  • OMG! I've got one of these literally stuck on my laptop! WOOOOOOOOOW!!!

    T_T

  • I was going to buy one of them until I found that I could use my iphone instead.

  • @dreidesq how does it work with an iphone. Would it work with an ipad.

  • in my opinion i think the magic trackpad is sht. i just got it, and i had problems with installing it. and well. when i tried it, clicking was hard :S if i would rate this thingie i would rate it 2/7 semi-trailers.

  • hahahaha wiki wiki like your favorite dj ! xd

  • The trackpad is the death of the mouse.

  • stupid product, there are so many problems, such as when you click, the pointer will be shift a bit (never with the mouse), the movement is not flexible (as you should use only 1 finger to move the pointer for precision), any action need to lift up the hand, and have no button felling (as you see how crazy if someone use something like this to make a "touch keyboard"). So I think this product is only for people who don't use the computer for work, just for entertainment. Sorry for my English

  • @condohoi1234 Not at all! I don't know what you are talking about, I have had one for months and it is great!

  • nice

  • can you attach it so the wireless keyboard?

  • You sound just like Tom DeLonge from blink! :D

  • Hey, Mac user! Ur mouth is dirty with cum. Gotcha!

  • i prefer exercise my hands with a woman ass ...not a silver plate....once you go mac...την εκανες την μαλακια..για σου ρε στιβ αθανατε....παω να παιξω τωρα το cod black ops...δεν ρωτησα ..στο μακ βγηκε;; η ακομα;;

  • not understand . is it incremental or absolute positioning? is it clinging to fingers?

  • good vid. I've almost got the same exact setup as you do

  • I really love my Magic Trackpad, I've had it for a while now and i use it about 90% of the time i.e.. general use of the computer, surfing the web email movies, etc... I have my Razer Death adder only plugged in when I need it for games and photo editing basically when i need more precision.

  • Very awesome product, too bad you need to be on Mac OSX 10.6.4 to use it. I didn't realize that when I bought it so couldn't use it until I went out and bought the snow leopard upgrade.

  • lol i am usin one right now this is the best idea yet

  • Let me point out a few facts as to why this product is a no-brainer:

    1. Moving your hand away from the keyboard to use a mouse = gay.

    2. You have to "physically move" a mouse=gay

    3. Once you reach the end of the "geo area" of your mouse, you have to lift it and set it back down=gay

  • Noticed all the hater fags on here posing as Mac users. Obviously you guys are 13 year old gamer queers that still suck on moms tit at home. I have waited for this product for 7 years now.

  • piece of crap

  • people who have this have way too much expendable income

  • @daryl874 imagine they made a fully touchable moniter. sure the idea sounds cool but do you really want to hold up your arm all the time?

  • WTF would ANYONE replace mouse with a fucking trackpad... ppl buy portable mice because they DONT want to use the track pad... apple got it sooo wrong this time

  • I heard somewhere that they created this strictly as a joke to prove that anything they build will generate a line of losers who 'must have it'.

  • that is nice shit right there

  • Worthless junk... and unhealthy aswell..

  • @muzvit unhealthy based on what facts? worthless based on your own lack of creativity?

  • $80 for this [ INSERT BAD WORDS HERE ] ??? i would add $10 and buy a G9x

  • any good for gaming?

  • @uetzel i should just kill you right now.

  • apple freak ^^

  • this thing is soooo awesome! It just change the face of even using a mouse again. Its def. the future and Im sitting here knowing Im going go buy one tomorrow at the Apple Store. Thanks

  • apple has come along ways

  • so how was it? mouse vs trackpad? which one is more productive/faster to work with?

  • imac, ipad, iphone 4, macbook pro

do you really need them all?

  • ah finally

I like trackpads way better than mouses.

  • Plus when I'm doing work on my chair my mouse is so hard to use so to get this Magic Trackpad will be a life saving for me, but 2 weeks is a long time to wait to get one,,, come on apple get it together,,, they never make enough so when the next week comes they have to make more again, isn't it best to make a billion and put them in warehouse and in store stock too,,, well anyways i can't wait to get my hands on it,

  • so looks awesome but getting one in your hands is another thing, i just order this on the Apple Store and it said it won't be shipping until the 18th of this month, that is longer then 5 to 7 business days, If apple could think to put pick up in store that would be great, and also have an check stores to see how many is in stock,,, anyways just pisses me off,,,

but about this Magic Trackpad, i been hating using my mouse and trackpad on macbook and my macbook is old school lol..

  • PC COMPUTER SUCK MY BALLS !!! NOTHING BUT A VIRUS MACHINE.

  • @webcodesigns416 A Mac is a PC. Get your facts straight.

  • good video man, i like a nice simple review from time to time. love the appearance of the iphone 4 too. (Y)

  • i wish i had an imac

  • Do i smell apple fanboy?

  • Thanks Mark!

  • hahha at the end u said magic mouse

  • dude i have a mac mini and a iphone 4 but how can u afford an imac and macbook pro??

  • mac head lol ive seen macbook pro , i mac, trackpad, iphone 4,ipad and magic mouse. cant blame you, there all amazing products.

  • magic trackpad, macbook pro, imac, iphone 4 , jesus someone knows how to spend their money!

  • dude nice vid

  • how much was that? $2999? probably

  • What I notice recently is how Mac makes "The Perfect Product" and this product is followed by literally thousands of accessories to make it more perfect? For me, this is pointless. I see how people are looking at the trackpads on laptops as some sort of a retarded device that will make you do the same exercise thousand times until you finally reach what you want on the screen and Mac is making these for desktops. No, thank you! I will keep my logitech g5.

  • you've got some nice apple equipment there, a iMac 27", MacBook Pro (15"?), iPhone 4, and the new Magic Trackpad! Nice!

  • it looks cool but useless

  • are you left handed? the Magic Trackpad is on the right of the keyboard but your using your left hand. 2:44

  • im so happy with my 5$ PC white mouse, ill pass

  • $40 would be a lot better

  • Tthe trackpad has some nice features like the zoom and rotation-abillity.

But I'm not a fan of products that don't have built in chargers and uses standard batteres instead. One would think that companies like Apple would think more on the enviroment. Sure you can use rechargable batteries, but why not a possibillity to charge the pad via the computer itself?

A flip-out USB to plug in when the pad is not in use.

Maybe that will be on the next version?

  • @Hongkongaction Apple released a AA charger and batteries.

  • @Hongkongaction a rechargeable battery has a life span and will make the device more expensive if it were built in. you can swap your rechargeable batteries with a fresh pair while the first set is recharged

  • @Hongkongaction don't confuse apple with hipsters, even though they go hand in hand.

  • 0:44 Wooooooooooooooo!!

  • once you go mac...you never go back!!

  • @shadoukyn wrong, I prefer my Windows 7 PC over my MacBook Air anytime. By the way, does this thing work on a pc?

  • @shadoukyn heh

  • @shadoukyn ssssoooo true

  • @shadoukyn not true, i'm a cross platform user. windows and mac.

  • @shadoukyn I went mac and iwent back, but then I got bored and now I am both!

  • @shadoukyn my bro did...

  • @shadoukyn

    I went...linux far better...

  • @shadoukyn is that a problem?

  • I'm getting one when I have the money. It will be nice to get rid of my mouse pad. It will also make it more easier for me to use rather than having to pick up a mouse, set it down drag it and repeat. Plus it's a space saver, like those big old upside down track balls of the past.

  • @steelbelter76

With teh use of a mouse that has a DPI-button you don't have to lift your mouse ever.

Since I've bought my ACE-mouse I've not used more than a third of my mousepad (standardsize) and it's extreamly lightweight and feels really good in my hand.

  • @steelbelter76 Set your mouse sensitivity higher and you won't have to move the mouse as far, then you won't need to lift it.

  • dude how much did you spend?

  • nice ,but how does it really work with working with it? You like it? Show us!

  • Comment removed

  • Normally you would get a mouse because you would get sick of the trackpad. No you are doing the opposide? If you like trackpads it is great and it might be nice to just have to the side for scrolling.

  • no good for gaming

  • Must be fun being as spoiled as you must be.

  • the only "problem" im seeing with my magic trackpad so far is that i dont have this rest for my hand that i used to have with my logitech mx518..

but its gonna take some more time to figure out wether thats really an issue or not..

    awesome device though! love it

  • i still like my magic mouse :D

  • FYI: You said magic mouse at the end.

  • didn't wacom do this with Bamboo Touch a year ago and it dose more for $30 less

  • Will it also work with macbook & macbook pro?

  • Just got my Apple Trackpad this morning.

It's really awesome...those that are saying it's a useless invention are ignorant to that fact they never tried it and basing it off experience with the horrible experiences of crappy PC laptop trackpads.

For normal everyday tasks, the Apple Trackpad is a much better pointing system with intuitive multi finger uses that make it a better mouse. The only reason I'm pulling out the old standard mouse is to play FPS gaming.

    Thanks for the video

  • @Jeffyg3 :)

  • @Jeffyg3 The point of it the track pad is...?

  • @Jeffyg3 Fanboy. PC trackpads are fine. And mice are infinitely better than a trackpad. No stupid swiping your finger across a surface. Point and click.

  • @Jeffyg3 multi touching surfaces, i didn't even know you can have a patent on that. even so, that's such a dick thing to do to get a patent on that.

  • @Jeffyg3 dishing out 80 bucks for everything a mouse can do.

  • @Jeffyg3 play fps on xbox

  • only apple can put out utter useless products and make ppl buy it... thats the only magic here.

  • @Dalusa thumbs up 4 u

  • well thats not new

  • the future is the holographic computer. So far making the holographic image was not a problem today. But the problem was how to touch the holographic image and they just solved that in Japan. This is a major breakthrough for computer science.

  • a wonderful experience! WTF?

  • Damn, Apple is raking in that money with useless inventions.

  • quite troublesome for the fingers

  • for what should i need that ? mouse is enough. damn

  • Completely pointless invention , why try to replace the mouse when it's already perfect ? I will stick to my Microsoft X8 sidewinder mouse kthx.

  • @deanshabi That's what I thought at first - nothing can beet an old mouse, but after using the trackpad on my cousin's MacBook Pro, I much prefer Apple's Trackpad now - except when it comes to gaming. Thing is, you don't really know until you actually use one for a while - no other trackpad is anywhere near as good as the Apple trackpads on the PC. Never thought I'd say it, but I'd rather use a trackpad (Apple) than a regular mouse.

  • i dnt see a dammn diff between that chit and a regular mouth o_O

  • I so gotta get one of these... seems better than the magic mouse!

  • You could have made this video much better. I'd like to actually watch someone browse the web with the magic trackpad, not flip the camera up and down while quickly showing me a couple basic functions. Let's see this thing operating in real world use for just a minute or two.

  • don't you know how to take a video and please go and take a lesson and learn it man..

you just moving around without shooting what you should do..

  • Don't touch the small black bar on the top or your iMac will drop your WLAN connection...

  • want this little fucker for windows too!! :D

  • for a mouse too big

  • totally useless. Just like steve jobs

  • @neoslover Jobs is one of the top five CEOs, you obvious loser.

  • I am ging to get this regardless however can you have both Mouse and Trackpad connected so you can switch from Mouse to Trackpad whenever you want?

  • if this takes well to consumer i can see there being a keyboard with a trackpad combined on the side

  • FYI trackpads for desktops have been available for a LONG time, this one happens to be extremely aesthetically pleasing...but its not very magical lol...personally i cant understand why someone would want one of these considering the amount of people who have laptops with trackpads that buy separate mouses...because trackpads are really annoying to use...

from a man who hates apple, god dam that is a sexy peripheral!

  • @gofudgeyourselfx

Yeah, they've been around for desktops for a long time, but they come nowhere near as good as the ones on the macbook pros. the 4 finger gestures, texture and smoothness of the response, and size make a phenominal difference than the ones on the PCs...track pads available for PCs are crap in comparison on the trackpads on the Apple laptops, and this coming to the desktop is great. I hope this works fine on Windows 7 as well. I'll be using it for both Mac & PC.

  • it looks very neat and nice but the only thing I hate about laptops it their mouse, so I would NEVER buy a laptop-looking-mouse for a regular desktop lol but for those who like it good for them idk why Im even watching this im more a PC guy even though Mac is better for virus protection but idc i like my PCs hahaha good stuff there though

  • haha NOT for gamers/

  • Anything wireless is a pain in the ass...one of those things that seems like a great idea until wireless signals cross talk & screw up and batteries start dying.

  • Ugly fingers O_o

  • @EsteeEsteeEstee thanks.

  • @EsteeEsteeEstee Ugly... Fingers? How are his fingers ugly? What a ridiculous comment. How are FINGERS ugly?! You must be extremeley self-conscious if you judge yourself on the basis of individual body parts. ahaha

  • @mkeeeee Apologies for offending. It was a spur of the moment comment.

  • @EsteeEsteeEstee my fingers more ugly...they dynamic ^^

  • Congrats on being one of the first to demo it. Not even apple posted a video. On suggestion though: it would have been better for you to keep the video cam steady on your hand and then use a video capture for showing the desktop actions. Then splice the two together in a movie editor. Despite that, your vid answer a few questions I had. Thanks.

  • no body is ganna get the magic mouse anymore!

  • Here's the thing, you could of had this months ago, Wacom has a multi-touch pad. Sure it's not wireless, but who gives a damn.

  • Rich bastard. He has all apple stuff. Thats not cheap. I wish I could have that kind of setup

  • a mouse is much easier

i hate using those on laptops

  • How you get the white bumper?

  • GET TO SHOWING US HOW IT WORKS, WOULD YA?!?!

  • WA$TE OF MONEY

  • totally stole that joke from jacksfilms

  • I can see from your video you're funding Steve Job's life style.

  • wow

  • Ok.... Why are you so rich?

  • Awesome !! This gives me every reason to switch to a Mac.I was undecided for while, but I think I'm pretty sure that I'm going to buy an iMac now.

  • first actual video where some one uses it! :) good work iWANT ONE!

  • When mouse's just arn't good enough....

  • what does this do?

    is it like a mouse?

  • i would rather use a mouse :)

  • Yay for Apple gimmicks

  • meaw!

  • Do you prefer the magic mouse or the magic trackpad?

  • @bACEball trackpad

  • another item to waste your money on. that shit is usless unless you want to show it off, + using it is alot more work then a normal mouse which is faster and easier.

  • Говно! Говно ваш iPad!... Мне два!

  • Hi, I've just seen Inception and it is amazing!

Also I was a massive Apple fan but now I am more of a Google fan, I think it is because Google do NEARLY everything well now and working at the campus in Mountain View, California has really great reviews :-)

VOTE THIS UP if you agree Apple went down hill since the launch of the iPhone or the year 2006 because I miss the apple that was a computer company?

Don't know about you but Apple seem to have lost their spirit in the past decade?

  • why would you use a trackpad when you have a mouse o_o

  • @jchang911 Some ppl prefer 1 over the other, but tbh i think that its just another way for apple to "Trick" money from its customer xD

  • @EMPZHAR

trick money from its customer? its steve jobs, not david blaine. the only person responsible for spending money is yourself.

  • @deafimplant Notice the " " xD

I am sorry, use google trslt, if you need.

  • Have you tried booting into Windows to see if any of the functions work? I'm wondering if you would need to keep a mouse on hand for Boot Camp Windows use.

  • Comment removed

  • @martianspy Non-Mulittouch features work.

  • magic mouse where is it ? can i have it ?

  • where did u go about finding a white bumper?

  • I want to live in America and have Ilife

  • Marc, can't you get somebody to shoot you so we can see the screen and the Trackpad at the same time? We'd like to see the active connection between pad and screen. Do a one minute sequel. Congratulations on getting this up before anybody, though.

  • It looks great, I wonder how drawing/animation for big projects would be. If you have to hold down left click with one hand, and then draw with right hand.

  • I want it.

After I got my macbook pro I was like wow my imac should be this easy to control.

  • If i have 10.6.4 will I still have to get an update for this? because so far I haven't been able to get it?

  • Please support closed captioning I do not understand you because many deaf people like me are into iphone and mac. Thanks.

  • Thats really a nice review, the only thing is i dont know how this will go if you are a gamer ,,

  • @tawfikakkad If you're a gamer you probably won't be using a mac :)

  • You can't touch too close to the line at the top or else you lose connectivity to the computer.

  • @atm4610 haha if you're referring to the death-grip

  • Why do you have this so early? How is this possible?

  • Congrats on being one of the first to demo it. Not even apple posted a video. On suggestion though: it would have been better for you to keep the video cam steady on your hand and then use a video capture for showing the desktop actions. Then splice the two together in a movie editor. Despite that, your vid answer a few questions I had. Thanks.

  • @bakari45 Thanks, we got full coverage at 9to5mac.com -- consider making an account and comment there :)

  • When you push down does it actually click? Or is it like a touch screen?

  • @SuperJumpman95 Click, that's explained in the video :)

  • @SuperJumpman95 yeah, the feet click

"Despite the Magic Trackpad's thinness and its support for the same tap-to-click feature as MacBook trackpads, you can also click by pressing down. The trackpad surface itself doesn't depress, though--instead, when you press on the trackpad, the force from the surface it's sitting on will depress the two round feet at the trackpad's base. That's what registers a click." - Macworld

  • @SuperJumpman95

It does click physically and is also a touch-sensitive device. Just like the macbook trackpad.
