My dog does this you need to calm the dog down and give them water and go to a vet , its frightening for the dog please go and get this checked out , don ttouch throat like you are doing
Reverse sneeze...my dog does it too. GENTLY massage their throat and talk calmly to them to put them more at ease. Good luck, I know it's scary.

It's called a reverse sneeze. It seems a lot worse than it is~ look it up on the net for more information, as I am just learning about this myself
