  • acdc suck? haha you stupid fool, must be a dumb ass metal head american, you won't get it

  • Teachers should use this.....

  • I don't get why people are bitching. Music is music, people have their likes and dislikes,... but getting your feathers rattled over someones opinion on a band/song they favor IMO is a waste of energy, and time.

  • Dam I like that song vocals were great keep up the good work make us proud

  • Great way to study for my AP US history final

  • hah u put fifthy

  • i love the emotion put into these songs its truly chilling at some points when you consider the battle and situation, valor on both sides love and respect for the other but ferocity and determination still the same because they both fight for their nation

  • only fucking ameritards could like this shitty song (or this abomination of a band, likewise)

  • @LMTR14 You're a fucking faggot.

  • This is perhaps one of the greatest metal songs ever written. Brilliant does not even begin to describe the genius behind this song. I'm grateful to Iced Earth for this auditory orgasm.

  • I want the metal version of The Battle Hymn played at my funeral haha. This song is great on both the history freak and metal head levels. So intense.

  • Lol, Awesomes Its fucking SMART metal. This, this right here, PASSED me my final essay exam in my american history exam........thank-you Iced Earth for the WIN!!!!!

  • Ripper owen's best work is with Iced Earth, i don't know what you guys are saying

  • I was blown away by this and the other two Gettysburg songs in the series. They were the first songs I ever heard by Iced Earth, and I fell in love with the music.

  • 148 years ago! I'm not American, but this song moves me in a very special way! Great work, Iced Earth! Thanks uploader!

  • Amazing album. Barlow is my favorite iced earth vocalist but I can't imagine this album without the rippers voice.

  • i just played this like 8 times in a row this is some kick ass shit!!

  • fantastic epic song...drive through the battlefield playing this song. :D

  • The Gettysburg 1863 song suite is my favorite of all time! I listen to this and it sends chills down my spine, especially the third section High Water Mark. Ripper's voice is absolutely perfect for this song trilogy. It captures the necessary emotion and has such passion. I shudder to think of what this would sound like in Barlow's hands. He's a good singer but has nowhere near this amount of passion.

  • A very excellent epic, this song is! Definitely one of the album's highlights.

I just don't get all these guys who hate on Owens. That's like saying Black Sabbath sucked with Dio and AC/DC sucks with Brian Johnson.

I don't see how anyone can listen to songs like this and Ten Thousand Strong and say it doesn't sound awesome.

  • @xRockandMetalx I used to hate on Ripper a lot. Because it crushed me that Barlow left. But the Gettysburg trilogy helped me get over it.

  • @xRockandMetalx and Iron Maiden sucked with Dickinson (how dared he replace Di'Anno?)

  • @Darkmoor9 I have to disagree with you there, dude. Paul was good too but I think Bruce is the best voice for Iron Maiden. In my opinion, Maiden sucked with Blaze, that guy simply did not belong in Iron Maiden.

  • @xRockandMetalx I was being ironic. You said "That's like saying..." and I added another example. Of course Maiden needs Bruce (though I like Di'Anno and Bayley as well). :)

  • @Darkmoor9 Oh, of course lol. Duh. *slaps forehead* Nevermind, then.

  • @xRockandMetalx

pfft, X-Factor was the best album thanks to Blaze, I really like his dark voice

  • @xRockandMetalx AC/DC sucked no matter who was doing vocals.

  • @foottothenuts That's your opinion, dude. The high praise from the general public and the many bands that cite them as an influence says otherwise.

  • @xRockandMetalx That's because they appeal to the lowest common denominator. It's simple stupid music for simple stupid people, and there's a lot of simple stupid people.

  • @foottothenuts Lol, if you say so.

  • @foottothenuts my thoughts exactly. its one of those self-fulfilling prophecies. ACDC is a complete entry level metal band with hardly any depth or intricacy, i mean fuck, EVERY song of theirs is the same fucking notes in the same fucking key.

they are only popular because they are ACDC & all those fucks think they're suuper heavy & badass, & thus it perpetuates. they aren't.

most of my fellow musicians concur, there are much better old school bands with a much more tangible influence

  • @foottothenuts So, you're saying because they were popular, they sucked? You my friend, are... I can't think of anything to call you.

  • @imossim No. They are popular because they suck, not the other way around.

  • @imossim stupid is fitting :P

  • The Civil War is tricky because on one hand, slavery sucks and we need to stay one country. But, on the other hand, if the south had one we wouldn't be 14$ trillion in debt and up to our necks in Marxist liberals.

  • this song is badass. my previous comment was meant for someone else. i like what iced earth stands for.

  • you're wrong dude. the south won the war. the civil war wasnt even about slavery bro. it was about state's right's. the democraps threw in slavery into the mix to make the oppossition the "bad" group.

  • @thrashtilwedie

you are right to an extent. But slavery was a very issue and cause for and during the war. Just read any number of the historical documents or letters from many politicians and soldiers during the war. Slavery was at the forefront for many.

and how again did the South win the war? I'm not seeing your logic on that at all. The had to accept almost every single demand by the north and had a complete unconditional surrender. Their economy was in shambles, etc...

  • @VodkaAce my comment was meant for something else. i misspoke and misread someone's comment. once i noticed i immediately made a retraction. my bad bro.

  • @VodkaAce It was more the fact that they wanted there own nation which they would live free of the norths views on them...slavery was a major factor in the southern nation as a hole and was one of the major reasons for the war but overall if it was not slaves the war would have been started for another resion...the south and the north both had knifes at each other with every difference they had..southern freedom was the factor for war

  • @thrashtilwedie You are wrong. Dude. The "democraps" as you wanted to put it were the ones wanting to keep slavery. They were the rich white land owners. The Republicans (headed by Lincolon and several other abolitionists) were the ones wanting to end slavery. Lrn2AmericanHistory.

  • @BraumSevil dude, im completely aware of that;hence, my retraction below. you're preaching to the choir. as mentioned in my previous comment, i had misread someone's post. it takes a bigger man to acknowledge he was in the wrong. i can deal with it.

  • Metal classique!

  • i remember i used this song to pass one of my history exams way back in middle school.damn good old times..

  • @s2k31 Nice! XD

  • @s2k31 beware of the historical inaccuracies in it though...

  • Great. Thanks for this upload!!!!

  • Thanks for the upload mate I've wanted to see the lyrics to this for a while :D

  • @berskerben So, buy this cd. ;-)
