All that exists is contingent to something else. The origin of the matter in the universe needs to be explained by the matter creating abilities of a non-contingent power. This non contingent power needs to exist by it's own necessity. Energy is proven to be non-contingent. Therefore a form of energy must had created the universe. Energy has the same attributes we give God, therefore is plausible that God had created the universe.
It's quite common for people to try to explain things they don't understand in terms of things they do understand. And sometimes this works, though often we push it too far. We understand certain things about human beings - human beings as makers of things, as beings with emotions and drives and purposes, as beings organized into hierarchical social groups with leaders -- and so we tend to try to explain aspects of the universe -- or the universe itself, in terms of those human qualities.

If the Democrats had their way and Christianity was made illegal (punishable by death) then immediately we'd start to see nearly everyone sodomizing children in the streets.
your statement makes two claims, that Democrats want Christianity to be illegal, and that lack of Christianity leads to the public sexual abuse of children.
As their are plenty of Democrats who are Christians, you're first statement is false.
As for your second statement, I have yet to see any data that backs up your claim.
Dude, go be a fucking retard somewhere else. You're offensive and ignorant, you have no place being here.
First democrats can be christian so your bigoted assumtion is false.
Second, the data reveals that states with high religious percentages have a massively higher number of child abuse and crime in general (related to poverty I'm sure)
Can studying science be considered as worshipping it?
I think not, that's just studying it.
I think that it becomes worshipping when you see it as a way to "the better". (Zorrie, I find it difficult to word.) Studying is a means of... seeing science as being important, needed, valuable etc. Studying is like explessing, furthering it and making it more complete (though I wonder if there will be an end, if we will ever find that).
Not necessarily. People worship God for multiple reasons, fear, awe, respect, but people look to science to advance for other reasons: curiosity, power-hungry, etc. Just look at Albert Einstein.
I like the show but these guys need some better musical intros, no more of that wussy-sounding stuff.. how about some Bad Religion? That'd be perfect..
I'd like that. Actually Slayer with "God Hates Us All" would be perfect for me or anything with Behemoth, but I think they are trying not to come out with an offensive image about them and people are still somewhat "afraid" of heavy metal (Poor choice of words, but I've had a few beers, so bear with me) and that would probably cause some group(s) of people to not take them seriously. I usually just mute the intro and headbang to some Immortal instead :P
Christians explain* that it's a mistranslation. The first verses in hebrew just said smth like "god didn't wish to drive out the chariots", but over the years the translation changed into "he couldn't drive out the chariots".
Even if the 1st is corrent, why God chose to not help his servants in a war is beyond me.
Monotheistic belief covers only about the last 4,000 years of nearly 200,000 years of modern humans. Specifics of beliefs ARE NOT common between cultures.
Was that called for? I was pointing out what is obvious to you and me, but obviously not to kyokumajr. He said a "higher power" is common among cultures. When people say that, they usually mean one "higher power." I was simply pointing out that this would not be the case in polytheistic cultures.
They always look like total dorks at the beginning when the music is playing.

If children are not indoctrinated the chance of them becoming religious adults is almost nothing. Religion is completely unatural in that sense.

Which host?

The other bald guy... Matt... The one that was studying to be a priest, before becoming and atheist...

They have host rotations. Matt isn't on each week.

We worshiped the sun, because it gives life.
We could 'worship' science too, because it has the potential to give better life.

Does studying science cn be considered worshipping it?

People took religion to their advantage too.
People look with awe and respect to science, and some fear it.

God not being able to fight the guys with the Iron chariot is from biblechapter
Judges 1:19
Never reflected over that verse before but now when I read it, it is completely ridiculous.

Christians are just the funniest. I found this little story that is equally retarded in:
2 Kings 6:6
Where Elisha has a swimming axe.

Hm... I've never payed attention to that one. I'll need to look into that later :)
