@richardwha Hi Rich - it was because I was an early YouTuber who was invited into their 'partner program' -- I think those who are made a 'partner' get the time limit removed. Wow, I wish I had a monopod -- I know the camera shake sucks; I still don't believe I held up the camera that long -- it was difficult! Glad you enjoyed the footage.
@rushkagon Jonathan Harris was born Jonathan Charasuschin in New York City of Russian/Jewish immigrants. He learned to speak with the British style accent (he said it was more of a Polish accent) while watching movies because he had a thick New York accent and said "Dese" and "Dose" instead of "These" and "Those". He is a great actor who is missed. I bet the day he came to the Pearly Gates, Jonathan probably said to St. Peter, "NEVER FEAR, SMITH IS HERE".
I never had a chance to meet either actor, but I did meet Mark Goddard aka Don West and Angela Cartwright aka Penny Robinson at a sci-fi con in early 1998; they were meeting fans and promoting the LiS Movie - both were very nice and even signed some autographs!
I met him several times at Chiller Theatre and he was such a fun guy to be around.
Amazing that he survived nearly 40 years after LIS to bring fun to all of his fans. I count myself lucky to have gotten to meet him so many times.
One of the pics he autographed for me had him and Billy Mumy in their flight suits-Billy was smiling and Mr. Harris had his "up to no good" look on his face.
He signed it "To Shawn, you Neanderthal Ninny." My prized treasure, that one, lol
YOU Bubble Headed Booby, lead the way... Johnathan was the greatest , I loved the Episode with Mercedes McCambridge - what a match ,she was as Butch as he was Nelly....Shhhhhhh
Dr Smith was the most interesting and the only multi-dimensional character on the show. Growing up I watched LIS over and over. If it was on the tv, I'd watch it. Smith was my favorite character.
This was a great show!! And Harris's performance was hilarious from day one til the end. A great, undervalued performer, this show is classic camp!!! Never missed an episode.
thanks for posting this my friend-under difficult circumstances and the background noise and those popping heads ,that have no respect to jonathon harris or what he is saying--how is it you have 39 minutes on your vid as only 10 is allowed???--thanks ever so much for this rare treat
Remembering Mr. Harris was also the voice of Lucifier a cylon side kick of baltar's in the original Battlestar. Baltar must have been a close relative of Dr. Smith...heh
I met Mister Jonathan Harris at a convention in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. I enjoyed a glass of wine with him. He was a most gracious and distinguished gentleman.
Hard to separate the man from the character he played . Always loved the way he placed the kids [Penny and Will] in front of him whenever "danger" was present.
Jonathan Harris reminded me of actor Clifton Webb on Zoloft. ;) Really, I think he was way underrated because of being associated with Lost In Space (which I loved, personally), because he was one of the funniest, unique voiced actors and line deliverers in pop TV history, IMHO.
He made appearances on a lot of TV shows. Two that immediately come to mind are Twilight Zone and...believe it or not...Sanford and Son. He was a very versatile actor...and unique. I can't think of another actor he reminds me of.
Wow, interesting. I used to watch sanford and son all the time. another favorite show of mine growing up. I may have to get a hold of some old episodes and see if I can find him. That's neat.
More outer-fringe geek losers in attendance than you could shake a plastic light saber at.

For someone born and raised in the Bronx he has a remarkably eloquent English accent.
I used to think he was English, but he isnt. He's as American as they come just a fantastic master of mimickery and accent.
He invented the "special guest star" credit!
