Mr. TruthAxe, Darden's principles are based on the earlier work of Arthur Jones. It is from Jones' work that McGruff has brought up to date and refined.
Doug has skinny legs and puny shoulders. Machines are for physical therapy and not for those seeking fitness and certainly not for athletes. How is this any different than what Dr. Ellington Darden professed in Massive Muscles in 10 Weeks published in 1987?
1/ If point's to involve all muscles & keep volume to effective minimum, why 2 presses & 2 pulls? Support provided by these machines reduces most of the abs' involvement to stabilize torso, & Leg Presses don't work lower back, thus I'd think an effective "Big5" might be: Chest Press-or-Seated Press,(perhaps both, but at alternate workouts. / Row-or-Pulldown,(same alt.), Leg Press, Lumbar Extension, Crunch. 2/ I wonder if beginners know how to work hard enough to get by w/5. Maybe after 12wks(?)
