  • una de mis favoritas.Tenía 20 años en esa epoca y me parece muy way¡¡¡

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!! This song was played on the R&B stations in Detroit!!!

  • so super, so gay,

    pretty sexy chaz,

    5*****

  • jajajaja...gran tema pero parece el festival de la una esta weá..

  • Lyrics were written by Ian Dury. Tina Weymouth's sisters are the backing vocalist. The funk shouldn't be suprizing at all considering Chaz's pervious job was Dury's musical directior in The Blockheads.

  • Chaz always played a mighty fine Hammond organ , you can hear it on this track played through a Leslie rotating speaker.

  • Chaz.. CHAZ!!! You DO realise, you need to throw a few moves. Chas: Oh Fuck! Noooo!!

  • My, my, this is embarassing :-( Don't get me wrong, this is a good song, and Chaz Jankel rules as a songwriter/musician, but these "dance" moves... aaaaargh, I'm afraid my brain's about to explode!

  • NOT ALL COMPOSERS ARE GOOD DANCERS.!!!!

  • Ii think he's great dancer and I'm Mulatto. I adore this song from my past. Thank goodness for Strobe radio.

  • Kitty Grant song ?

  • Chaz Jankel was responsible for much of the funk influence in his band called the Blockheads - His fondness for it is also evident in his solo career

  • His dancing is so awful it is fiecking awesome. And I am white!

  • le falta bailar mejor pero este es tremendo tema.

  • this guy was white wow

  • This was sooooo Fu.... hot

  • this was probably his most popular record[which i think was excellent]but 3000000 synths was a fuckin masterpiece

  • spettacolare, thanks !

  • Great song, but what's with the "Hemorrhoid Man" dance routine, Chaz?

I suspect the record company brandished his contract in a threatening manner and TOLD him he'd be appearing on the show whether he liked it or not and this was his response :) !

  • Not bad for a bowlegged englishmen. :0)

  • one of my fave retro songs

  • Poor baby...He has no Rhythm! But the song is still HOTT TO DEATH!!!!

  • Todavía me encanta esta canción... me lleva a mis 22 o 24 años....

  • I still love this song...inspite off the "off beat demonstration".....lmbo.....

  • This wuz my jammmmm back in the day. Yea, Im that old!

  • OMG...INSPITE OF SOME BODY REALLY NEEDING SOME DANCE LESSONS, LIKE ASAP.....I LIKE THIS...IT'S ONE OF MY OLE' TIME FAVORITES....LOL

  • @kizzykemistrybee lol too true!!rhythmless nation!!

  • @kizzykemistrybee Don;t worry about the dance lessons asap. This was in 83. LOL. To be honest the way he was dancing I thought the sound and the visual were off. Sadly it wasn't.You sho dance funny mista Jankel. But seriously, this is one of my all time favorites tracks. There isn't anything like it really. Last but not least I applaud the background singers.

  • Back then I would kill for a jacket like this !

  • Chaz t'es le meilleur !

  • big chune!!

  • When oh when will the whole album (Questionnaire) & 12" versions be out on CD?

  • I went to boarding school with Chaz a long time ago. While I was listening to Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, he was listening to Sly Stone and George Clinton. Always wondered where the funk came from, and here it is........ Great tune....

  • In the chorus lines always reminded me one of "The Sound of music" songs.

Great tune though - greetings from Greece!

  • For those of you that don't know, Chas Jankel was the bass guitarist in Ian Dury's ban, the Blockheads and also wrote 'Ai No Corrida' for Quincy Jones...

  • @TroyConvers5000 No, he is lead guitarist. Norman Watt-Roy is the bassist, a mighty geezer at that!!

  • @TroyConvers5000 You obviously DON'T know! He was the lead guitarist!

  • @TroyConvers5000 Cool! Thanks for that info!

  • it's 6 o'clock and time for the scene!

  • I think Calvin Harris is the Chaz Jankel of the 2000's, same taste of Funk ! They are both british genius of pop music.

  • he looks like calvin harris

  • --> gbvente : oui but terribly sexy !!!

  • brave man!the brilliant music helped,too...:)

  • I loved this song. It was popular in New York.

  • Pas dans le rythme... incroyable !

  • ft.campbell ky, good times!

  • THankx for the memories!!!! Muah!

  • ballin in that jacket

  • Where did you leave your horse!!!! Love it

  • EXITASO !!!!!! SUPER BAKANO!!!!!! COOL MUSIC

  • its men is sexy =P!!!

  • la vache dans le style gros beauf aviateur laisse tomber

la musique spéciale série TV ca passe cool

  • @levieuxthorax

for sure pal! Chaz and friends always had lots of humour and sense of irony you know ;p

  • Can someone PLEASE post "Yes, I can get over it, if you can get over him!" by Chaz

  • I do love the internet sometimes. I have been searching for this album for years. And this performance always stuck in my mind. It was an awards show where he won Best Dance Album. Chas was so sexy when he danced in that aviator jacket. Not breaking a sweat, but, still hot!!!!!

  • @bokiluis I recently purchased a cd on amazon of his. I cannot believe how good the WHOLE cd is!!!I always loved this song, on the cd there is an instrumental reggae version of this song. The whole cd is such a party cd, it totally stands the test of time.

  • Hi BurgundyPlush,

I was able to find the album on iTunes and recently downloaded it. I haven't listened to the entire album just yet, but, I will listen to the version you recommended. Correction: I found a compilation that had most of the songs from the original album. Now I need to seek out what you are suggesting. Thanks for your input......

  • That is the title of the CD that I got so thanks for the reminder Burgundy Plush.

  • Burgundy Plush....I have been a MASSIVE fan of Chaz's work for over 20 years....the CD you should try to get is called "Chazanova". All his early solo work. It rocks! Also check out his collaboration with Ian Dury called "Lord Upminster" with the rhythm section provided by Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare from Black Uhuru.Awesome!!

  • He's also a MASSIVE fan of cock.

"I wish I looked like Sasha Distel. What a handsome chap!"

    Faggot

  • @BurgundyPlush WHATS THE CD PLEASE? regards

  • The cd is called My Occupation. got it on amazon. It gets a steady play on my ipod! Enjoy it, its great!

  • The instrumental version on My Occupation is call Too wong Fu, Am i Honest with Myself, Call Me and his version of Ai No Corrida.......Great stuff!

  • @bokiluis The cd on amazon is called My Occupation, it's wonderful. Love his song "Am I honest with myself" but truthfully the whole cd grooves!

  • Speaks volumes that this tune is still played on black radio stations in Philly. Chaz, you are one funky Englishman!

I still own the classic 12"!

  • @tommyluvstraci Lisa Stansfield & Amy Winehouse have nothing on this cat...representing England on American urban radio back in the day....

  • Dear oh me, very few people understand Mr Chaz Jankel. I rate him as one of the best living songwriters. One of these days I'll put my music on here, who knows I may yet be discovered. Over & out.

  • Nice FUNKY track!

  • Great find...pity it is a lip sync. I think that is the same aviator jacket he is wearing on the cover of the brilliant "Chazablanca" album!

  • PS: You really have to pay attention to these lyrics, they're are a hoot; "We went & kissed, we walked & strolled.. A very prescious lil' dittle! Said Michael Pork to Sausage Roll, 'It's PINKY in the middle.. "

  • They aren't the lyrics at all. It's: "A very precious hill,

Said knife and fork to sausage roll:

    "It's pinky in the middle"

  • Showoff!..

Lol, thanks for the correction.. :)

  • "Said knife & fork to sausage roll, it's piggy in the middle"

  • FINALLY?!.. Thank you cubicheloco for posting this!

PS: Thanks to Ray Wilson for pointing this vid-find out to me..

    PPS: "OW!.. "

  • legendary tune!

  • Chaz is one of the innovations of UK new-wave/punk being a former member of ian dury and the blockheads.

  • Primera vez que veo a este cuate, suave.

  • very good perfomance, congratulations

  • Great performance & I DO love Chas Jankel but turning your back on the audience is a HUGE no-no..
