For goodness sake Google, stop over-engineering things! I will look at the search results AFTER I've finished typing and pressed Enter, and NOT BEFORE! Why would I want search results based on a phrase I haven't finished entering yet? I'm quickly going off Google, what a shame.
All Google is doing is wasting their bandwidth unless most people are so horrible of typers that they can look at a page that is changing every half second and find what they are looking for easier than finishing what they were typing...
This will work only for those who have got a lightning speed Internet connection. For people like me (I've got 1MBit/s connection) it'll only save me a second or two since I won't have to press 'enter' button.
why so many unneeded requests to their servers !!! am i the only one who thinks this is useless and just for showing off that google has great servers !!
Annoying. I'd actually hate this. I want to enter my stuff and not be disturbed by ever flickering content below. This live updating is just pointless extra bandwith waste and kind of showing off to impress sheeple.
Why have a "Search" button at all then? or even a logo, or even a search box.. why not just have a completely blank white page which transforms as soon as a key is pressed. I'm sure this can be done with a CSS, I don't hate the Google logo but I feel they can advertise themselves in other ways.
what about... if you`re a damn slowpoke to type with your keyboard and you want to search for "pennsylvania", i wonder what could happen when you type the first 3 letters.
@SeikoTheWiz ...because a majority of people who do a search for just "strawberry cheesecake" have been determined to be looking for recipes. So, a search for just "strawberry cheesecake" will show a lot of recipes.
haha! the next version will tell you what you are looking for or what you are allowed to to look for. and the final version will immediately arrest you, if you look for something that is not allowed... LOL :)
And the feature itself is really interesting at all... It's really dumb...In place of loading result after validation, its load result after every completion of the search bar... What a "implementation"...-_-...
Hmm... I don't see the interest of this, the only result of research that interest the user is the one he found after having typing the keyword he's searching for...
Seriously if I search "history of International Space Station", i would totally don't care of the f**king result of "history", "history of", "history of international" etc...
And this would be really annoying the constant reload of result...
And I don't imagine problem with things like a young student typing "ORAL presentation"...
@Jbanto nah, lets face it most people have no idea how to properly use google. and this is probably gonna be a optional thing too if they ever add this feature
Also, imagine how much processing power is lost for about 15 search queries when all you need is one. Unnecessary addition by Google TBH, it could be fake too.
I think this would be cool to have as an option that you could toggle on or off. Sometimes it would be unnecessary, other times it would be super helpful!
this sucks so much..im writing something and that google instant writes something else. Its so annoying!!!!

This is something really easy to implement, though not the best idea to go for.
Even though the metadata is most of the times cached in the servers, a server overload is more than expected, as well a waste of bandwidth.

What happens with Adwords CTR? If this gets implemented ads will get many more impressions than now but click rate will remain the same.
Also this will take much more user bandwith. What happens with countries where speeds are lower.
