, push it backwards with the clutch on, release the clutch at speed. Boom. Also intense heat and wear because the oil pump will also run backwards.

  • @zanuha LOL thanks man.. ah sarcasm. =)

  • @xlioilx is that a joke question?? there is no reverse.. in neutral you can move the bike freely forward and backward no throttle but with your legs

  • @xlioilx you kick it into neutral and kick back

  • lolol i found the same suzuki motorbike just on green colour, it was thrown away with the keys close to the motorbike at the woods, but i don't know how to drive one of those :o

  • @DevilTweet loool was there a body laying around there somewhere too? :p

  • @Baller4lifeeeee Nope didn't look around just took pictures of it whilest sitting on it :)

  • so when you gear up your feet goes backwards and gear down your feet goes down

  • I'm buying my first bike in a little bit, can anyone tell me when to down shift? and could you explain like what gear and stuff?

  • @MrRamenCup hi mate type in to youtube how to ride a motorbike and click the one with mordef 13 hes great at explaining it

  • It's an Sv it's not a sport bike lol mAybe with a remap and fully faired but like that urrrr no...

  • nice motorcycle boots, look like they give great ankle protection

  • wheres reverse??

  • @excalebuir your legs....?

  • @excalebuir i may be wrong but this is how it is on my ATV on my farm, next to the clutch theres a little red button, and you pull the clutch, press that button, then shift down below first, then you slowly release clutch and your now driving in reverse

  • @excalebuir your feet lol

  • Comment removed

  • @excalebuir Motorcycles do not have reverse.... SMH

  • @excalebuir LOOOL

  • @excalebuir lol...that would be scary a motorcycle powering backwards...for the record though i think i saw a trike with a reverse gear though

  • @excalebuir not all bikes have reverse

  • @excalebuir there is no reverse on a motorcycle in the first place.

  • @excalebuir You reverse by a) putting it into neutral or b) or holding the clutch :)

  • he is so cute

  • 0:46 thong

  • No matter what bad comments are posted here - dont mind them dude. I'm gonna be 46 years old, and I'm gonna get my 1st bike pretty soon, and I just wanted to say that I found all your instructional videos verrry informative and inspiring meaning I cant wait til I get mine and start riding! Great service to the people like us "beginners" dude - keep up the good work.

  • "this is the clutch "

I'm only 15, and iven I know that's the Clutch LEVER not the clutch, the clutch is somewahre in the engine :)

Also this video is stupid, i already knew how to drive a motorcycle with clutch since i was 14

  • @ErmaTheKitteh Are you stupid or something? Just cause you knew how to drive a motorcycle doesn't mean everyone else knows how to. Damn, the world doesn't revolve around you, sorry to break it to ya.

  • @ErmaTheKitteh You cant spell worth the shit

  • @Jeanesbabe

    Your statement is invalid :D

Why don't cha' shut the fuck up? :3

  • @ErmaTheKitteh

Typical 15 year old arguement. You're a fucking dumbass.

  • @Symbton

    You mad? (:

  • @ErmaTheKitteh

Do you know what powermad is?

  • @Symbton

    No.

  • @ErmaTheKitteh

    End of discussion.

  • @ErmaTheKitteh good for you buddy. You are the man!

  • @ricekrisp25 I don't think a man would name himself "ErmaTheKitteh" ;) @ErmaTheKitteh You also can't spell for shit. It's Kitty, not Kitteh.

  • Fuck mormons

  • your camera person was horrible the purpose of your video was defeated for the foot action was not seen.

  • that a suzuki sv650?

  • the only problem with this is you don't shift until you hit about 10 grand on the tach

  • You ride like a chick dude

  • Amazing video thanks.. when i watching shifting i jsut imagine shifiting on car

  • @TicTacToe54 The front brake is controlled by your right hand the rear brake is controlled by your right foot with a pedal

  • @TicTacToe54 Right hand and right foot.

  • @ tictactoe54- the front brake is on the throttle side- or right hand, back break by your right foot

  • show yor feet ASS H...

  • thx

  • Good job!!

  • bad explanation. Aweful!

  • sport bike ? a dumb suckin sv650 ? xD

  • @kofirice41 dude what did you use to take a test a scooter i dont understand how you pass....

  • @kofirice41 dude what did you use to take a test a scooter, i dont understand how you pass most states wants to shift throw the gears...

  • Not sure if it's safe to ride in trainers, but hey, maybe he'll be lucky and not get the laces caught on the gear level.

  • lol.. what's diffirent about shifting between a chopper, dirtbike or racer? it's all the same..

  • @vivasnicky No, a superbike shifts the other way up :p

  • @NITROLLATOR That's only if it's MotoGP configuration. Not always.

  • @wajalama My friends stock R1 does.

  • Comment removed

  • @vivasnicky not all bikes has a same shifting pattern.

  • @vivasnicky not on the ironhorse and deluxe ive ridden.

  • @vivasnicky some are 5/6 down, 5/6 up or 1 down, 5 up.

  • looks a lil bit like Mr schuster from Glee

  • ugly bike

  • boring...

  • thats one way, but also can be shifted with out lever "quick shifting"

  • When i leave the clutch, motor bike switches off even if i pull the accelerate

  • @coolsuh do it as slow as possible, giving a small bit of throttle at the same time. the bike should move forward. when you are comfortable with that, you can give more throttle and release a bit faster.

  • I'm 17 and just got my licence. I wanna get a motorcycle but i'm not sure if i should. My mom says i shouldn't. Well, actually she forbids that i do. But i love bikes so much. I'm also kind of scared because i have a friend in my church who was in an accident, and he will never walk again. He's in an electric wheelchair 24/7. I also know several other people who have died or have been hurt in accidents. Anyone have any advice for me?

  • @crazypersonlol34 respect the bike and it's power, i wouldn't get anything too powerfull since your starting out. as your experience grows, i'd would take the advance riding course. so you can learn to be a defensive rider and avoid accidents, remember respect is key, or inevitable may happen. good luck, have fun and be safe!! :)

  • @crazypersonlol34 DO NOT get a motorcycle if YOU are scared! Cautious maybe but scared, cycling takes patience, aggressiveness, all in balance 4 safety.

started with 150cc scooter of all things and moved my way up to powerful bikes. The scooter taught me a lot and some may think its ridiculous but you learn what to look for on residential streets, open roads, etc. It's constant thinking and planning. a car is 1000xs easier, less thinking.

  • @crazypersonlol34 I live in a traffic nightmare southern california. Incredibly inconsiderate drivers, if you only knew how many times ive almost gotten hit. You can be as safe and as experienced as you want but it wont guarantee the other driver will notice. Had two minor accidents by retard drivers and fell twice in the rain to. GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE TO MINIMIZE damage; slow down through intersections, slow down if you cant see 50ft ahead of u, stay out of blind spots. etc.

  • @tra90813 alright bro thanks!

  • @tra90813 mamma mia....you havent been to a italy my friend.....

  • Can you upshift Gears without Pulling the shifter? I heard you can.

  • your a goose

  • This guy doesn't have a clue. Prob never ridden a bike!

  • wtf. 6-7krpm to shift next gear on SV? what, are you dragracing someone? in normal calm conditions 3-5krpm is enough for v-twins... nuff for me..

  • I like how... the sound is great, the video is for eHow, the bike is great, but... the filming is horrible and the decor also.

  • how do you gear down?

  • Except you are doing it all wrong. You don't pull in the clutch to shift on a modern motorcycle. You are going to ruin your transmission if you don't know the proper clutchless rev matching technique.

  • @chunhaylee Er..... Just think about physics, gears, and that kind of think. No take a deep breeze. And try to say again that "you don't need to hold the clutch while changing gears".

I did that back in the time ( on a $1000 bike) but it ruins your transmission and after paying thousands to replace it, you think about it again...

  • @chunhaylee What kind of bike are you riding? I can change up without using the clutch but very seldom do. I don't want my gearbox ruined.

  • he's just trying to show off.. so he wouldn't got bullied... and because of that he was hoping everybody surround him said he's cool.. haha.. with a good bike...

  • No driving schools in the US?

  • oei wear a helmet.

  • what an idiot, first you have to start shifting with your feet then clutch, and when you pull the clutch shift comes up, or you can allways do it without clutch and this is how you do it on a sports bike you idiot. First learn then teach!

  • why don't yall just take lessons to ride instead of killing yourselfs..?

  • I heard u dont have to clutch on ur way up, is this true?? :S

  • @liamcampbellhaha Yeah you may not use the clutch while up shifting. Although you should use it while reducing the gear.

  • wow, amazing :D :D :D what if I do not use the clutch while upshifting??? :D

  • what about downshifting?

  • OK why are you so cute? Thanks for the videos

  • pederu americki

  • rear brike is on the right, to change gear is on the left

  • i always thought that the clutch lever on the bike was the rear brake? someone help me out here haha, if thats the clutch, wheres the rear brake?

  • @RockSmith92 right leg :)

  • @Drayger90 cheers man

  • @RockSmith92 the rear brake is a pedal by your right foot. I looks just like the gear selecting pedal, just on the right side of the bike. The front brake is the handle by your right hand that looks like the clutch.

  • what do u do with the throttle when u shirt let go or give it more

  • @shout12345678 Ahhh okay :D

  • @shout12345678 My mechanic warned me about shifting without using the clutch. Maybe he's wrong?

  • rofl

  • Thanxx my mates got a Honda monkey and it's Impossible to change gear on Thanxx for the help

  • dude u remind me of Tyler Lockwood from Vampire Diaries....

  • wow...I thought that the clutch was the break :D

  • @Bogdyindahous I wish it was to be honest. Jus because i guess im right footed better reflex but when i say that i think about the break and when i need to be sharp on it hahaa

  • @MboroMarksman4 I don't get it..

  • @Bogdyindahous Yeaa i kno i made that confusing as hell hahaa. I jus wish i could switch the side of the clutch and brake on one of my bikes to try it out

  • @MboroMarksman4 aha :)
