@oldskoolECWfan69 "thrasher" sounded exactly like newer slayer to me and "cult" like metallica. Then again almost nothing can be original anymore and maybe Im just too critical about new metal. I think evile sounds pretty good so far tho and its cool they are at radio rock cruise this year.
damn ib the beginning they sounded just like slayer(or that is to say that matt sounded like tom) but this si something completely different alright....it´s better then their earlier stuff
Interesting to see how Matt Drake's voice has evolved over time. He went from the Araya shout to a frankly fairly bizarre growl-ish type style, and now he's a mix of the Araya shout and having actual vocal training (vibrato and all that).
i like evile, enter the grave is in my top 25 favorite metal albums of all time, but it doesn't seem like they were able to get that magic back for infected nations, hopefully this is able to grab my attention like that debut album did.
When I listened to Enter The Grave, I didn't buy it because I thought it was a great album, it was good, but nothing new. But, I heard a band with a lot of potential that would make a very good and original band one day, so I bought it. Then when Infected Nations came out I was super stoked and they disappointed me, it sounded more original but not as qualitative as ETG, still I held onto Evile. Now I listened to this and Cult, they did what I had expected/hoped: make their own music.
@MrHatinlife You're mistaken, I'm just sharing my opinion, I even wish there was no Thumbs up/Thumbs down, than people wouldn't be copying other comments just for the sake of getting thumbs up, which is totally meaningless.

You guys sound like the Metallica of this generation :D They must be one of your major Influences. And I respect anyone who can make Lady Gaga sound GOOD! I loved that Lady Gaga and Iron Maiden mash-up of Edge Of Glory made by Ol :D
Really liking this. Plenty of old school thrash energy but unique tunes with it. Also, how nice to hear a metal vocalist actually SINGING, rather than doing that annoying generic scream everyone else seems convinced constitutes vocals these days. Yes Sylosis, this means you.
Enter the grave is still their best album. They are slowly creeping away from their thrashy beginnings which just saddens me, so much potential. Ah well, as long as Gama bomb dont follow suit we'll still have awesome new thrash!
@UltimateHeroKing apart from a couple of tracks from their debut, i think this is the best thing they've done. they needed to change things, it had got pretty repetitive imo
@GSratm They are/where a thrash band, of course it was going to sound slightly repetitive. They could have changed things up without moving away from their original sound. I thought they would be one of the forerunners of the NWOTM, but this album proves how wrong I was.
@spleen1234567 I doubt idiot is the term I'd use, and if you deem this as thrash I'd advise you to educate yourself it what thrash metal is. Fair enough there are some thrashy riffs in this, but theres also way to much fluff. Thrash is raw, fast and technical, this is not
@UltimateHeroKing tell that to Testament and Megadeth, this Evile album is a s close to the Bay Area sound as you can get, and thrash was never just about speed or being raw either
@jfpbman People who refer to Slayer as "shitty" don't listen to Metal. Hell, even if you don't particularly like Slayer, no Metal or Thrash fan would ever call them shitty.
Wow... this is just epic... epic! Can't stop listening! Classic Evile, super fast riffs and awesomeness all around. Can't wait for the new record... will be fucking awesome.
And to anybody who calls them sellouts i ask you this, define "sellout". It was different back in the 80's when only pop groups and big acts had videos, but in this day and age EVERYBODY has a music video, and if they don't its because they don't have enough support. I'm happy that Evile is breaking through, finally our generation will be exposed to more creative music rather than spoon fed all that bloody meaningless bullshit on MTV and Kerrang. "Selling out" has been dead for years.
Always great when a band evolves from simple head on thrash to something deeper and more complex and people immediately scream "SELL OUT" or say they are losing it. Try pop music if you want music to be the same on every album.
Never thought evile would turn into what they are I heard them way back when the thrasher video only had a few hundred views not a fucking million! Glad that so far I haven't heard one shitty song by them the living dead and metamorphosis are their best songs
He looked from the cartridges to Reich.” Five serpent’s teeth to give to Gus.” “I told you this was innocent,” Reich said in a hard voice.” We’ll have to pull those teeth.”
This band is just racing to the freaking dirt. Weak song, from probably a very weak record (if the album is just as shitty as the album preview out on youtube).
@Esupano3 I'm so glad we have your professional opinion, because everybody would be lost without it... On a more serious note, this song kicks ass and the album will be good as the album preview suggested. How are they racing to the dirt if they are becoming better musicians while their integrity remains intact while also building an ever growing fan base of dedicated metalheads? I really don't see where they have remotely went wrong. Enlighten me.
@Alchohollica Basicly, they have just become this super mediocre thrash band that rips off SOOOOO much from old school Metallica (and if you don't hear it, you would surely need some medical attention regarding your capabilites of listening to music). The debut album was a ok debut record. Was promising enough, but Infected Nations was just pure shit from a shit sandwhich. And this record looks just as hopeless as the last one. A promising band ending up as a mediocre group with no future.
@Alchohollica Other than some obvious influences from not only Metallica (i'm more than familiar with their stuff, just look at my name) but also Slayer, Sepultura and largely Annihilator, they really havn't copied anybody. This song is pretty awesome, but from the parts I heard from the rest if the album, I think this might be the worst one on it. This album's going to be fucking great!
Honestly, their second album was crap. And this one maybe could be an improvement. By the way, there are much better (and funnier) thrash metal bands out there...
i was expecting a bigger revamp of their sound tbh, i also wanted some really memorable riffs as i really think this album could be their break through album cuz bands like slayer and anthrax were still tiny until their third album. I reckon they could really become as big as slayer if this album is a success. this song is awesome but i know they have some better songs on the new album, i can sense it...
@ArseLoad0fMetal666 i agree that this could be their break through album. The third album seems to be the lucky one for other thrash bands, Metallica-Master Of Puppets, Anthrax-Among the Living, Slayer-Reign In Blood, ...Evile-Five Serpents Teeth
This band, better than any current thrash band, or meta band in general, truly harkens back to the sounds of old school testament, forbidden, old school Metallica, Kreator, Sepultura, Annihilator, Heathen, and many, many great thrash bands. Evile is the best of the best among the new wave of thrash.
This reminds me of both Metallica and Slayer like 0:47 sounds like a Slayer riff, then at 2:04 reminds me of Metallica with the vocal style and melodies... Therefore, in my opinion, Evile could even be on the mainstage of Sonisphere, they are just extremely underrated.

Honestly, their second album was crap. And this one maybe could be an improvement. By the way, there are much better (and funnier) thrash metal bands out there...

Evile and Slayer should tour together, they would sound equally powerful.

i was expecting a bigger revamp of their sound tbh, i also wanted some really memorable riffs as i really think this album could be their break through album cuz bands like slayer and anthrax were still tiny until their third album.

BESIDE OF BONDED BY BLOOD IS THE BETTER THRASH METAL BAND OF THE NEW GENERATION!!!! HAIL TRUE THRASHERS
bayarea60 7 months ago
This band, better than any current thrash band, or meta band in general, truly harkens back to the sounds of old school testament, forbidden, old school Metallica, Kreator, Sepultura, Annihilator, Heathen, and many, many great thrash bands. Evile is the best of the best among the new wave of thrash.

Evile is one the best "new" thrash band of today. They sound really old school but with a modern heaviness.

hear you in september evile \m/

This reminds me of both Metallica and Slayer like 0:47 sounds like a Slayer riff, then at 2:04 reminds me of Metallica with the vocal style and melodies... Therefore, in my opinion, Evile could even be on the mainstage of Sonisphere, they are just extremely underrated.
