  • flagstaff is a huge rail hub. its along a main rail line in the us

  • There is nothing more better. then hearing a long heavy freight. Real music to my ear

  • 105 cars and 9 engines... awesome catch!

  • verry nice..

  • i love the 2nd train nice!!!

  • wow 9 locomotives!!

  • I went to flagstaff and we did not have time to see the tracks but our hotel was next6 to them rigt next to the mountain

  • china shipping, hanjin, cosco

  • WOW!!!! The second train had helpers in the middle and back!!!! Awsome!!!

  • Between 70 and 90, and I've heard of over 100 daily.

  • wow enormissime le deuxième convoi.

    Superbe vidéo

  • Awsome horn. great vid. 5 stars

  • good video

  • how come the have engines in the middle of the frieght is it just for more power for speed because i have seen many at the end also

  • Most likely just for the power, don't know what the criteria is for splitting them up the way they do. I don't see many mid-train DPUs on the Seligman Sub.

  • the rPUS are sent with the tRain the whole way, start at the start of that trains start Because of Grades of nebraska/Techapi,Raton etc

  • I'd be surprised to see them route this over Raton, it would probably have to be doubled-over.

  • Honeslty its not ive seen trains in TeaCHAPi that have the same amount of power. Like i said they are added on the train when the Jouney is started,so there is no reason to add additional helpers. The grade threw Arizona only requires 5000 Hp max this train is crusing.

  • Raton, though, is a pretty ugly beast compared to Tehachapi. I'm pretty sure that they had to double over Z trains when they would re-route.

  • great vid, western railroads own!

  • Nice Dash-9 units at start. 5 stars!

  • Men,great video!Congratulations from Portugal...

  • we get CSXT grain trains here (I'll have to find one) with well over 120 cars (I got an empty one on video the G85520) but we don't use DPUs here. Don't know why though.

  • Is there much in the way of grades down there?

  • a few hills no real "Grade" to speak of.....

  • Now thats what i call freight trains!were' stuck with big girls blouse ones over here in the UK!

  • big girl's blouse...That's a funny way to put it!

  • call it like it is Brit freight trains=shite

  • Great Video!

  • Sweet video. i rated you 5 Star. i hope you can go check mine out.

  • your intermodal trains puts the UK ones to shame!

    Great vid, and two tones!!!

  • i got a pal who works for bnsf

  • Ahhh Flagstaff. It's amazing, one would think trains every 15 minutes would drive you crazy, but you get used to it. I miss Flag. One of the best places I've ever lived. And for Gods sake every city should have a "Beaver Street."

  • Awesome I found that spot a few months ago trains come every 15 mimutes Its sweet. I take videos I havn't uploaded any though.

  • That train is called "The Triple Penetrator" and heads to a large grain facility called Swansons near Fresno California. The helpers are pulled off in Bakersfield, California.

  • Interesting name. Do you know where it's loaded?

  • -9 are nice engines lots of hp.

  • Wow ! 105 locos cements,Supported by 4 front engine,3 midle engine and 2 back engine.

    Where the place?

  • this is flagstaff, arizona.

  • r u an engineer or just know a lot of things bout trains

  • Amazing sight, specially for those of us in the UK where railfreight isn't very significant. With the train taking 5 minutes to pass you can see the temptation for drivers to take a risk at level crossings!

  • heavy grain train ,amazing video.

  • It was 105 cars on the grain train.

Those helper units may seem like a lot but they need all the help they can get while going uphill.

  • I can see the DPU's, but the middle units seemed like a bit much. Maybe if the train had 160 cars or something.

  • Not when you have to deal with the Arizona Divide and making it over Goffs Hill and Ash Hill, especially Ash Hill since that grade's 2.1% and braking power down towards Bakersfeild over Tehachapi!

  • why did they have the locos in middle

  • WOW!! 9 locos on that grain train. 4 in front, 3 in the middle and 2 on the back! The demo unit and that ugly BNSF on the back add a nice touch.

    Thanks for sharing
