Allow me to demonstrate on behalf of his collection method. He is seeking 500 monthly individuals to make donations to his ministry. Very likely many donors will only donate once. Thus he will likely encounter new donors every month. Thus all money collected after 500 donors are found MAY in fact be put to charity, however everything else can be kept, in accordance to his latest rules.
In conclusion I can only hardly ask for respect, however rather that you keep your mind open.
In regards to the Insult of the VFX ministry, I am concerned with blunt lies previously made by this very individual. A significant group of users on Youtube have taken action against the VFX ministry because of these lies, after false DMCA claims were filed on his behalf against several well known Youtube science education channels. It is now our fear that he is going back to his former self and continues to lie to users unable to check his facts.
Secular/humanist foundations and organizations perform in a similar fashion; we offer education, increate literacy and help shape free thinking, individuals. We help shape individuals that can come to their own conclusions on matters of faith, and science. Thus is our attempt to of collecting money for malaria, and raising awareness of our selves not the same as that conducted by every religious group over the past millennia?
If you would like to question our social contributions to society; or believe that that some of us have hidden ambitions, you are correct with this assumption. However, is that not the same as missionary work conducted by any religious organization? My conceptual understanding of missionary work is as follow: it begins with the donation of help, food, and aid in times of need; in return there is a permission to build a church and influence its people for decades to come.
I noticed in your response that you mentioned that it would be great if someone else pitched in on charity efforts. While I agree that there are some excellent Christian charity funds like the Salvation Army out there; there are also many secular/humanist foundations perusing similar goals [i.e. The Gates Foundation, and Richard Dawkins Foundation etc.]. Thus I hope that you were neither suggesting, nor implying that that those who do not share the Christian faith are not already active.
If you want to take it upon yourself to collect money for malaria sufferers, I think that's wonderful. With all the Christian charities that are already doing all they can to aid those in need it would be great to see someone else pitch in out of the goodness of their heart. However, something tells me you wouldn't be doing this if it didn't serve the double purpose of insulting VFX's ministry--which, by the way, is absolutely legitimate. For that reason I have little respect for your "charity".
