This review surprised me. I've always liked CMON. They have a great forum, great gallery, great suppor to the community (crystal bruch competition etc.) and a great shop (reasonable prices and fast shipping). Thank you for the honest review.

The music is 80's porno. You were struggling for a description. The music is designed to go with the mini's Jen chose to use for the demonstrations. The part where Jen goes into detail on getting the right shade of pink for the daemonette's labia is fascinating.

I think the review is a fair representation of the DVD set. Still hoping you'll throw up a review for the Miniature Mentor stuff, and also the new Dark Sword DVD featuring both Jen Haley & Anne Foerster. The latter really needs it as its, quite frankly, a bit weird.

Out of curiosity Chris, have you looked at the "7 Day Army Painter" DVD that Cool Mini Or Not also offers? It at least seems on that one that they didn't go the same route as it's apparently done by a guy and has nothing but model pictures on the cover, might be worth a look to see if they learned from it.

real shame about the nudity stuff would you say not appropriate for a 15 year old ? (Me) my parent don't care but I don't really feel like sitting through a large amount of that sort of stuff even though I am pretty serious about painting

really seams unnecisary to have that sort of thing in a tutorial though

just want to expose myself to some more advanced painting techniques and unfortunately I cant find the the other one you recommended anywhere :)

A nice possibility would be have color and light theory sections in a bonus material area, so the viewer can watch the instructions on the theory, then have the mini instruction in the main area apply it.

Thank you for taking the time to do this review Christopher. With Natalya I am curious how much of it may be a language barrier. I do not know if Natalya speaks English or not.

Between the showing of the colour wheel in the promo video and her Miniature Mentor video I had some hope for the Jen Haley video. She was basically being interviewed during the Miniature Mentor video so it's probably a completely different beast.

I may still pick this up as the positives mentioned sound interesting.

Painting DVD. So I agree with you. I also agree with you about CMON's way of advertising. It's pretty strange how many perverted people there are in the mini painting community. I paint females but it's too far when they're in pornographic poses and costumes. Hey also wantto knowif you'll get around to Darksword DVD set and Miniature Mentor. Thanks fir review!

Thanks for the review Chris. Not that I totally agree with you, in fact I've found myself disagreeing with you on this review and Natalya. I've found both videos to be informative, not world shaking, but still very beneficial to my own techniques. However, that is probably because I'm able to watch a painter and just pick it up that way, but that's just my learning style.

For those of you who need the steps explained as you watch them, Chris is right, these videos aren't for you.

Completely agree bout the sex sells what makes me laugh about the picture on the cover of Natalya is she doesn't look anything like that in the DVD!! She's pretty don't get me wrong but they have photoshopped and airbrushed the cover to hell it's not even funny
