@bbenjoe no but u can try using an emulator for PC. You can even play the game fullscreen on a big TFT / LCD screen then, with sound coming from a dolby surround hifi system :D Just be sure to buy the game for DS too. :)

funny thing is: nintendo sued rainbow arts (creators of giana sisters) back in the 80's and stopped the publishing of the game. u may have noticed the similarys to super mario. :p

thats one reason this game got so immense popular back in the 80s. u could not BUY it, but everyone was playing it!

now the ironic part:

Nintendo revived the Stuff and ported a "new" version to the Nintendo DS. How funny is that?

Had no idea they were actually sued. I thought game companies got away with that kind of stuff back in the days.

Can't say they weren't asking for it, since their box-art reads "The Brothers are history!" if you Google image search for "Giana Sisters". :P

But surely, Nintendo gave in to fan-appreciation and gave the game, characters and music a nice fresh make-over.

Sure, it's not THE Giana Sister's "I know", but there's at least a nice feel of nostalgia to it. Particularly, the music.

Timewarp weren't sued, it's a myth. Nintendo only threatened to sue if they hadn't removed the games from the shelves. But yeah, "The brothers are history!" is a very bold quote! =D

Its awesome that they didn't make it 3D, and kept the "amiga-C64" feel of the graphics, well at least in my opinion they do. How I wished that Super mario bros for the DS kept the 2D

lol, sweet irony. must be because mario-bros classic jump n run theme is outdated by now and doesnt make money like it did in the late 80s early-mid 90s. this game is for mostly european(german) retro-fans of the commodore c-64 or amiga version anyways.

It's "the great giana sisters" you confuse it with. It's not the same game. it does for examble not contain lava. It has 2 bosses who also are much stronger than the 1 boss in this game.(if you jump on bosses from "the great giana sisters you die, in giana sisters ds you beat the boss by jumping on him.

The original Giana sisters was the first amiga video game I ever saw and played. It worths getting th DS for the giana sisters and new zealand adventure remakes. I hope they have more to come, but the prob in that Gods is only out for the psp.

Level 8-10 is cool, so long. Level 9-1 is very tough though. The toughest in the entire game. Level 9-2 was ok in terms of difficulty.

Anyone found secret levels for this game? I don't mean the unlockable cloud levels, but secret levels. I found one in 6-7, and it led me to a level called x-2. Where is x-1, and the others?

Secret x-1 is in the left upper most corner on 4-3 (see the sign?), return with the bubble there and fly up to unlock it :) Got the info from Gamefaq !! Also did you do 8-10, 9-1 and 9-2 and collected all red diamonds?

x-1 btw. stinks, the worst level of the game, x-2 is much funnier and better. I don't know if x-1 is available in the night edition though.

Well it's a hidden fun level so what do you expect? ;) But x-2 is clearly better, yes. Haven't found an x-3 yet, but assumingly there should be a x-3 with the winter edition too.

Das Spiel ist wunderbar geworden. Ein würdiger Nachfolger. Zwar erreicht es nich zu 100% den Charme des Vorgängers, aber das soll und kann es auch nicht. Über 20 Jahre liegen nun zwischen diesen Versionen. Fazit - GIANA SISTERS ist zeitlos genial, egal ob auf dem C64, Amiga 500 oder DS!

Wow... I'm seriously impressed with this. I came here expecting a modest update of a port (which would've been interesting to begin with), but this looks really superb.

Hopefully they'll throw in some good 2P stuff and some extras, like the C64 original, some artwork and other things of interest, perhaps Nintendo would even deign to *ahem* have a little cross-over of some kind (I doubt it).

Everything about this looks awesome, and such a cute main character doesn't hurt either. :P

Well, the DS has been a system of firsts for me. Ace Attorney, Trauma Center, Izuna, even Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ! I guess I might as well add "Giana Sisters" to the list now rather than later (And I suppose Scribblenauts while I'm at it).

*Note: I am aware that this game started as a fun-but-blatant Mario rip-off on the C64 from 1988. Please be aware that I also mentioned Ace Attorney, which started as a GBA game in 2001.
