@cobrastomas Seeing as there isn't a single cryengine 3 title out yet that supports directx11 (crysis 2 doesn't), that's a bit of an odd statement to make. They're both very impressive engines, that's for sure. This is from 2008 btw, so hardly a fair comparison. The new "samaritan" Unreal demo is a more up to date display, and that definitely more than gives cryengine 3 a run for its money.

The only thing in MY opinion the consoles is better at is playing in a group. My god you are stupid.. PC's evolves(new technologies, better CPU's, graphic cards) almost every month. Consoles gets renewed every(kind of) 5 years. Ever wondered why crysis(the original) didn't make it all the way to consoles? Because they were too weak to handle Crysis! But now they are making a dumbed down Crysis 2 because of youre damn consoles! And thats just because of those pirates!! But they better optimize and put some extra work on the PC version to compensate for that!
That the computer is better than consoles. You dont HAVE to buy all the new parts coming out just because they are new. I've had my 8800gt 3years from when I bought it, and its perfectly fine. Along with my i5 CPU bought half a year ago. It can run almost all games on the highest setting. Consoles are inferior to the pc. Cheaper - Worse. Thats just how things are(mostly), but if you have some money use use you better off with a good pc.

You can still play games developed in your pc's timespan. Consoles get released once every five years or so, And with a six year old pc I still can run unreal tournament 3 on good quality fine.

It's endless. Plus pc is the home of racing simulations. Its funny when people say they think gran turismo or forza are realistic :)

Because of all the major game developers releasing games for the consoles the engine used to make those games could be extremely good but the consoles hold them back also reducing quality for the PC, the good thing to come out of a console is less lag because of optimization and low graphics and physics quality.

My god you are stupid.. PC's evolves(new technologies, better CPU's, graphic cards) almost every month. Consoles gets renewed every(kind of) 5 years. Ever wondered why crysis(the original) didn't make it all the way to consoles? Because they were too weak to handle Crysis! But now they are making a dumbed down Crysis 2 because of youre damn consoles! And thats just because of those pirates!! But they better optimize and put some extra work on the PC version to compensate for that!

That the computer is better than consoles. You dont HAVE to buy all the new parts coming out just because they are new. I've had my 8800gt 3years from when I bought it, and its perfectly fine. Along with my i5 CPU bought half a year ago. It can run almost all games on the highest setting. Consoles are inferior to the pc. Cheaper - Worse. Thats just how things are(mostly), but if you have some money use use you better off with a good pc.

Lol, I love the argument for consoles being cheaper than PC's this is entirely false, if you know how build a computer and where to buy the parts from, you can build a computer with similar or superior specs to a console of the same price. The problem is that most pre-assembled gaming computers are overpriced, sometimes almost double what they would be if you built it yourself.

THERE IS NO BETTER ONE! THERES SOMETHING CALLED PREFERENCE!! I hate hearing: "PC's are better because they can do so much more with graphics and that FPS were built for mouse and keyboard". I wont argue the graphics, because its true. But graphics arent everything in a game! There something called immersion. Heard of it? I hate pc games cuz the clunky mouse and keyboard takes away from that factor. Every game on a PC just feels like a point and click adventure with way too many hotkeys to me.

@aankl3 first person shooter games, real time strategy games and some over the top 3rd person games (like Diablo 2 etc..) play better on the PC when it comes to CONTROLS and graphics. The controllers for consoles are only good for certain games, but not for the game types that I mentioned earlier.

consoles are ok....but PC's are on a whole other level, especially for graphics capabilities, other hardware, networking...and aesthetics for first person shooters, (keyboard and mouse is still better for first person shooters, hence it was first specifically designed for the keyboard and mouse) Consoles have their games and are evolving...PC's are just ahead thats all.

I agree with your comment. I would also add that if more people upgraded their computers more often i.e every year or so, then if the theory of economies of scale are correct, then the cost of upgrading would drop, but then again, the corporations...want one thing....and you all know what that is.

@m1ke905 yep.. don't forget that you can do a hell of a lot more on a pc. you can mod any game on pc providing there is a community supporting it,and customize it to your liking. for example gta4 on pc even has a first person shooter mod that works really well, not to mention hundreds of car mods. you can run ps3 and wii controllers after installing some software. It's endless. Plus pc is the home of racing simulations. Its funny when people say they think gran turismo or forza are realistic :)

Yes you are correct that more people play consoles because it is relatively cheaper (I would argue that console players invest a considerable amount of money over a long period of time towards the amount of games they buy compared to PC players). It's got problems, but most of them have been handled. Most (like 99%) of the consoles made in the last year or two don't have the problems the original 360 had.
PS3 made a great push, but they lost. Microsoft had better marketing and more active participation with its consumer base, so it won. XBox 360 is better now. Get the fuck over it.
