From his third album, "Another side of Bob Dylan". I've never met him but he's one of the few people who I can actually say changed my life for the better, with just a guitar, a harmonica for punctuation, and words. I have almost everything he ever did.
Disillusioned words like bullets bark As human gods aim for their mark Made everything from toy guns that spark To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark It's easy to see without looking too far That not much Is really sacred. While preachers preach of evil fates Teachers teach that knowledge waits Can lead to hundred-dollar plates Goodness hides behind its gates But even the president of the United States Sometimes must have To stand naked.
I know this is silly Metabob, but I just have to cheer! "Chimes of freedom" is one of my favourite songs ever, been singing it like 200 times. It´s so simple yet brilliant. And even though it´s monotonous it´s weirdly NOT monotonous if you are a Dylan fan. Oh thank you MB for bringing ppl´s attention to these lyrics..."tolling for the serching ones, on their speechless seeking path..." I love you MB! (If that´s ok - I´m a dude? :), not gay...not that it´s anything wrong with that...)
::smacks Shauna in that beautiful booty of hers:: I miss you and love it when I see your posts. I pray all is well with you and know how much I care. If anything I hope to still see you in NewYork come June. ::smooches:: becca
Thank you for reminding me of the fact I was blessed to have walked through life with such greatness like I did in the 60s. Wonderful Video and what an amazing song and man! Happy Birthday Bob! His autumnrain @-->---
Perhaps it's not the young people that we need to look towards for accpuntablity on this. Maybe we must look at oursleves and see where we as a socitey lost our way in some aspects. I have hope though that the Time that are a Changin might shift back to a more pure and caring place...
Bob Dylan in my mind is the best song writer and poet of all time. I love this song and it;'s amazing to me that at 23 he could have been so intouch and aware of himself and the world around him. Youg people these days don't have a clue. But I wonder.... the times now are not as pure, unexplored and innocnet like they were back then...
I just noticed the birthday, and it made me think of the song, and the aching ones whose wounds cannot be nursed, and the countless confused, accused, misused, strung-out ones and worse, and every hung-up person in the YouTube universe...
Mea culpa, to a tiny extent. At 1:40 in his "more fun with metabitch - part I" video, fakecase said he was glad that he's "young and stupid", he'd gonna hang on to that as long as he could; to which I replied in a comment that he's all that enough to not get the joke of "Please Pick Me". How could I resist?
Through the mad mystic hammering of the wild ripping hail
The sky cracked its poems in naked wonder
Among the greatest lyrics written ever, by anyone

Modern society breeds contempt in so many ways- on so many levels- nature & nurture often conspire negatively together in social terms.

The Bob Dylan song about the "Hurricane".
Here comes the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.

...and also that several commenters have dismissed certain twentysomethings as, essentially, "too young" to be anything but clueless assholes.
