  • Monster hunter is harder than demon souls. Sometimes it takes hours just to defeat a monster once. Doesn't sound bad? Well sometimes you need to kill a certain type of monster dozens of times in order to get the material you need to update your weapons and armour. Most monsters in that game can take up to 20-40 minutes to kill unless you're pro!

  • The first time I fought man-eater, I killed it without dying once. The second time he killed me at least 4 times. Why? Because I kept getting stun locked until he pushed me off the edge. How easy he is depends a bit on luck and good rolls. Mess your roll, you're going down, mister.

  • Last 5 seconds are the fucking truth

  • I am going to get this next week hopefully i can beat it and plat it in one playthrough

  • it's hard for console gamers..

  • @Thet3 fuck that.... it's just hard .

i've been raised on Castlevania and Mega-man, beaten DAO on hard and Half Life 2 and i still find this hard

  • It's really challenging, and the bosses are wicked intimidating, but once you figure out what to do and how to handle certain dangers, it gets easier. Waiting to beat this before moving on to Dark Souls, :-)

  • i was gonna get this game, but now fuck that!

  • lol maneater wasnt even that hard imo, just stay around the fire thing in the middle and let them come to you.

  • Soul form grants more attack whereas body grants more defence. Man Eater is pwned by Warden, and losing souls doesn't even matter you can just farm them later. Demon's souls is the greatest game made and it doesn't accept casual gamers.

  • maneater? hes the easiest boss..

  • You have a big difference between playing demon's souls PWWT and PBWT. PWWT is unforgiving...PBWT is DAMN UNFORGIVING XD...:)

  • Maneater is easy :) Flamelurker on the other hand is hard

  • I agree with you on Maneater, hes a punk!!

  • Nice vid! very good advice! I take it you have Dark Souls already?

  • @Wyrmcrush ayep, I even have a video response to this video showing some dark souls footage

  • If you play carefully it isn't hard at all, a lot of the bloodstains I see show people swinging a massive weapon and not defending, play like a 8yr old kid and you will die, play carefully and with some thinking and you'll do OK.

  • Those games are hard like hell, but i love it. If you beat a enemy, its more because your skill than for your character power

  • @lombax94 and risk having your entire hardrive erased,if that doesn't happen,DeS file will be corrupt.

but go ahead, give it a try.

  • Someone complaining about ManEater? That's a first. An "EVEN WORSE" worse than the worst is that there is no START button.

  • @LolVermillion There is a start button. It just doesn't pause immediately (although the game auto-saves so you can pretty much quit the game anywhere to get the same effect as pausing sooo...).

  • @Trynant I like this video.

  • @LolVermillion An "EEEVEN WORSE" "EVEN WORSE" worse even than the worst "even worse is that every time you die, the tendency in that area degrades, and the game gets worser.

  • @CryingShayme only if you die in physical form does the world tendency get darker, so just run around in soul form, then when you beat a boss, suicide in the Nexus back to soul form so you wont affect tendency and not get invaded once you go back out.

  • EVEN WORSE, I AM A VIRGIN

  • my thoughts exactly..it is a pain to have to replay a lvl if you die once you were at the boss fight tho..

also, you forgot to mention the "even worse' part about dying..regular enemies get stronger.. :l

die too much and you can make it a hell for yourself.

  • Fuck the Maneater !!! THE FLAMELURKER IS A BIIIITCH AND A HALF D:

  • Demon's Souls is a picnic, at least if you know the controls. I was surprised how easy the final boss was in my first playthrough .___.

Although, if you haven't played demon's souls and you start playing dark soul's, I believe you'll die a LOT more xD

  • EVEN WORSE!

  • we all feel the pain of Fing maneater there is no boos like it SCREW HIM

  • how far apart are bosses? Im not sure if i can give two hours+ of solid game play before i can save

  • @theraycharles the game autosaves everywhere, so you can take as many breaks as you want while playing (quitting will save your exact spot in the level). Bosses are about 15-60 minutes apart (depending on how fast you are and if you explore). The only problem is dying puts you back at beginning of level, although you keep your items just not your unspent money.

  • @Trynant thanks for the info now i know which one to buy and i will buy darksouls for sure thanks a lot :)

  • @Trynant Kind of cheated on Maneater by using Firestorm. ):

  • @YetHaterLover Firestorm isn't cheating. It's justice.

  • i dont think demons souls is hard

just not what people are used to

most people are use too games like halo or gears of war, game that require no stratage and are realy only 'spray and pray' kind of games

but demons souls require some type of skill and talent to play it

be it dogeing or holding up your shield

that is why people think its hard, not that its hard, but tht its not what they are sue to

i am use to playin games like DMC and old NES games, so this game wasent to much of a challenge

  • @theeater23

I agree. If you go into with a plan and are patient, you should be fine.

  • Maneater was the easiest boss in the game

  • you forgot that when you die in body form you lose world tendency and the monsters get harder

  • you are only bad

  • so you don't lose souls as long as you spend them before your death right?

  • cuz there is no pause function

  • Demon souls is hard, cruel and brutal with death.

But it is FAIR. If you died, you did some stupid shit you KNEW you shouldn't have.

  • @plasmathunderdx

Not really, sometimes it's just stupid as fuck, e.g. those bell-ringers in 3-1, they paralyze you and then pretty much 1hit you and it's easy to happen as well.

  • @CJYOUFCKINBUSTER Yeah but dodging that paralyze is easy.

  • @plasmathunderdx

Not really, a lot of 3-1 is small corridors which you can't roll very well in.

  • Yep. Fuck Maneater.

  • honestly the only hard parts of this game wud be if your new and dont know how to play that good. and laso the 2 bosses maneater and false king allant however there are good starategies for them its still quite difiicult

  • love this vid.... holy shit

  • I think I see where you're coming from here, and I don't disagree so much as I'd just word everything differently. There's alot in this game that's thrown at you without warning, mercy, or prerequisites (case in point, the opening stretch), and having no lack of consequence. The game's difficulty comes from its strategically tolling nature, the process of trying to overcome these things strategically, while still staying safe in face of whatever's directly in front of you.

  • it would be a lot worse if you lost your equpiment as well

  • Man Dark souls is great but man i didnt die until after i beat the 2 gargoyles not even one

  • MANEATER FUUUUUU

  • i have to say tho, Demon's Souls is a lot easier if you play as a Royal, or any type of mage. ranged projectiles means a lot of the time youre out of range of the enemy, and magic does a large amount of damage. being a melee fighter is probably the hardest profession in demon souls.

  • @william979 i considder it a save point really cuz it saves everytime go to one. its alot like in sotn. it saves, replenishes ur health.

  • Lol.. try getting to the false king without having to kill 5 black phantoms on the way there.. FUUUUCKKKK OFFFFF XD

  • @GodlySanctuary Wait until the "Pure Black World Tendency" event is over (through October 31st, if I'm correct). Or play offline, maybe that could help. In white tendency, there are no black phantoms, AFAIK.

  • @marcellobello2 I have beaten the game a couple times now. That part was just a bitch. I was trying to get the trophy for all rings collected, but no matter what I do, I cant get myself 100% pure character tendency. The black phantom NPC's just kill me if I get the chance, and even then, it only goes up by a fraction. Now THAT makes me mad.. stupid goodness ring XD

  • @GodlySanctuary If it's any consolation, I tried to kill the BP "Satsuki" about 50 times by now, and always fail, no matter what my strategy is. I never manage to keep him from healing himselft. Makes the first part of "Shrine of Storm" basically inaccessible for me, because I also cannot backtrack from the next Archstone (there's a gap in a walkway, which is only closed during white tendency).

I guess "Demon Souls player" will soon become a new Thesaurus entry for "Masochist"...

  • if you dup dont if you dont dup FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • i totally agree with you man...death to most of the games means NOTHING except a little extra time to pass the level...demon souls and dark souls are trying to tell you that your death has a price to be payed so play seriously and do anything to survive...thats the spirit

  • 1 death pr. hour? -

I died like over 150 times i believe, and i completed the game in 17 hours.....

  • "Except for Maneater...SCREW THAT BOSS!"

  • the dificult of a game is not about how many times you die. A hard game, or demon souls in that way, you have to spent time to learn to play and you have to play as well as you can or you have to restart the whole game, in demon souls if you fail so many times you will lose your healing items and other usable items and you must restart. Mirrors edge is only about jump, you dont have to learn to play it.

  • @YuneroTheShadowGhost What? You don't loose any items ever when you die in "Demon's Souls", to my knowledge. All you loose is your current souls. And you have to restart your current level. But items, weapons etc. are safely kept even through death.

  • @marcellobello2 yes, but you start with half of your hp, and you have to kill one boss to have it back or buy a special item that cost huge souls!

  • @YuneroTheShadowGhost That is true. But I'm playing in soul form for the most time anyway. Cling ring is my friend, and I don't bother getting alive again. Being dead is nice; helps sneaking up on enemies, too.

  • @marcellobello2 i have to say that i have played for 7 hours yet and i stayed all time in soul form, but anyway it is hardest game i ever played. I also wear that ring. The secret of demon souls is go creep and get souls of low enemys and it requires time and patience to earn that souls, and anyway there are strong enemys that kill you with 1 hit and require huge impacts to kill them.

  • Screw the maneater.

  • dude you suck ass at mirrors edge...i almost never died in that game

  • @TheINUH

A game where you actually have to apply different tactics and strategies. Be attentive to what is happening and understand that just swinging your sword will not save the day. That is indeed what Demon's and Dark Souls are and will be.

  • Ng+ is where it starts getting hard especially if you didn't spam souls. From there on it's harder and harder

  • hahhaa ya ManEater was hard since duplicate himself but everything else was easy with some dodging and a high attack

  • I watched this video to figure out if I should get Dark Souls. So what I've heard was that this game gives you infinite lives making you start at the beginning of every level only giving you one chance to get back your unused EXP and Souls with 1/2 or 3/4 of your health back for each new life. So you keep what you used with souls and EXP including what you leveled and armor/weapons. Am I right so far? What happens in coop Multiplayer when you die? If the combat and multi is good,I'm getting DarS

  • @lukass64 You've got it more or less. Dying in co-op kicks you back to your own world (so does winning a level for that matter). Multiplayer is weird (I think it's amazing), and the combat is like an extension of 3D Zelda's combat. Lock-on, dodge, block, counter, etc.

Dark Souls is going to be more of the same; but harder. I'm not kidding.

  • @lukass64 Agreed, you basically get it. In the games favor it's really no dif. than grinding in any other rpg. The dif. being your perspective, by that I mean you may grind between the same 3-4 rooms for hours. This game is heartless and unforgiving. Yet somehow addicting. I say get it on a sat. play it all day and if you can't take it then bring it back that night or the next day and say it wasn't what you expected and get a dif. game.

  • Alright, the reason the game is perceived as hard is because you're not superpowered. You don't have..Ultima or Knights of the Round or some shit like that, you have a sword, shield, or magic. That's it. Compared to any other RPG today, it's extremely mind numbingly difficult. ANYWAY, as he said, everything counts. No retries, unless you explore that stupid cheap-ass way of exploiting the save feature, and playing stupid gets you killed. Again, and again, and again. Have fun, bitches!

  • EEEEEEEEVEN WORSE xD

  • The game is hard because its realistic. Your not some bad as Demi-god or half-Demon with super strength who eats damages like omelets. No. Your a regular human being from whatever class you choose tossed into a world of Demons Dragon and other evil medieval fantasy monsters that have magical powers and insurmountable strength. You suppose to get you ass kicked, you would in real life lol

  • EVEN WORSE lol

  • screw maneater jajajaja your right ¬¬

  • I love the drawings xD.

  • it seems there focusing more on death than pretty much any other important aspect of the game. ridicoulous.

  • and it seems that every goddamn people on this earth is hating the maneater-fight.

this two fucking guys are not that bad with their attacks and on an plain area they would be no big trouble, if there wheren't to of them... and the fighting area is a fucking bridge where you fall down if you roll to fast.... so well...I hate them too

  • dont just screw maneater....screw flamelurker too. thumbs up if you agree!

  • @BodyCount900 hmmm flamelurker is easy to me but maneater fucks me up every time... this is so bad. I'm now on NG++ an on each playthrough maneater kills me the most... on the other bosses you can just roll away and everything is good... if you roll just a bit false at the maneater fight you fall of the fucking bridge... at flamelurker just roll back wenn he attacks... i think this let's you evade all of his attack-types... you don't get the flamelurker down very fast, cause you have to wait lot

  • @Krustel92 thanks for the rolling tip. thing is i wear brushwood so i cant roll fast lol. but what are some other good light armors besides kings?

  • @BodyCount900 ah well... I'm not that pro in choosing the right armor every time, but bosses kill me in two hits no matter what armor i have, so i just pick a light armor, that looks good on my charakter... so cause i mainly play female charakters, i use the armor of miralda, and this things for your hand giving you more souls from your enemy... and that assassins mask... but i have a that violet dragon shield (dont know if thats the name in english) or the dark silver shield in my left

  • @Krustel92 I don't feel too ashamed for generally trying to kill bosses from afar, using Magic or ranged weapons like a bow. Wanna kill the frikkin fire-spewing red and blue dragons in Boletaria? Somewhere between 100 and 200 arrows do the trick...

  • @BodyCount900 and i do good damage with my nord-insignia sword (again i don't know the real name in english)

and also excuse me for my bad english, cause i'm german

  • @Krustel92 oh your good. don't worry about it dude.

  • @unfitdeath89 I agree on that

  • OMG I HATE MANEATER -_-

  • eeeeven worse it took me 8 hours to beat the first level because i had no idea what was going on eeeeevvveeennn worse when you die all of the items you used are gone eeeeevvveeeennn worse you cannot play online if you and your friend have no soul eeeevveeeennn worse your weapons break eeevvvveeeennn worse this game is addicting and fun so you have to keep playing

  • @LegsWillson no, you don't lose your items when you die. only your souls.

  • Yeah.. I killed maneater with a Very large sword and didnt have problems. Easy boss is easy.

  • actaully when you die, the default of how much life you have while in soul form is half of your life bar, you get 3/4 if you are wearing the cling ring.

  • Actually if you quit the game right when you die, you don't give the game time to save, and you will be a few moments before your death. Is a cheap move, yes, but it'll save you from rage quit some times

  • I found this game to be a strong challenge. it's not too bad at the beginning, and bosses like Phalanx, False Idol and the Tower Knight are pretty simple. However, bosses like King Allant, Flamelurker and Maneater are vastly more difficult due to how fast they can move and the wide area attacks they can launch, making avoiding them very difficult, and sometimes impossible. Dragon God isn't so much a boss as he is atricky death-trap series of hallways that become sinsanely easy.

  • i was thinking the same thing and meaneather :( died 20 times by falling down the ledge

  • I see people beat Mirror's Edge and games like it while having little to no previous video gaming experience. There are few amongst us who can pick up Demon's Souls when never having played a video game before. You die and can lose an hour of careful playing. The chance to get the best items are gone with one foul up. There is no redo. There is no oops. No loading or convenient reset. There is only the Demons waiting to slay you once more in their infinite patience for your soul. Casuals beware.

  • Nobody told that Demon's Souls is far more easy if you equip a shield. For the likes of me who HATES shield this game sometimes is EVEN WORSE. Really. Play the whole game on a +Walkthorugh without shield and you'll curse every supernatural being that comes into your mind. To think the next game will be EVEN WORSE (it's starting to get fun writing this)...The guys who made this game said it's all about "tactical sword play".

  • @Sphodros Not true bro, Shields help, but you dont need them, Shields only make your job.. harder, because you rely on that shield, theres a trick to every enemy, and if you can learn to do the spin around backstab, you can rule the game, I dont use shields unless i'm using the blue blood sword, Ever. Waste of a hand slot, 2 blessed weapons and your health regenerates Pretty damn fast,

  • @xRAGEProductionx

Sorry but I consider the run and backstab one the the cheapest trick of the game. To learn the trick for every enemy it means you're likely to die a whole lot more than normal. It's way easier and faster to face a red eye knight with a silver shield. Fight against a gold armor or a dual katana skelton (and you often meet em when there is no space to dodge) without a shield is a lot harder too. At least I have an easy time against noobs with mirdan hammer :P

  • @Sphodros on npcs you consider things cheap? NPC's dont have feelings, you can do what you want, and run around and backstab isnt cheap at all, it doesnt work on everyone, and red eye knights you dont need a shield, especially not dual katanas, those will fuck you up regardless, just dont get hit.

  • @xRAGEProductionx

Of course I consider it cheap. It's not about MOBS but about playstyle. Run around and backstab has no skill involved. You just exploit their dumbness (and developers couldn't do nothing about it). OF curse the game can be played in many ways so it's kinda pointless arguing over something like this. Who doesn't like Reverse backstab simply won't do it (in fact I don't ). Red eyes and dual katana can be killed without a shield and in close range. It's only (way) more difficult

  • @Sphodros Well maybe i think shields are cheap? This games got a handful of bugs, Polearms massive knockback and range, guillotine axes's damage speed and knockback, i can play the game fine without running around and backstabbing, but it does take skill, i'd like to see you run around a red eye knight and backstab it, Its just something you pick up, no matter how you play the game, But in all honest, Play the game again, with a new character, and see how easy it is.

  • @Sphodros I pretty much stopped using shields towards the end of my first playthrough, and barely used any at all in NG+. I still didn't find NG+ particularly hard, with the exception of a few bosses (maneater among them). It's generally a lot more fun to run around two-handing (with adjudicator shield on back for regeneration) and dodging those attacks that can't be prevented by a quick kill. There are still a few places where it's better to use shields though - 5-1 and 5-2 mainly.

  • there is a 1 way to continue game after dead just like other games !!! just turn off the game after u die and before it saves !!! i mean turn of game before it saves and then turn it on again and u will continue from place where game saved just before u died :P

  • @matildeus95

    ^this :P

i found out by emoragequitin' after dying in a boss

  • after watching this, you know what demons souls reminds me of now? the old niintendo games, example punch out for the NES, when you lose to lets say bald bull, he rubs it in and laughs at you, duck hunt, when you miss a bird, that FUCKING dog laughs at you, where i am getting to is this, when you die in NES games, they rub it in with fan fare, but in new games, they apologize after killing you.

  • I find it fucking enoying sure when you have a high caracter then its easy. But when you just start you really need to farm.

  • EVEN WORSE: everytime u die in body form world nd char tendency decreases making it evn mor difficult

  • The point is: Demon's Souls is NOT made for you.

  • i killed maneater with the dragon bone smasher he was still hard

  • Tbh that's the point of demon souls... Play smart --> Get rewarded. Simple as that, and people call it hard simply because of what they are used to. Ask any veteran gamer and he will find demon souls challenging and rewarding. So your vid's okay, only thing I really hated is you used to word "easy". It's not easy. PS: there's a dude who completes first playtrough on lvl 1, ergo don't use first playthrough as a reference for it being hard/easy. Demon's souls is The best game of the decade imo!

  • i dont know if someone already told u this in the comments but im just ganna say it again. your on the first playthrough, thats like playing on very easy mode. on the second play through the game increases in difficulty by 50% and each playthrough up to 7 goes up by 8% so its increasees 82% in difficulty by the time u finish the game... the bosses are easy but regular pvp an pve are hard as fuck

  • In my experience, once you get past a certain point in every playthrough such as destroying 2 arch demon's, you pretty much realize that you are a god. Nothing is really a challenge at that point, aside from say Allant, Doran, man eater or flame lurker.

  • not to mention if the level was hard for you when you are at full life u have half your life in phantom mode (EVEN WORSE it got harder) and you are doing the level in a darker tendancy for dieing and in phantom form

  • hahahahahahahaha i love the ending .... haven't fought against the boss maneater just yet....wonder what makes him so 'unforgivingly hard' hahaha

  • My character only died 10 times when I played DS. But I don't know if I can keep that record up in NG+

  • I got tired of this game real quick because that.

  • i thought man eater was easy......... but i do agree with what you said it's not difficult so much as punishing

  • There are two major things that makes Demon's Souls easy. The main thing that makes Demon's Souls easy is grass. Unlimited healing that you can pop any time, even the middle of a fight. Try playing the game with no grass at all, or limit yourself to ~3 grass per level. The other thing that makes it so easy is cautiosness. The game cannot deal with cautious play. In most games there are spots where you cannot be cautious, or where you will be punished even if you are cautious. Not so in DS

  • in soul form you get increased attack and your more silent, so it's not THAT bad when you die

  • Lol I agree that it isn't that hard after you start playing a little bit but really? You died a lot in mirrors edge? Come on.. that game was childs play

  • so this video is about a maneater and a guy saying a video game is easy? ... cool

  • I beat man eater second try + flame lurker first at a low lev, this game is not that hard, it just requires thinking and alot of practice.

  • EVEN WORSE YOU FORGET THE MORE YOU DIE THE HARDER IT GETS

  • @XRebornXD Only if you die in body form do the enemies get harder. So if you die again while you were already in soul form, they stay the same.

  • @mmw818s yes you are right but soon you will earn your life back then you are endanger of dieing again and who knows maybe you used a stone (the stone that brings you back to life idc about the name lol dont tell me) to come back to life, die again and more black tendancy (EVEN WORSE it gets harder).

  • @XRebornXD Not unless you're playing an unpatched Asian version of the game. Both the US and EU releases are prepatched so that only deaths in body form will change world tendency.

  • @XRebornXD seriosly!? You know what fuck this game im getting skyrim

  • @captaineureka well ya same here but im also ganna get dark souls to

  • @XRebornXD but its not really like that...

    how is it harder?

i dont get it... it just doesnt feel much harder..

  • @rnoka well you might be good at it, but what i mean is when you die in human form you get black tendancy which make monsters stronger and you a bit weaker in phantom form and you might get black phantom npcs that are pretty tough which makes it harder than it was before you died

  • @XRebornXD Only if you die in body form outside the Nexus.

  • @TheBiAtheist well its unlikely that you'll die in the nexus unless you kill yourself so ya when i mean die i mean by a monster which means you gatta leave the nexus, then you'd probably die, then it'll get harder(and yes in body form)

  • @XRebornXD I always jumped off a high area in the Nexus right after getting my body back after defeating a boss just so I wouldn't risk making the game harder.

Have you played Dark Souls? So far it's much harder than Demon's Souls is.

  • well....when you died you can exit the game and restart so you never change the word tendency and you don't restar the level. the game save automactly when you pick up something or pass the checkpoint. i've finish the game 3 times and i'm never died :D

  • why the fuck would you play something that bullshit hard. if i play a game i want a challenge yes but why would you play a game that cheap which uses bullshit mechanics to pad its game length. you have to be a machoist to play garbage like this. a game where you die a lot is old along as it is fair with checkpoints it just seem like the director of this game was a sadist dickhead.

  • @danish211 I think you're just not in tune with the kind of experience that the game is intended to be. The challenge is to be careful and learn from your mistakes. The occasional problems with camera angle and the locking-on system aside, I don't think the difficulty is cheap. If anything, a lot of the bosses are perhaps too easy, given the many ways of cheesing them.

  • maneater is the best boss first plythrough its the only real challenge but then when u learn firstorm lol he is a joke 2 hits and hes dead im urrently 1 hitting him and laughing my way to he old monk lol playthrough 7 son lol

  • No loading the previous save? That's just bad design. I'm currently playing Resonance of Fate, which many also claim is a hard game, and it is, I died a lot in that game. But at least I can retry for a few hundred credits or make a save before I go to a dungeon, if I died too many times, I can reload the previous save. That gives challenge and yet there's a safety net. Demon Souls sounds like they just want to kick novice players in the balls.

  • I agree.. FUCK Maneater... You've forgot to mention with each subsequent playthrough the game gets exponentially harder. by playthorugh 3, its nearly impossible to get through the game by yourself. and only after playthrough 7 does the game actually stop increasing in difficulty.

  • @Syphonz currently on 7 lol the game got easy after 3 i just restarted and working on the blde stne trophi uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh final one :(

  • I agree, it is not THAT hard, though it has a steep learning curve and very high penalties. I also agree with the maneater part lol, if the second one comes before the first is dead. You could get fucked up...

  • To say this game is unforgiving is a understatement whenever i play it seems that i always get screwed, this is my second play through with my lvl 85 soul character yet i still die far too easly by common enemies, i no it is supposed to be challenging but i wish i actually felt that my character was progressing and not getting weaker. In conclusion playing through once is the best option because the second playthrough is just another headache filled with new found frustration.

  • EEEEEVEN WORSE.

  • I played the game for my 1st time today and I died due to a glitch, other than that, the game so far is relatively easy. You just need patience for the game.

Kind of sad that these "pros" believe this game is hard as heck, I bet they never had a run of the good 'ol NES classics. THOSE were hard, this, as you mentioned, is just unforgiving.

I completely agree with your review. I believe it the game's mechanics were a bit more polished the game would be so much easier than it already is.

  • k... now play a new game on the same character and then you can rewright the entire review lol.

the only reason anyone dies in a game like mirrors edge is because they're trying to do everything fast and perfectly to make it more fun/cool. if you take your time and be careful (lame as it may be in that game) you wont die... ever... unless you suck at video games. i died so many times on old king alant that i had the path to him from spawn memorized and could run through it in under 3 minutes.

  • @Ronald3570 Are you talking about Allant on NG+ or Allant on first-time runthrough? I beat him on my first time playing the game at my second try in my own world (after one time as a Blue Phantom). In my most recent playthrough I one-shotted him (he was bugged but still...).

But yeah, New Game + is a little bit more of a challenge. I'm playing through that right now on, but honestly I think the game still has the same type of "hard," as in: not very hard; just unforgiving.

  • @Trynant i had a ton of trouble on him on my first playthrough. maybe i just didnt get the hang of him, or i tried to fight him too early. but i ended up beating him after i got old king dorans armor. being able to roll quickly was a lifesaver. keep in mind i didnt do any of the bugs/tricks to kill him, i feel like doing those things defeat the purpose of the game being challenging.

  • @Ronald3570 Ah, yes if you're not rolling fast with Allant that would make the fight a much bigger pain! That's kinda how Demon's Souls does things though; knowing what to do and coming prepared is just as important--if not more important--than twitch skills. And I agree about not using bugs; it was just when I was midway through fighting the guy he bugged out in a way I never had seen before and I sure as heck wasn't going to redo the fight just because the game was being stupid.

  • @Trynant This game isnt that hard.. its just got tricks up its sleeve at all times, random falls, misleading hall ways, enemys with surprising attacks, souls losses, once you get used to it the games easy as hell

  • @xRAGEProductionx lol try killing black phantoms in valley of defilement in 5-2 when you have to trudge through the marsh... i just cast cloak and sneak by because you can't dodge and your stamina gets eaten up fast and die in 2 hits. I am soul level 288 and i get 2 shotted with no stamina up for block. If you are so pro lets see a video of you in pure black soul tendency in valley of defilement like i was dying 20 times to black phantoms. GG sir

  • @Slayyn1723 How many playthroughs, Seeing as youre soul level 288 that means you had to have beaten the game a handful of times, it gets harder each time you beat it, and your soul level really doesnt help, Ive beaten the first playthrough at soul level 1, No cheats, No nothing, It just takes practice, if i could make a video, i would, I'll admit, 5-2 in black soul tendency is a bit tough, but again, only gotta be careful, Thats all you have to do, Once you get careless... well... Youre done.

  • @Slayyn1723 And P.S. I havent played Demons Souls in many months, but i still remember every ounce of that game, i've put enough time and effort into it to master most everything, Now, i'm not the greatest, i still make mistakes, and get mad, but thats just it, Like he says in the video, dont get careless, Its suicide to try to avoid fighting people, PVE- Learn to dodge, and parry, everything can be dodged or avoided. All i can say.

  • @Trynant cant redo the fight anyways because it would have autosaved =P

  • @Trynant for real screw maneater lol

  • @pudzybaby2k7 The comparison was made to point out that an easy game like Mirror's Edge still kills you more than Demon's Souls does.

But yeah there really is no similarity between the games.

  • @Trynant he obviously just doesn't get it, don't waste your time responding to it.

  • Mirror's Edge is also not an RPG with levels... I don't think I've EVER died on Fallout3 maybe only a couple times on Oblivion as well (both RPGs like Demon's Souls). That's why people say it's so hard; it IS INSANE in comparison with other games in its own GENRE, but still not as bad as people say it is... apart from Maneaters, ugh I agree with you on that.

  • I FUCKING HATE MANEATERS! GAWD!!! THEY MADE ME THEY'RE BITCH XD

  • The only time you should be in the position when you're at the risk of dying is when you're feeling particularly confident or cheeky, or when you're deliberately aiming for black world tendency. The rest of the time - I at least - killed myself in the nexus and didn't risk 'blackening' any of the worlds.

But you're right, its not actually that bad. Its more of a trial and error thing, and of course going through the effort of getting good items is vital.

  • Demon Souls is easy compared to old school games with limited life. Contra and Battle Toad brings back memory.
