  • Furthermore, must add: received the Swedish issue of Golf Digest - with swing analysies of Bubba Watson's driver swing. Must say that Bubba's swing is very similar to Sam's, and he is a real long hitter. But to turn those 90 gr. like that, and the arms. That's impressive. But I believe that lifting his heal make it easier. Bubba's swing is impossible to me to even try to copy. Great swing though.

  • ...must add. I am glad if I can be 10% as good as the Masters I mentioned here below, but one must try and try. That's one of the nice things of the game - to be better. To feel all right after those 18 holes, standing in the bar with an icecold beer with friends. Keep swinging!

  • A comment from a real amateur: to lift the heal on the left foot in the backswing, can be useful when you get older. It´s perhaps better for the spine, the hip and the knees. Or?

Sam is the man! Great swing.

  • @petereuropa lifting the left foot off the ground has nothing to do with age or making it easier on ones joints. It has to with timing. Players that have high hands (two plane golfers) at the top of the backswing need to reconnect the right elbow to the right hip on the downswing PRIOR to releasing the golf club. Replanting the raised left foot automatically drops the right elbow down to the right hip, then you release the club.Makes timing simpler.

  • @petereuropa Jack Nicklaus who all his career lifted his foot said "it's impossible to release the club too early on the downswing as long as you move to your left side. You do this by properly re-planting the left foot ". Most long drivers lift the foot. Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson,John Daly,Fred Couples,RORY MCILROY and many long drive champions such as Jamie Sadlowski,Sean Fister,Jason Zuback,Mike Dobbyn etc etc

  • @TheNYgolfer As I try to copy a swing, I can try to copy one of two great golfer' s swing of the past. I can copy Sam's or i can copy Ben Hogan's swing. Both have as we know great golf swings. then I am sure of it, there are more to add during the years. But I feel if I lift the left heal, it is more easy to rotate. But Sam's swing is too difficult for me. I try to copy Ben's and Luke Donald - and also Ernie Els´ golf swing. And there are so many othere fab videos on youtube.
