Tremendous performance by the Titans! I never heard of this flick, however. Some of these 50`s "B" movies showcased some EXCELLENT vocal group harmony such as this.To hear groups like this is well worth the price of admission or, even better, owning the DVD if available!
What you may not realize is that the guy singing second from the right is Curtis Knight who performed with Jimi Hendrix. He sang with the Titans under the name Curtis McNair after his cousin Barbara McNair. He later changed his performing name to Curtis Knight when he started his solo career.
I have the whole movie. It's difficult to get through, but this is a killer cut. I also have this song by the Vitamins on the Vita label and I have a version by the British group Rocky Sharpe & the Razors.
I also have the movie, and I think there are a few other songs by various groups including the Titans. I haven't watched it in years. My VHS is dead! When I retire, I'll try to upload some private birthday party clips featuring the original group members as they sang in the 70s and 80s. Classic cuts. Hope to improve the quality by then.
Yes this come out on Vita#148 titled So Hard To Laugh So Easy To Cry with the Jack Collier Orch. backing them according to the label. I have it on a pristine 78rpm., & that is the way you'd like to really hear it. Thanks for posting the video
great stuff i love the vita record label, some of my favorite,s colts, squires, titans, fyi, don and dewey came from the squires.i am not absolutely sure but i believe sonny knight recorded confidential on vita.
was this record ever released with instrumentation coz ive only got them doing an Acapella Version on a Vita LP on Relic. It Should have Been a Big HIT wouldnt you say?
Yes, I do remember this coming out as an acapella cut on a Relic LP. Actually, it was one of the best acapella group sounds ever. I assume it came out with music on Vita, but I really don't have any proof. Regardless, it's excellent.
Thanks! I should have known that. Do you know why the sound is often behind the picture on many of these old-group clips? I have more I could upload, but I do want them to be in sync. Take care.
This was as nice as it gets......thanks(Eddie Brian)

The harmony is so tight. I am amazed at how the microphone picks everyone up. Of course I am taking for granted that they ARE singing live.

this group is fantastic . I agree they should have been bigger . They capture the smooth sound of the classic doowop age between 54-57 .

These are not Live Recordings, just Lipssync.I think it wasn´t important for the Filmmakers.
For exsample the Five Satins (anounced as Fred Parris and the Satins). Your hear five Voices but there just 4 Guys on stage.
