  • Try to imagine hearing a Django Reinhardt tempo while playing this. I want to always be aware of the pulse behind your playing even and especially when you play alone.

    It is a subject on a performance of it to maintain tempo.

    It has a margin more, and I practice so that it can perform in an exact rhythm.

  • I say...slow down the solo finger work stuff to give it more character, (like around 1:24 to 1:37) to use your thumb on the finger solos, and it may start to sound like you meant it to be slow to make it more memorable. Believe, me, I know exactly where you are technically. So, try varying the speed and it will help hide any technical limitations in maintaining swing in the faster finger runs, and they won't sound so much like moving through scales.
