Magnificent! Eddie Mair is one of the absolute treasures of Radio 4 and was quite legitimate in asking Francis Maude such a pertinent question and didn't the minister make a hash of his response? Bravo, Eddie

Francis Maude is a skulking, lying, smug, rich Tory. The only new thing he proves here beyond any reasonable doubt is that he's so smug and incompetent, he can't even lie effectively. This interview tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about why this is one of the most destructive and unpleasant governments my country has ever had the misfortune to end up with. Chilling. @revrossmurphy Ahh, Thanks for clearing that up! I heard about this interview and looked it up here, hoping to find it. Couldn't work out the connection with the Bible! Although perhaps government ministers should be forced to swear on the Bible before they go on the radio!
