The problem with Debbie Watson as Marilyn was that she looked more like a Gidget than a Marilyn. Even as a kid I had always figured that the character was named in honor of Marilyn Monroe. Watson was girl-next-door pretty, rather than movie star gorgeous,so Herman's usual lines about Marilyn being the "homely" member of the family don't quite work,here...
i wish the stores had some figurines or dolls of the munster family. i'm surprised that i haven't seen any. i see plenty of figurines and dolls of spider-man, batman, superman, star wars characters, and so forth, yet no munster family. if they do come out with the munster family, i'd likely prefer them in black- and- white.
hanks------ i suppose you got them at some high-price collectors' place. i was talking about regular stores. i'm surprised that i've never seen such items at regular stores, like kmart or convenience stores .
one of my favorite scenes from the munsters was the one with herman singing "dry bones". it's the best rendition i've seen. the song is based on something in the book of ezekiel in the christian old testament. i bet the author of those bible verses never dreamed that the verses would wind up in herman's repertoire.
the munster's bat (igor) seems a bit bigger than the bats in my neighborhood. my neighbor has a bat house on the side of his house. the other night, i was walking by it, and there was a flock of bats flying in and out of it, making their high-pitched squeaks. one bat flew into the back of my head. i guess it wasn't used to someone standing there in his line of flight.
unfortunately the few that have rabies are likely to be the bats that are most likely to fly right over to a person. lol
---in horror movies and tv shows, bats often hover in place without much movement backwards or forwards. in real life, i haven't seen bats hovering like that, nor have i seen them hovering like that in nature programs. maybe the horror movies and tv shows were using fake bats. i hate to think that igor on the munsters might have been a fake bat hanging from a string. lol
munster go home is great. i was well familiar with the tv show before seeing the movie, and it was nice to see the characters in color. nonetheless, if i ever watch it again, i'll probably set the tv to black-and-white so it'll have the traditional look of the tv series. i guess i'm attached to the traditional look because i grew up watching the show so much.
This is the first film i remember my Father takinng me to instead of my Mom. It was sold out so we ended up going to the movie playing next to it.. THE GHOST AND MR CHICKEN.. still one of my favorite memories.
I saw this film many times, but this is the first time I've ever viewed its trailer; excellent! Of course, this was released just as the CBS primetime series was winding down, and, unlike the TV show, the movie was in Living Technicolor!
Sort of makes you wonder what the TV series would have been like had it been renewed for its 3rd season...oh, the possibilities! ;-)
Did this get a release in theatres?

They used to show this regularly on TV when I was growing up. Sad it's not shown much anymore:( I also miss seeing The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
