People can talk about cultural dysfunctions & role models of America, this man
is in no position to talk about either. A topic that's best to promote, is the spiritual maturity & growth of individuals. More Mega-Church preachers, are getting in trouble, The spotlight of these mega-churches are getting more narrower, while the lives of individuals are getting forgotten. Okay The Eddie Long Scandal has happened, but is the oppressor to blame for another one of
TD Jakes, talking about oppression??????? He is one of the major players as an oppressor in this country. These people always telling people what not to do and they are doing everything. He surely can't tell me what to do with my kids, He need to take a good look at his own family problems. He is not doing so well with that, PROOF son being arrested for some stuff that has been stewing for years.
He's statements are true..but you are also right in the sense that money won't last and God doesn't see us as black or white..however he's simply discussing reality and the mental state of our generation, whether you like him or not you can see signs of his statements all over
In all you write, consider that CNN put this up..the clip is only a minute and thirty eight seconds long,I'm quite sure that the meeting lasted a few hours,we don't know what was said with the other several minutes that did not make cnn's uploaded clip.
Remember, Christ doesn't consider us black, white, or green. We do. Here, he is speaking from his race, not from the Bible. I usually support him, but clearly not here. You should remember that worldly wealth isn't the goal...period. The goal is spreading the good news (or in greek, gospel) to the world. That's the diff between riches stored in heaven, and those stored on earth. From history, we should know those don't last anyways.
While I agree with Jakes many times, I don't think he actually said much here, at least as a pastor. The Bible is pretty clear about what are goals are. He is saying our goals should be modified (which is true), but he didn't finish the subject. He could have just simplified it by saying becoming rich shouldn't be your goal, since God/Jesus have made that clear. Instead, he seems to be looking at the subject through race, which is against what Christ was saying.
Lol whats up with that nigga with the white hair...kinda cool looking and funny.
This video is what I like to call black assimilation. When ever church and media have their hands in anything, it always controlled to their liking. Ya these are suppose to be "words of encouragement" and to portray the black problem as it is getting better when we all know dam well its not. If call some of these black famus people progress then we have failed...WE need a new game plan.
@xBloodXGusherx The game plan is to follow the word of God. TD Jakes is a business man, and contrary to popular belief, he is not a real pastor. He knows how to talk a good game. And he's famous because he's willing to play the devil's game, therefore the devil made him famous. But in the end, Jakes and satan will be burning together in VERY hot fire, and there will be no fame and glory in that place for Jakes. Him and his oppression solutions will burn in the lake of fire.
@thegdoat I agree with some of what you are saying. Which could be true about the business man part. Most pastors come off as con men to me. What I dont agree with is the game plan being "God" Without trying to offend your belief system..God..moses..mary...john...RELIGION...is how they are controlling us. Religion is a tool of control. A well constructed one which is why it is soo easy for people to believe in it and fall back on it. Soo much more to this i want to say..the info is soo deep.
Is it just me, or does it look like the all seeing eye on his forehead? lol, this man here!!!!!! What a phony.
