He is exhaling. Those just aren't the typical low growls. Those are gutturals. And honestly this is easier to exhale than inhale. And you can see how he takes a good breath before he starts growling/doing gutturals like at 0:25

Those bands basiclly were the starting point for this kinda Music. These bands wanted to go further. Different Vocals etc. So they wouldnt sound the same. CC conquerd like Lyrics. Vital Remains and Deicde did for anti religion etc. But you should check out Suffocation. They created Brutal Death Metal. If you listen to them then listen to some Brutal Death metal bands such as Devourment you can here the infulence. Like the slow beakdowns etc. Suffocation did breakdowns in Death metal first.

they are not very hard to tell apart if u listen to them often........., gorecore is not as quick and sounds more like waking the cadaver. grindcore is more complex and sounds more like the red chord, despised icon, and ion dissonance. and despised icon has some music that is more death metal and some that is more grind. i love both,

Same idea as using two single-double bass pedals in drums or something. Not "achieving" anything. Inhales aren't really good for your throat either...Being able to exhale just requires more control than say, inhaling those particular sounds...Not to say inhaling is worthless, Lord Worm had some ridiculous inhales. It's largely just the connotation of it being used in all this core music as of late, things like that.

shure sm 58 is a very good standart mic for stage and definitely not crap (a shitty venue probably uses their mics since years and these mics are just dead then). the company AKG has tonns of different mics (as shure) so you probably mean a condenser mic for studio recordings like seen in the clip ? these professional mics definitely do a great job !
